Chapter 105 The Past

(Job's POV)
I can't deny that I did once like Ada.
But those are all in the past.
Before I met Suzy, I always thought I liked Ada.
However, after we got married, I found that Ada had no charm at all. She was pretty, but I was tired of looking at her, and even if she was highly educated, she was of no use to me, and I simply didn't like Ada.
But Suzy is sexy and my eyes are drawn to her whenever she appears.
I couldn't control my heart at all.
I couldn't help but get closer to Suzy, even though she didn't look honorable, I couldn't help but get closer to her.
She knew I was married, yet she didn't care about that at all.
"Jobe, I love you, as long as you can divorce that woman, I can be with you anytime, I'm tired of this life, I want you." When Susie said these words, her tone was very sincere.
I know that Suzy did not deceive me.
I promised Suzy that I would marry her.
But the abominable Ada stopped it all.
She didn't agree to divorce me at all.
She wanted a sum of money, and I knew she was probably greedy for my money from the beginning, and I certainly wouldn't let her get away with it.
So Ada, the bitch, actually ran to my parents' house.
She always looks gentle in front of outsiders. I don't understand why so many people like her, even my parents.
Ada has refused to divorce me, and Susie has become increasingly unhappy.
"Jobe, if you can't get a divorce, I can't have the baby either, I can't have my baby as a bastard." Susie looked at me, her eyes were filled with tears, and even her tone became heartbreaking.
I really can't see her showing this expression, I sighed, and then, I carried Suzy in my arms.
"Susie, wait for me a little longer, I can figure out a way soon."
But in reality, no matter what tactics I use, they don't seem to work.
Ada has been very determined that she must have the baby in her belly, and, she must get the money.
I looked at Ada's face I didn't even want to look at her more than once - and Ada seemed about to burst into tears, but that only made me feel bored.
"Jobe, why must you do this to me?"
I sneered.
"Ada, I don't love you, don't you understand?"
"Is it because of that woman? You're not afraid that I'll tell mom and dad about all of this?"
After Ada said such words to me, the thought of killing her already appeared in my heart.
Yes, if Ada told anyone about this, my parents would stop Suzy and me from being together, and they would take back all the things they gave me right before.
Ada tried to ruin me!
I couldn't let her succeed.
When I saw Suzy again, I told Suzy everything I was thinking inside.
"So, you want to kill her? No, no, Jobe, if you do, then you'll be arrested by the police."
I certainly knew the seriousness of the matter, but I seemed to have no better choice.
At this time, Suzy came up to me.
"Jobe, I have an idea, do you want to hear about it?"
I looked to Susie and inquired, "What's the solution?"
Susie sat down and she lowered her voice and said, "I know, Ada's pregnant too, isn't she?"
I looked to Suzy: "What do you want to do?"
Suzy gave a soft laugh.
My God, she is so beautiful.
I swear, I will never see a more beautiful woman than her again.
"Jobe, if a woman is pregnant, then she is prone to accidents, especially when it comes to childbirth."
"So what's it going to take? Susie, having a baby now is not a very dangerous thing, as long as she's in the hospital, then she won't die very easily."
Susie gently stroked my cheek, and her words were like magic: "Jobe, in that case, don't let her show up at the hospital."
When I heard what Suzy said, my expression appeared a little hesitant for a moment.
I think Susie must have other plans.
"Susie, what the hell do you want to do?"
"Jobe, you can't let that child be born, or all of your parents' fortune will surely be left to that woman's child."
I nodded my head.
Even if the child is left in the future, when the child grows up afterward, she will certainly not recognize me.
After that, Susie helped me prepare the medication that I could use.
I sent these to Ada's side, and as soon as the time was right, I would get the results I wanted.
If Ada had given in to me earlier, perhaps it wouldn't have ended up like this now.
She is to blame for all of this.
(Lina's POV)
I already knew all I could, and, as I had no intention of staying here for long, I told them, after returning to Mrs. Kate's house, that I would leave tomorrow.
"Lena, isn't this your hometown? You can stay here for a little longer and get some rest."
However, I shook my head.
I know that Mrs. Kate is very enthusiastic about me, but right now, I have to make the most of everything.
As long as the Lester family estate is in my father's hands, I will not be at ease.
Moreover, I think that the cause of my mother's death was not due to a difficult birth, there must be other reasons.
All this truth, now I am afraid that only my father knows.
"Mrs. Kate, I will certainly return if I have the opportunity to do so in the future."
"All right then." Mrs. Kate didn't mean to force me to stay.
After Jamie and I rested here for the night, we left for the airport early the next morning.
We were greeted at the airport by Bob the butler.
"Madam, Mr. Raphael has to stay in the office all the time recently because of his work."
I looked over at Bob, somewhat confused as to why Rafael was suddenly busy.
"And did he tell you when he'd be back?"
Bob shook his head at me.
Rafael is rarely this busy, and I suddenly had a bad feeling inside.
However, although I was worried about his situation, I wasn't going to bother him in this situation.
After I got home, I simply organized my things and then, walked out the door.
I'm going to meet up with my father, and this time, I'm going to go straight back to Lester's.
Of course, this is certainly not an easy task.
Once I rang the doorbell, I was mentally prepared enough.
A few seconds later, the door to the room was opened.
It was my stepmother Susie who came to the door.
The moment she saw me, the smile on her face disappeared down.
I didn't feel so strange about her reaction like that.
Some not-so-good memories, I still remember very clearly.
She was indeed a very excessive woman. At that time, there were other maids in the house, but she pushed all the work to me and even made me do things with the strictest demands.
Of course, I didn't come this time to find her.
"Where's my dad?"
Susie's face seemed to show some anger, but she quickly put all her emotions away. She opened the door completely and then gestured for me to come in.
"You'll be made fun of after the neighbors see you standing in the doorway."
I walked in and the decor was no different than when I left a few years ago, and of course, I even had fond fantasies about the place when I first arrived.
However, fantasy is ultimately fantasy.
I adjusted my thoughts and then looked at Suzy: "You still haven't told me where my dad is."
"Not everyone is like you, Lena, your father is very busy right now, and he has so many things to take care of that he doesn't have the energy to pay attention to you," Susie said to me in a tone that was calm enough yet very condescending.
I didn't feel angry, and as I looked over at Suzy, I understood exactly why she was showing that look.
Because, in every way, I am better off than Susie and, perhaps, happier than anyone else in the Lester household.
It's normal for Susie to have jealous feelings for me.
But, I wasn't going to pay attention to her.
I looked to Suzy and said, "I think it would be best if you contacted my father, he would be happy to see me, and if you delay him, I'm sure there's no way to avoid a fight between you."
Suzy looked at me and she narrowed those very seductive-looking eyes. She walked up to me and then said to me, "Lena, no matter what, I am your stepmother, you should give me enough respect instead of this attitude."
If it was before, I would have felt intimidated by Suzy, but this time, I didn't feel any intimidation.
Maybe it's because I've lost most of the memories I once had, or maybe it's because my identity has now changed and I no longer fear the people who once brought me harm.
I gave a soft laugh and then said, "If you think you accompany to be my mother? Susie, I have never thought of you as my mother, and you should know that very well."
Susie looked at me and she didn't say anything.
I don't know exactly why she was silent, but it's likely because she thought about something that had happened.
"What's wrong? Susie, do you think I look like someone?"
"Yes, Lena, you are too much like your mother, that annoying woman."
My smile became more pronounced.
