Chapter 85 Suddenly accosted
(Lena's POV)
It's like a disaster!
Oh my God!
Jamie didn't seem to expect to hit anyone else either, and the woman screamed before falling to one side.
It was too late for me to stop this. However, tragedy didn't seem to happen because this was a beach, so even if someone did fall, they wouldn't be hurt.
But, after all, it was Jamie who was at fault, so I still quickly ran over. When I tried to pick up the woman who had fallen, she surprisingly pushed me away directly.
"I don't need it!" The woman gave me a look, her eyes looked very disgusted, and seemed to resent my touch.
Not really caring about that, I sighed and got back to my feet, then pulled Jamie to my side.
When the other man stood up, I said to Jamie, "Apologies quickly, Jamie."
Jamie seemed to be shocked too. Jamie clutched my shirt tightly, but, I knew Jamie was not a bad boy, and if he was really at fault, he would have apologized sincerely, but the woman did not give Jamie a chance.
"As I said, I don't need your apologies at all." The woman stood up, and she looked us up and down in large numbers.
"I'm sorry." I looked at her and said very sincerely.
At this time, I instead remembered what happened inside the restaurant earlier.
I don't know how the waiter finally solved it.
However, since this woman won't let the waiter off that easily, she shouldn't let us off that easily either.
I was ready for anything.
But things didn't go in the direction I thought they would.
The woman was still angry, but, she didn't keep holding on to us: "Remember to watch the road, and don't be so reckless when you're out with your kids."
I blinked.
This woman seems to have lost the arrogance she had just now.
However, after seeing my lack of response, she glared at me again.
I nod my head in agreement.
The woman seemed to have something going on as well, she didn't continue to say anything and just turned around and left.
That was a good thing. I breathed a sigh of relief and waited until the woman was far enough away before I turned my head to look at Jamie.
Although I did resent Jamie's disobedience somewhat, my heart softened when I saw Jamie looking at me with a guilty face and two big teary eyes.
"Forget it, Jamie, walk slowly and don't bump into anyone else, okay?"
When I finished helplessly, Jamie smiled again.
I instantly felt cheated again.
It seems that Jamie and Rafael do look more than just alike.
I held Jamie's swimming ring, then walked down to the beach, looked at the crowds coming and going on the beach, and took out my sunglasses straight away.
Not far away, a group of people was playing beach volleyball. The sound of their laughter carried over.
I had no intention of getting in the water, and when I saw Jamie, he was there playing in the sand, so I simply laid down and watched their volleyball game while applying sunscreen.
The man with the blond hair hit the ball over, however, he seemed to have a little too much force and the girl on the opposite side did not succeed in catching it.
The girl groaned with some remorse, but no one cared about that. A new race began, and they ran and jumped together, chasing and playing on the beach.
For a moment, my heart went to them.
I couldn't help but laugh as I glanced at Jamie to make sure Jamie was still with me, and then, I continued to keep my eyes on them. However, as I looked over at them, I noticed that they had stopped.
I saw the companion of the man with blond hair reach out his hand and point in my direction, and although I wasn't sure if they saw me, I still felt like I should have left by now.
So I stood up and walked over to Jamie: "Jamie, want to go swimming together?"
After Jamie heard what I said, he cheered straight away.
I took Jamie's swimming ring and looked back at the young men, who were still looking at me, as I walked toward the ocean.
I'm not going to care about these things.
Because Jamie is still too young, so, I dare not take him too far away.
We were together near the beach, Jamie didn't know how to swim, but I wasn't going to take him with me.
At this time, I instead began to regret why I did not bring Raphael along.
At least, in this case, I can play with confidence for a while.
Perhaps God heard my wish, and it wasn't long before I found myself surrounded by more people.
Moreover, among them, there are even those who just played big volleyball on the shore.
A woman swam up to me and she looked at me and winked, "Hi! Are you by yourself?"
I held out my finger and pointed at Jamie: "And him."
