Chapter 56 Amusement park trip

(Lena's POV)
Rafael insisted on accompanying me to the hospital, and although my attitude was also firm, I was simply no match for him.
Since that kiss, our relationship has been somewhat ambiguous.
Raffaele didn't keep pushing me to acknowledge the relationship between the two of us, which instead made me a little worried.
I thought about the recent events while I put my clothes on. Rafael had been waiting for me outside in the living room. Jamie had been left in Miller's care - something that was not easy to do, Jamie was just too dependent on me.
I got dressed and Rafael took me to the hospital.
As soon as I arrived at the hospital, after seeing the depressing environment in the hospital, my mood started to get tense. Rafael noticed the change in me, he was just walking alongside me, when suddenly, my hand was held tightly in his wide palm.
I looked up and glanced at Rafael.
"Don't worry, Lena, it'll be fine soon."
My heart actually calmed down and even though Raphael didn't say anything else, I didn't panic as much as I did before.
The surgery went very well indeed.
I spent the following days recuperating in the hospital. Although Rafael wanted me to be able to go back, he was still worried about my health.
A few days later, Rafael came to the hospital. He picked me up with Jamie and took me home.
"Lena, while this may not be very nice, Jamie has been arguing with me for days."
I looked up at Rafael, wondering what he wanted to say to me.
Rafael sighed, then said, "He wants you to accompany her to the amusement park."
"It's okay with me, Rafael, but do you have a minute?"
"I've scheduled out the time."
Instead, I looked forward to something like this. I never seem to go out with anyone, even in Paris where I have plenty of time to myself, but I have no such desire.
Jamie was on the sidelines, hugging tightly at Rafael's shirt, and he looked at me with an expectant look on his face, and I knew that he wanted to go so badly.
I smiled at Jamie and said, "No problem, Jamie, we can go together."
"Really?"
"Really."
I became in a good mood, and this time together has made me no longer resist Raphael.
I took Jamie's hand and Rafael followed us. Because of my body, and Jamie's age, many facilities we were not able to try. However, the amusement park is a place full of fun, and that's enough.
At lunchtime, we took a break at a restaurant.
It's very quiet here, and while Jamie is still very energetic, I'm already a little tired.
Rafael went out for an impromptu phone call because of some business. Jamie and I were in our seats enjoying our food.
At this time, a sudden shriek rang out from my side.
I turned my head and looked at the source of the sound.
A girl with blonde hair looked at me excitedly.
"Lena! My God, I didn't think that I could see you in this place." The girl looked surprised I was more surprised than the girl.
Because I didn't even know her.
However, I had already guessed that too. If the girl knew me, but I didn't know her, most likely, she was also someone I had met during my time in America.
She came over, "Can I sit here?"
"Sure," I answered her, but, I didn't know her name, and I had no way to explain to her what had happened to me because it was all a little too complicated to explain.
The girl still didn't notice that there was anything wrong with me.
"Lina, I think it's been five years since we've seen each other, right? I really didn't expect, but I just came back from abroad, but I saw you in such a place, is this your child?" The girl's gaze was suddenly placed on Jamie's body.
Jamie was not affected in any way, he was still eating his food very happy and looked very cute.
Sure enough, the girl's expression all became tender: "God! This boy is really cute, Lena, he looks so much like you."
I didn't know what to say, so I could only smile and nod at the same time.
Fortunately, I didn't have a chance to answer her words because the girl didn't even give me a chance to answer.
"I thought I'd never see you again. I thought the same thing last time, but I didn't expect your husband to come forward. You look much better, but you've lost weight. Lena, Rafael wouldn't treat you very much, would he?"
I watched the girl's brow furrow, and then, subconsciously, I waved my hand.
"No, no, you misunderstand, Raphael is still good to me."
I saw the girl smile with satisfaction, "And you, have you forgiven me?"
But I don't know what the girl did.
I think it's time to tell her the truth.
As I was about to open my mouth to explain, Rafael had returned from his phone call.
When I saw Raphael, it was like seeing a savior.
"Ava?"
"Yes! It's me, Rafael, I didn't think you'd recognize me, I've redyed my hair." Ava said to Rafael.
Rafael came over and then, he sat down next to me, "What are you guys talking about?"
Ava laughed a little, "It's nothing, I just saw Lena and you're back."
I smiled at Raphael, but of course, I was hoping Raphael could see what I meant.
How awkward and forced my smile was.
Rafael gave me a look and didn't give me a response, then, he looked to Ava: "Lena had a little incident and we just got back from the hospital."
Ava's face turned a little ugly: "Oh my God, are you okay? No wonder I feel like you've lost weight."
I didn't tell Ava that I had gotten fatter after I returned home to Rafael.
I rubbed my cheek and didn't look at Rafael, but, I did feel Rafael's line of sight.
"Ava, there's one more thing that Lena shouldn't have told you."
Ava looked to Rafael, "What?"
"Lena doesn't remember anything anymore."
Silence.
The air was silent for a moment, except for the sound of Jamie eating. He didn't care what happened to us.
"Rafael, is that true?" Ava laughed, she looked as if she was laughing at Raphael's lies, after all, such words did sound a bit lame.
Then I took a deep breath, looked at Ava, and said, "It's true, honey, I don't know who you are."
Ava's face became completely ugly.
"I'm sorry to hear about that."
Raphael's face was always so calm, but, I don't know why, I always felt that Raphael's face was also very unpleasant now. He doesn't seem to like seeing Ava, even though Ava seems to be very close to me.
Of course, if they don't say what happened between us before, I may never know what happened.
"I remember a few years ago, you seem to have left the country," Rafael spoke up, breaking the stagnant atmosphere.
Ava smiled a little, then, she nodded, "Yes, Rafael, I just got back, and to be honest, I didn't expect to meet you guys here, so, Lena is not remembering anything?"
"She doesn't remember anything except what I've already told her."
I looked at Ava's face still hard, then, I said softly, "Ava, you don't have to show such an expression whether I remember exactly what happened before or not, I'm doing fine now."
Ava finally showed a smile. This time, she stood up, and then, from her bag, took out a business card. Then, Ava put this business card on the table, I swept a glance at the phone number on the card, and Rafael took the card directly over.
"In that case, I won't continue to bother you guys. That's my business card, for some reason I changed my phone after I left the country, if you need anything, you can call me anytime, as long as I have time, I will come to see you." Ava looked at me, her eyes were bright, there was something in her eyes that I didn't understand.
Rafael nodded and said nothing.
Then Ava turned and left.
Only after Ava left did I ask, "Did she do something to me before?"
"Why do you say that?"
"Before you came back, she asked me if I had forgiven her."
Raphael did not answer my question immediately, I looked at him and realized that Raphael had been looking at me.
However, I didn't understand exactly what Raphael's gaze meant.
Only, I did guess that something must have happened between Ava and me.
"Not allowed to let me know?"
Rafael shook his head.
When I returned, Rafael told me what had happened.
"It does seem as if I have forgiven her." After knowing the full story, my heart did not feel sad, although I did look miserable.
"Didn't you ever think that it was because you didn't remember these things that you forgave her?"
"That's part of it, too," I replied softly, and Rafael glanced at me through the rearview mirror.
I smiled at Rafael.
Because I don't remember everything in the past, I can easily let go of either love or hate.
Only, Raphael might not be happy to hear such words from my mouth, so I temporarily changed my words: "Actually, I would prefer to understand the past than to pursue it. Raphael, I'm instead a little curious now about what happened between us."
What, in the end, would make that kind of love we finally separated for five years?
