Chapter 50: A Date
Chapter 50: A Date
Camilla
My visit to Susan's place was really brief and I told her about my dinner tonight because I felt like I was keeping secrets from her. But to my surprise, she was in support of me having dinner with them and her words even surprised me more.
"I have already made plenty of threats to them so they will treat you well."
Gosh, I can't believe she said that to me. She handed me my coffee and I paid for it before I left her place.
Currently, I was sitting on the couch watching some movies when Nancy suddenly burst through the front door with an ecstatic look on her face.
"I got the job!" She blurted in excitement, throwing her bag on the counter and running over to me.
"That is so amazing!" I smiled, turning off the television so I could hear all the gist about it.
"I am assuming he loved your project then?"
"Oh my goodness, I spent the whole day making adjustments for him but who cares. He can be as picky as he wants, I am designing Dangote's house!"
I have no idea who this man is but I am guessing he is so important by the sounds of it.
"Tell me about it." I said, turning my body to face and I can see she was a little wild right now.
"Not a chance, we are talking about your dinner first, girl!"
"How did you find out about that?" I asked, considering I haven't spoken to her since this morning.
"I ran into Susan on my way home but the real question now is what are you going to wear?"
I haven't even realized giving it that much thought yet.
"Oh my goodness, it's already five-thirty." I exclaimed, standing up from the couch.
I just have less than an hour and I don't know what to wear yet. I must have lost track of time, so I rushed to the bathroom. I needed to take a shower and style my hair afterwards, she only laughed at me.
"Don't worry, you go take a shower and I will find a dress that will knock your dates off their feet."
I thanked her before running to my room and throwing myself into the shower a second later. Giving my body a quick shower, I hopped out and dried myself off with the towel and wrapped it around my chest. I caught my reflection in the mirror and I looked excited. I am excited.
Smiling to myself, I pull out my elastic hair, allowing my hair to fall down the side of my neck and over my shoulder. Then, I heard the sound of my door opening and closing from behind me. Glancing at myself one more time in the mirror, I walked out of the bathroom to find a long red dress laying on the bed.
"Don't overthink it, just put it on." I heard Nancy's voice right outside my door so I know she is waiting to see the dress on me.
Dropping the towel and sliding on my underwear, I moved to the beautiful dress she chose for me. The fabric is surprisingly soft and when I put it on, I see why she told me not to think about it. It was off-shoulder and three-quarter length but the part that causes me to hesitate is the high slit running along my left slide. The dress itself cuts off at the ground but it still leaves very little to the imagination.
"How does it fit…" she started before cutting herself off as she walked in.
"Girl, you are wearing that." She walks up behind me to get a better view.
The dress was truly perfect, the material hugged my body in all of the right places, falling slightly loose near the bottom.
"Nancy, this…"
"Is beautiful," she finished my sentence with a matching smile on my face.
After a moment of admiring the dress, she ushered me into the bathroom where she insisted on doing hair as I did my make-up. Within twenty minutes, my hair was falling into loose curls along my back and I had my makeup done as well. Honestly, I have no idea how this night is going to go but I am more than ready for it. Even as my heart begins to beat a little faster at the sound of the doorbell ringing, I know that this is what I want.
I can only hope that we want the same thing.
Opening the door, my heart skipped at the sight of my dates dressed in suits and waiting for me patiently on the porch.
"Hi," I breathed as three pairs of eyes looked up and down, hungrily taking in my body as I did the same to them.
"Sweetheart, you look…"
"Hot," Nancy abruptly interrupted.
"She looks so fucking hot." She added.
I can feel the heat begin to rise in my cheeks at her words and based on how the men are looking at me right now, they don't disagree with her. I thanked her and gave her a small smile before bending down to secure my heels around my feet. When I stood straight, now a few inches taller, I found Domenico already holding out his arms for me.
Taking him up on his offer, I said goodbye to Nancy before looping my hand in his. Domenico seems more satisfied by this and when he lead me out of the house, I found a white limousine parked in front of the house with a driver in the front seat
Looking at Domenico, he smiles at my slight confusion.
"Parking isn't very easy to find where we are going and this way we will be able to talk to you without having to focus on the road as well."
Before I could have a chance to think, Adriano opens the door for me, revealing an interior designer of the car. Ducking inside, I take a seat on the far end of the long couch. I repositioned my dress again once I was sitting down more specifically the slit that leaves a long strip of my left leg bare. The three of them followed, entering the car shortly after.
"So, where are we headed to?" I asked as the car started to move and Gregorio smiled.
"Have you ever heard of The Grill By Delis?"
"We are going to Afowo Doforo?" I asked and they nodded.
Holy shít, that is a very beautiful place to be. We were indeed driving to Afowo Doforo for dinner at one of the fanciest restaurants there.
To get a booking, you have to make the reservation one year in advance and the place even has a dress code for the guest. Robin and I saved up and made a reservation here to celebrate our anniversary this month little did I know I will come here with not one but three men.
Pulling out in front of the restaurant, my breath was stolen from me as Domenico offered me a hand out of the limousine. The place was so beautiful, it was like something I have never seen before.
"It is almost as breathtaking as you are." Gregorio whispered into my ear, low enough that only I could hear.
Even though I tried to fight it, a blush made its way to my cheeks at his compliments.
"Come on," he smiles, wrapping his arm around my back and effectively getting me to move from my frozen state.
I couldn't help it, it was truly one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen.
"How the hell did you guys manage to get a spot here?" I asked as I watched Adriano talk to the lady at the door.
"We did a huge favor for the owner a couple of years back. All it took was a quick phone call and they told us they would keep a spot open for us."
"So many connections." I murmured, causing his smile to widen.
Falling into steps beside us, Gregorio, Domenicos and I moved up to the entrance where Adriano is.
"If you can follow me right this way, I will take you to your table." The lady said, walking away before any of us could respond.
Following her inside, my eyes scan over every inch of the expensive interior. Gregorio's hand on my back allows me to look around while still moving in the right direction. We walked past all of the tables and to my left, I saw that the entire wall was made of glass so those seated inside can still see the incredible view.
Having my attention redirected to where we were going, I watched as the lady led us through a set of swinging doors, walking out onto another outdoor patio. There I see one large circular table with four chairs sitting around it. It overlooks straight onto the ocean and the ground is more like an unmoving dock than concrete. What I failed to notice at first glance was that there are no other tables on the patio, only ours.
I looked at Adriano but he only winked at me as the lady laid down our menus and silverware.
