Chapter 296: Paying Her Father A Visit
Chapter 296: Paying Her Father A Visit
Domenico
Not being able to get this dickhead person makes me want to burn the whole apartment complex to ashes just in case he was stupid enough to try and come back for more.
"I know, darling, none of this makes sense." I said, reaching over to grab her hand in mine.
"I am going to find answers though, this has gone too far and nobody gets to hurt the people that I love. Nobody."
I look at both Gregorio and Adriano who are both sporting the same looks as I am, understanding in their eyes as we have already discussed our next course of action. We have been waiting around for too long for Ofomata to come to us, and now that we know Camilla's stalker is a male, we were able to narrow down our suspects just a little. For example, her ex from The Safe Stella is no longer a main focus for us.
Regardless, this lead us minuscule and I needed to change that, I had to. There is no cost too high when it comes to the protection of the girl I was going to spend the rest of my life with.
"But how?" She asked.
"No matter what we do, my stalker always seems to be one step ahead of us."
I know that too, that is why the only other choice I have is to do something no one would expect us to do. Standing from my seat, I walk over until I am by her side again, leaning my body weight against the arm of the couch. My fingers glide gently over her cheek with the knowledge she likely needs to support especially when I can only offer her a half answer.
"Do you trust me?" I asked and she responded without a moment of hesitation.
"Yes, of course."
"This man, Camilla….we can conclude he is somebody you know and well." The panic flickers in her eyes but there was also determination there. She can handle it, she has to.
"In the Mafia, we all have our strength and mine is understanding an individual's psychology. Whoever this person is doesn't just want you sexually, this isn't a past lover fueled by rejection. This is somebody who wants your soul, the very essence that makes you human."
"What are you going to do, Domenico?" She asked more firmly this time and that is when I hear the text message I have been waiting for, telling me that my meeting is confirmed.
"He is going to Abu Dhabi." Adriano responded to me.
Yes, I am going to pay a visit to her long last father, Lucas Brown.

As much as I would love to spend every second of every day enjoying having Camilla back in my arms, I fear that if I don't get to the bottom of this stalker situation soon, that enjoyment will be short-lived. Ofomata is a sick and deprived man and I physically feel nauseous knowing he has managed to hurt her already. The violated look on Camilla's face when she learned about her underwear, it was unforgettable.
I wish I could have shielded her from it, I wish I could have lied and said that everything was okay but there was a lot about our relationship now that had to be different than the one we shared before. At the end of the day, Adriano, Gregorio and I were all high ranking members of the mafia and we couldn't keep Camilla from our darkness forever. As the Don's underboss, Adriano has me sent away on jobs all this time even more so now that he has finally stepped into that title. This also meant that our list of enemies was endless. Today, I wasn't going to come home until I found real answers, whoever is terrorizing my girl is in for a hell of a wake up call.
'You don't touch what is mine and walk away without consequences.'
Raising my hands in absolute surrender, I inhale the humid air of Abu Dhabi as my feet carry me to what appears to be the doors of an abandoned warehouse. I know in my gut, though, that this is the entrance to The Safe, the place that housed a prisoner that never did the crime to get there. How far away would I be from the room that held her captive? How many people would I pass who knew she was sedated but didn't care enough to help her?
My trained expression may only reveal the unbothered facades that have been drilled into me over the years but on the inside, I was dying. I needed answers and my trigger finger was begging to get some action. I was already, so when the doors showed the first sign of movement, I began to execute the next part of my plan. Swinging around to grab where Jacob Pope is hiding in the camera's Blindspot, I pull him in front of me and shove him to his knees, a low curse falling from his gagged and bloody mouth.
I am able to count five men who walk outside, all with guns raised and pointed at me. I can't help but scoff at the insult, as if five men who looked like they have never experienced true pain could handle me.
"Considering your little display of panic, I take it you know the significance of the man at my feet." I said, cocking my head mockingly.
"Take me to Lucas and I won't be as tempted to put a bullet through your darling dearest Jacob Pope."
He growled at my menacing tone but I only shoved the gun harder into his temple. He may have agreed to do this with me to help get the answers we needed but that doesn't mean I trust him any more than I can throw him. He had access to Camilla's old apartment, he has had a history of being rejected by her. I am not a moron to not recognize his opportunities, however his DNA sample didn't match that of the semen that covered the panties. Unless he had a friend who was with him on it, which seemed unlikely because who would want to be friends with him, we had nothing incriminating against them.
It doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the fuck out of beating him to a pulp to make this visual we have now look more convincing. Jacob was just the distraction, though. The bait, truthfully, I don't have much love for a single person here and I am ready to blow some shit up.
"Duck," I said and he did just in time to miss the bullet that embeds itself into the side of one of the disgrace Lucas considers a soldier, not stopping until five bodies drop to the ground in a satisfying thud.
I don't give myself nearly enough time to enjoy it, though.
"Get up," I ordered, untying Jacob from his bonds.
"Bring me to him and if you try to pull any type of sketchy shit while we are here, I don't care that Camilla likes you. I will make your death one of unimaginable pain."
Jacob raises an eyebrow at me as though my words were baseless and then gestures his hand to the rusted old door before us.
"Sure thing, lover boy. Ladies first."
I shove him through the entrance as my body readies itself for what is to come. The five dead bodies didn't even come close to scratching inside of me. There were a lot of ways to send a message apart from murder and I was about to show the mockery known as her Father's Mafia why we were called the Night Reapers.

Lucas Brown is just as pathetic as I remember. Having sat in his chair in his perfect little office, it was almost too easy to smell his fear, likely due to the blood of his comrade being worn like a trophy against my clothes. He may have accepted the meeting but it was going to happen on my terms. I was even more volatile now that Jacob had led me straight through the core of The Safe, nothing but tunnels and pathways and dead ends. The only light provided was artificial and every moment spent here was a moment imagining what it must have been like for Camilla. It all needs to burn.
"Domenico, thank you for joining me." Lucas spews out in greetings as he takes a seat across from me, clearly irritated by my own choice of location.
Good, irritated was good. By the time my absence is required, he will leave fuming just how I want him. Visually, he looked every bit of what I would expect of him, salt and pepper hair, ever so slightly overweight and bags under his eyes that betray his portrayal of having everything under control. It is really hard to believe that this is the man who raised the woman I am in love with, If you can even call that half the time parenting.
Camilla may have raised herself but I am not ignorant to the fact that Lucas taught his daughter a lot of what she knows today. I can hate it all I want, it doesn't make it any less true.
