Chapter eight: I Am The Hunter

Chapter eight: I Am The Hunter

Adriano

"Anyways, I think Jacob has waited for so long, don't you think so?" Domenico smiled as he stood up from his chair.

"Let me know if you need any assistance."

"I will," he left.

A few seconds later, he placed his chair in front of Jacob but still kept standing.

"So, Jacob, let's make this quick, shall we? Tell us where Lucas Brown is and we can end this whole thing right now." The man shut his eyes closed and furiously shook his head back and forth.

"Please, I can't tell you anything. I don't know where he is but I do know that he will personally kill me if I help you." My brother sighed in disappointment.

"Alright, Jacob, suit yourself. However, I highly suggest you close your eyes because I doubt this stuff is safe for your vision."

"Please! Please don't do this! I swear I don't know where he is!" He is now completely in a hysterical state.

"If you don't know where he is then what can you tell us? Surely you know something, otherwise you wouldn't have been brought here." He kept quiet.

"How about what he hired you to do? Can you answer that?"

Yet no response and Domenico lets out a frustrated breath.

"Fine, if you don't want to talk, then I will. Here is what I know about you, Jacob. I know you are forty-five years old and I also know that you have a wife and you are expecting, am I right?" He still didn't say a word.

"Congratulations are in order, you are going to be a father soon."

"No," he said in horror but it was not because Domenico was wrong.

"But the problem is that it wasn't your wife that was pregnant, am I right?" Jacob hung his head forward in shame but didn't deny it.

"Listen, you don't understand. It is really complicated."

"Actually, it is not. I just got off the phone with your Carrier about an hour ago and took the courtesy of explaining your situation to you. Believe me when I say she wasn't pleased."

"What?" He froze as he processed the information.

"Let me ask you once more. What can you tell us about Lucas Brown?"

"Fúck you, don't you realize what you just did?"

I can tell by my brother's change in demeanor that he is beginning to get mad. Oh, that should be good. Domenico rarely loses his cool so it is always a roller coaster ride to see him when he does.

"You think this is bad? This is a child's play compared to what we were capable of. We tried to make this work in a civilized fashion at the start and it was you who chose to not be cooperative." He paused for a moment.

"I would like to say that I am a fairly patient man but my patience is running out." He rounded the table and leaned down so he was at eye level with Jacob.

"I highly suggest you work with me here because between Adriano and me, I am the nice one. However, don't mistake my kindness for weakness, I have no issues calling him right back in here to work with you. That is of course right after I douse you along with each and every single one of your cuts in a pool of alcohol." He moved back to his seat and then continued.

"Oh, forewarning Adriano likes to play with matches. Do you want to find out for yourself or are you going to work with me here?"

"Fuck you!" He spat out.

"You have ruined my life, there is nothing to go home to now and it is your fault."

"Oh, Jacob. If you think you are leaving this room in anything but a body bag, you are sorely mistaken."

That shut him up completely and replaced his newfound confidence with fear once again. Taking a moment, I stopped listening to their conversation instead I appreciate just how beaten up he is. Both of his eyes have almost fully swollen, he has cuts lining almost every spot on his face and bruises are now fully showing underneath his bodied skin.

Domenico was right, I really did manage to give him a lot of wounds.
My happy thoughts however were abruptly interrupted by the shrilling scream that was coming out from Jacob's mouth now.

Holy shit, he actually did it. He was currently standing behind Jacob with the bottle of rubbing alcohol, spilling over onto his face and I am sure his skin is burning now. My brother is not typically one for violence but the sight before me is a reminder of how truly ruthless he could be or how ruthless he is. It was how we were all trained and now it is who we are.

I guess that is the kind of training you get when you work for the deadlies, most powerful crime group in all of the country. Our father is the leader and we are the heirs but I am the first of the triplets. We are known as the Vegas Blaster Crime Family and the most powerful out of all the mafia brotherhood.

It has quickly become a well known fact that anyone who dares to cross us is a dead man walking and Lucas Brown is a dead man walking. He has been building his own personal army for years in hopes of ranking us out and that is not fucking likely going to happen. He is still a target and must be taken down.

That was the newest assignment our father gave us, to find Lucas Brown, capture him and then make a statement out of his dead body as to what happens to people who think to cross our path. Jacob was simply a lead, a lead which was going to break any second now.

"Hey, Adriano! Can you come help me with something back here please?" I heard Domenico's voice, and it looks like it is my turn to play again.

"No! Please no! Don't let him enter here! I will tell you what you want, just don't bring him back!"

I can't tell if I am happy or not that he is finally ready to give us what we need. Or sad since I am no longer going to get the outlet I so desperately need right now. I guess I just have to find something else to let my energy out on or someone else.

Just to be sure, I open the door to the room and peek my head in, smirking at the look of fear that instantly consumed Jacob's face when he saw me.

Really, he is terrified of me but not the guy that just made his skin burnt.

"You needed a hand?" I asked, hopefully even though I already know the answer.

I watched my brother look at his designer watch that sits on his right wrist.

"The club should be opening in about fifteen minutes, go and let off some steam and I will meet you there when I am done." He responded before returning back his attention to Jacob.

To some, Domenico refusal to sit down during interrogation many seem like nothing but I know it is an act of dominance.

Accepting that I was no longer needed here, I closed the door and walked over to the elevator down the hall. Stepping inside, I pressed a button that would take me up to where my other brother, Gregorio is. Our team consisted of a hundred people but my brothers and I were also business partners.

As I was on my way to meet Gregorio, I used the short period to inspect the damage I had done to my hand. There was some cut and dried blood around my knuckles but it is not something I haven't felt before.

Stepping out of the polished marble floor, I saw Gregorio sitting at his desk through the glass wall of his office. He was at this computer, managing goodness knows what but I can tell it had his full attention.

Here, everyone is specialized in their own personal set of expertise. That way whatever we need done, we can trust that there is always someone on the team who can do it.

Domenico as you already know is the manipulator in our group of three. He isn't scared of physical well and encouragement per say, he only relies on his mind to get what he needs. There isn't much that can get past that guy, I don't know the exact specifics but all I do know is that he reads the signs that people give off. Just by observing their reactions to things like words or action, Domenico is able to collect almost any information we could gain from a person. It is pretty scary actually.

And for Gregorio, he manages all of our finances and is pretty much the brain of our operation. While I am the leader, Gregorio makes the majority of judgment calls since he is able to analyze and think of every possible outcome our decision holds. He is the least hot headed out of the three and the heavens knows that Domenico and I would have screwed up this mission a long time if it weren't for Gregorio's rational thinking.

I am the hunter, I received locations and names and found the said person and in most cases, I ended up killing them. My job is the least civilized in our group but I am good at what I do.

The thrill of the hunt is intoxicating and while killing people is never an idea, someone has to get it done.
