Chapter 16 Raphael's father

(William's POV)
I was worried about Lena and didn't sleep well the whole night after I went back that day.
But I couldn't reach her, and this feeling of powerlessness without any way out made me loathe myself, and in the same way, I deeply loathed Rafael.
But there was nothing I could do about it.
This one is the real truth.
For a long time, I wasn't able to find my form, even a little muddled, but that's how it went on for a few days, and suddenly I thought of someone.
I went to the bar again, just as I had done countless times before, only this time, I could no longer see the person I missed so much.
Nina seemed very surprised to see me coming.
"I thought you already knew about Lena's resignation."
Yes, I know, I do know.
"I came here to see you, Miss Nina."
"You're looking for me? If you want me to help you contact Lena, I'm afraid I can't help you, she told me she was going to be away for a while, and after that, I won't be able to contact her anymore." When Nina said these words, her expression was also a bit despondent, which seemed to have touched her heartbreak.
However, she quickly adjusted: "Is there anything else you want to ask, Mr. Hill."
"I know where Lena is."
Nina's eyes widened, she no longer looked like a light-hearted party, her expression instantly became serious.
"Let's go inside and talk, Mr. Hill."
After making sure no one would overhear our conversation, Nina looked at me with a serious expression, "Tell me, where is Lena?"
"She was probably imprisoned by Rafael."
Nina's looked terrified, and I sighed very helplessly.
"But it's Raphael, why would he do that?"
"You probably don't know this, but they were lovers a long time ago."
The look on Nina's face told me that she didn't know about it, which was a situation I was happy to see: "I think that Rafael must have forced Lena to do something."
Nina shook her head, "But why? If they were lovers before, why wouldn't Lena tell me?"
"Because Lena doesn't love him at all."
Raphael wouldn't have loved her either, at least, with all the things he did that seemed to hurt Lena. He's just doing it to get back at me.
Nina looked terrified, she looked so ugly that she was almost on the verge of tears.
"God, someone helps her."
I took a breath and looked at Nina, "I hope you can help me if you'll trust me."
Nina doesn't seem to have a lot of trust in me either, and she's not wrong in her suspicion that if I had the power, I wouldn't have let Lena get hurt by Raphael right in front of me in the first place.
But it's not too late for everything.
"I wouldn't want to hurt her, Nina, I don't care if I can be with Lena, I just want Lena to escape that demon."
Nina still seemed to be struggling, I didn't rush her or anything, and after a long time she raised her head with a very firm look in her eyes, "Okay, I'll help you."
(Rafael's POV)
When I hugged Lena, I could feel the warmth of her body, and I don't know when she looked at me, her eyes were no longer as fearful and cold as she wanted to be at the beginning.
I thought she was learning her lesson.
Ryan called me out for a drink, the first time I've been out since I brought Lena home. I was going to take Lena with me, but she seems to be more serious about her work than even I am. The work doesn't have to be done now, and I wouldn't blame her for anything even if I put it off until tomorrow.
But she was unusually serious, and she never even refused me so seriously when I tried to touch her.
"No, Rafael, I have a lot of documents to translate tomorrow, and if you must make me go to those parties between you and your friends tomorrow, you won't touch me tonight, and I won't even sleep on the floor in your bed."
I don't even know who she learned such a stubborn temper from. Of course, what makes me laugh and cry is that she would reject me for such a reason.
Of course, I punished her severely, and my tactics have been much milder than before. I promised her that I would be back on time tomorrow and we would meet at the office then.
Ryan opened another bar, to be honest, he opened this kind of thing is not profitable, I suggested that he put his extra money out into other companies to participate, so it may be easier, he laughed and the women around him left and right that I do not have any love interest.
"Come on, Rafael, it wouldn't take one Lena Lester to satisfy you, would it? You know, I'm doing great things, and if I hadn't opened these bars, those desperate girls would be freezing to death in the streets, and of course, you wouldn't have met Lester."
