Chapter twenty-five: Physical Attraction

Chapter twenty-five: Physical Attraction

Camilla

The realization of who it was that spun me caused my smiles to drop and quickly replaced with fear. Domenico was facing me, he wrapped one of his hands around my back and the other hand grabbed to my side.

My lower body was on fire just by his touch and we were so close that if it weren't for the camera in between us, our bodies would be pressing against each other.

"What the hell are you doing?" I growled, squirming away from his hold.

Somehow, he managed to keep me there without causing a scene until eventually I just gave in.

"Easy there, darling. I am not going to hurt you."

"Don't call me that," I snapped but this only brought a smile to his face.

"I like how feisty you are." He tilted my head to look at him. I tried to turn my head away but he just grabbed my chin in his hand.

"There is really no need to be like that, you know? I just want to talk."

"Let me go, I have a job to do."

"Yes, that has been dealt with, I told Daniel you were really dizzy and needed to sit down for a moment. Don't worry, he is completely understanding and hopes you feel better."

"I am not going anywhere with you."

We both knew that wasn't true. He was still smiling and moved my chin slightly to the side so he could lean into my ear.

"Well, unfortunately for you, darling. You don't have a choice. Now, are you going to talk with me or do I need to carry you out of here over my shoulder."

"You are not serious."

I tried calling out his bluff but he just stared at me and raised one of his eyebrows. When I don't move, his grip shifts as he goes to reach out for the back of my legs.

"Okay, it's fine." I said, blending and shoving his hands away.

My action caused an amused chuckle to escape from his mouth. I don't know what I am going to do but I know that I need to figure something out and fast.

With his hand still placed on my lower back, he guided me elsewhere in a direction where no people were around. This entire time, a prideful grin is plastered on his face.

They may have said that they aren't going to kill me but I do know what they are capable of. I would be foolish to trust them and walk into this blindly. There was no mistaking the darkness in Adriano's eyes and while I had initially compared them to gods, I know now that I couldn't have been more wrong.

Now, there was no mistaking the glint of the devil in their eyes. I know that if I am not careful, I may just fall victim to their next crime.

Domenico pov.

I didn't think I would ever see her again but here we are. She is currently in my hold, my arm wrapped around her body.

From that moment I shook hands with her, I had observed her every reaction, both with us and those around her. I didn't miss the way she bites the inside of her cheeks as she walks around or the way her legs kept pressing together every time we were closer to her. She seemed to be very attuned to her surroundings, even more now that I am by her side.

I didn't like the fact that she is scared but it is rather appropriate considering what little she knows about us. I can't imagine how terrified she would be if she actually knew who we were. Even though I had agreed a few days ago to never see her again, I now understand what my brother, Gregorio, was talking about.

He told us that he and Camilla spoke at our aunt's cafe and after meeting her personally, I now fully understand the appeal of the beautiful girl he described to us. At first, it was the initial physical attraction that drew me to her but every one of our encounters has only left me wanting more.

Throughout the function, I watched as she talked to people but it was only us that caused her to flick her eyes away under pressure and shift when we talked to her. Even when we were dancing together, she may have seemed scared but her lust was still highly apparent.

Every moment I was with her, I am more and more glad that we didn't need to kill her but now things are different, she knows everything now. After she walked away from Adriano on those stairs, leaving us all in a state of both surprise and admiration. The four of us contemplated on what to do.

Nancy wasn't supposed to be at the wedding but of course, her schedule cleared up. She is a friend to Daniel's wife who was more than happy she could make it even if it was just last minute. It caused a whole lot of chaos for us though.

Gregorio ran the risks of a few possibilities we could go about to deal with this situation and ultimately decided that talking was the most idealistic method. We could of course kill her but Nancy would never forgive us and none of us wanted Camilla dead anyways.

We could kidnap her and keep her with us to ensure her mouth is kept shut but as tempting as that is, it could get messy fairly quickly.

We could take something she deeply cared about as leverage but Gregorio struck down that idea as quickly as it formed. It wasn't because a risk was involved but because he liked her, whether he would admit it or not.

I also know that Susan will come for all our heads if we hurt her. In the end, there were endless ways we could go about this but talking was the only option we all agreed on. That is why I am the one guiding her away right now. We need to know for certain she won't speak because while we would never hurt her, our father is another story.

He can't know about her, if it were up to him, she would already be in a body bag and a thing of the past. And for a reason, that thought didn't just sit right with me.

Now, I am leading her towards the most vacated building. We ended up under a patio roof with enough seating to fit at ten people. Thankfully, the space was completely clear, allowing for us to talk without the ear of others listening.

I sat down on one of the chairs while she casually tried to escape one of the three chairs across from it.

"Why don't you sit down next to me?" It was half suggestions and half order, patting the chair to my left.

It is easier to read people's minds when they are closer, besides I can probably find a discreet way to feel her pulse if she is close enough. She narrowed her eyes at me as if considering whether or not I could be trusted.

"Don't worry, darling. I won't bite." I grinned at her stubbornness and my smiling only seemed to annoy her more.

Instead of responding, she took a seat as far away from me as she could.

"You want to talk? Then go ahead." She nervously readjusted her position.

Oh, darling. You have no idea how badly I wanted to take you over my knee for using that tone with me. Fully taken in her appearance, she crossed her legs. She is really beautiful, especially after talking to her. I can't imagine any reason as to why that boyfriend of hers would cheat.

"Did you get the chance to eat earlier?" I asked because I know this question would throw her off anyways and it works.

"W…what?" She stuttered and a flush appeared across her cheeks.

"Did you have your lunch here?" I smile, taking in her uneasiness.

"Oh, right." She shifted ever so slightly in her seat.

"I had lunch at the same time everyone else did."

She said and her eyes dilated, her body revealing the lie without her even knowing it. I just hummed in response.

"And how was the job going?" I asked again and watched as she began to get confused.

"Domenico, I know this isn't what you needed to talk about otherwise you would have said it in front of everyone else."

This is the first she has ever said my name and I liked the way it rolled out of her mouth.

"And what exactly do you think I wanted to talk about, Camilla?" She took a deep breath before straightening her back.

"The fact that I know you three are murderers and somehow managed to trick both me and the police into thinking I was crazy." She blurted, getting straight to the point.

For a moment, I didn't say anything. I just watched as she cautiously waited for my response.