"So, it's just the two of you?"
I nodded and the girl looked a little excited, "He's your brother?"
I was a little embarrassed for a moment, but, I let out a laugh, "No, actually, he's my kid."
The girl's smile suddenly disappeared, she looked at me and couldn't help but glance towards her back.
While I was wondering what she was planning to do, the girl said, "Wait a minute!"
I felt puzzled, but that wasn't something I needed to be concerned about.
The girl wandered away and she went back to her friends. It looked as if several of them were discussing me.
However, I don't feel they have any ill will towards me.
When I hesitated to leave now, the girl swam towards me again, but this time, she was followed by a few more people.
"Hi, I'm Emily, this is Anna, this is Justin, and this is-"
The blond-haired boy swam forward a bit, and then, he came to me, and the moment he surfaced slightly, I saw his abs: "Gavin."
"Yes, this is Gavin." Emily let out a laugh, "Honestly, I hope we don't scare you like this, we noticed you when we were on the beach earlier, and actually, we want to make friends with you."
"Of course not, my name is Lena." I looked over to Emily and said, "You guys played well, and I saw you."
"I thought we'd be the same age because you look really - I mean, young." The black boy named Justin said.
When I heard this, I was happy to say, "Thank you!"
No one hates it when people say they look young unless they are young, and of course, I know I'm already a few years older than them, although I don't look old either.
"So, want to go play volleyball with us later?"
I blinked and didn't say anything.
Now it's time to think about it.
"As much as I appreciate you guys coming to invite me, I have to take care of my son." I reached out and rubbed Jamie's head as he lay on his back on the swimming ring and looked at me.
"If you don't mind, we can babysit for you," Emily said sincerely.
I couldn't believe it was true.
However, as I was about to say yes, I hesitated again.
After all, I had only just met them and didn't know them well. And, while Jamie was well behaved in front of me, he was not so in front of outsiders.
Only God knows how painful it was for Miller to take care of Jamie.
So, I still shook my head, "As much as I'd like to accept it, I think it's better to"
Without waiting for me to finish, Emily looked directly at Jamie on the side and said, "Little brother, does Suck want to play with me?"
Jamie saw no glance at Emily.
However, Emily did not give up: "How about my sister going to buy you ice cream later?"
Jamie remained immersed in his world.
I closed my eyes in some despair.
Emily took a deep breath: "Whatever you want, my sister will give it to you."
I let out a sigh.
I knew these results, of course. After all, Jamie was not completely well, and, even if Jamie did get well, his personality would not be particularly lively.
It is normal to ignore Emily.
Just as I was about to interrupt Emily, something surprising happened to me.
Jamie suddenly looked up and he looked at me and said, "Mom, do you want to go swimming?"
Suddenly I didn't know what to say.
Jamie is a very smart kid, he has a very delicate mind and always notices things that others do not easily notice.
Perhaps, Jamie had already noticed that I wanted to go swimming this thing, only, he never knew how to say to me.
Perhaps, in his perception, I can go swimming by myself as long as someone plays with him.
My mood was a little sour and I vowed to do it again with Rafael when I got back this time.
"No, Mom doesn't want to go."
But Jamie didn't believe what I said, "I'll play with my sister, you go swimming." I simply don't know how to describe how I feel right now.
Emily cheered directly after she heard what Jamie said, and then, looking to me, she said in a very confident voice, "Don't worry, I'll take care of Jamie."
I gently kissed Jamie's practice sword and was very grateful for his understanding, "Jamie, I'll be back soon."
Since Jamie was already taken care of, I was able to feel completely at ease.
However, it seems that only Emily stayed there, and the others followed after I left.
Anna didn't follow me for long. Gavin seemed to want to take care of Anna, so he kept following her.
Only Justin kept following me not far away.
We swam out together for a long time, and when we were about to pass the offshore range, Justin called out to me, "It's time to go back."
When I turned back, I almost ran into Justin's arms.