I got a good look at Ryan's face with the dim light of the bar and just grunted very softly, but in reality, was already mentally contemplating which part of his face to punch.
A woman full of alcohol came over and tried to hand me a drink, I coldly swept that person, even the heavy makeup can not hide the ugly look: "Stay away from me."
Ryan, who witnessed all this, often laughed heartily: "Raphael, you're not going to do this for real, are you?"
I looked up at Ryan: "I'd love to tell you, but your taste is getting worse."
"Don't talk about it, Raphael, do you remember what you told me before?"
I said that I would make Lena fall in love with me again.
"Remember."
"Now then, don't you think you're actually in a very dangerous situation?"
I narrowed my eyes at Ryan, "What are you trying to say?"
"I think that it's not that you made her fall in love with you, but that you're coming close to falling in love with her all over again."
I withdraw my gaze and gently shake the wine in my glass.
What's not to like about that? Even if I start to have feelings for Lena again, she can't help but fall in love with me all the same.
"Raphael, come to your senses, even if you and she want to get married, does your father agree? Does her father agree? Don't be silly, just play a little, too serious can lead to a lot of trouble."
I looked at Ryan and suddenly let out a laugh, then, my body leaned back and rested on the back of the couch, Ryan was a little confused by my stare, "What do you keep looking at me for? Doesn't what I said make sense?"
"No, I was thinking, you're right, Ryan."
Ryan let out a laugh, "I didn't get the impression that you were complimenting me."
There was nothing I could necessarily do to change my father, but Lena's father, I hadn't met.
I didn't stay at the bar for too long because I had other things to do.
Lena was very obedient and was working very hard when I returned.
I put the coffee next to her and she politely said thank you to me.
"I've been wondering if I should want to relay your situation to your father so he doesn't worry."
I noticed that Lena's movements suddenly paused for a moment, and then, she continued tapping skillfully on the keyboard.
The tone was even flat: "No, Rafael, he won't worry about me."
I don't know what she was thinking, but something was certain, her situation was a little different from what I had thought before.
I didn't rush her, but stood by her side and watched her work earnestly.
Lena suddenly looked up at me, "Don't you have something of your own to do?"
Strangely enough, I was very aware that she was giving me an eviction order, but I wasn't angry about it.
"You're angry?"
Lena turned her head away, "No, I didn't, I just don't think you should bother me while I'm working."
"But I gave you the job," I warned with a soft exit.
As if suddenly deflated, Lena spread her hands and looked at me, "I'm sorry, boss, so you want to hear the story of me and my father?"
That's necessarily not a good story.
But Lena's tone was light, she just talked about her poor relationship with her father, a stepmother, and stepsister who hated her, and didn't want to talk much else.
"Then it's my turn." I looked at Lena and was gently poked by something in my heart, probably because Lena's gaze was so feisty that it gave me an urge to comfort her.
After hearing me say this, her expression softened.
"Most families of our origin are family unions, and it's no surprise to my parents."
"Don't your parents love each other?"
"At least I know that my father didn't like my mother at all."
Having said that, my words have taken on a bit of sarcasm.
"So, I'm sorry to say this, but did your mother divorce your father and then get married again?"
"How is it possible, if the divorce, his company will also be impressed, I instead hope that my mother can let go in style, at least then she can keep her one life." Speaking of here is, I have begun to feel my throat is caught, of course, the sadness has been very little, more or regret.
I chose to ignore the matter at first.
Lena looked worried, and I reached out and rubbed her head.
"My father secretly left William with a woman he liked, and I know very well that I am as innocent as he is, and I could probably have accepted such a brother if my mother had not died because of this incident."
Lena's brow furrowed and she stood up as if to say something to me, but I interrupted her, "I still mostly hate my father, Lena, do you understand?"
Not only did he ruin my mother and the woman he liked himself, but he also ruined me and ruined us.
I did not say these words, I did not want to hurt Lena, at such a time, but, Lena's next words came out, but I was a little surprised.
