Chapter 18 Who is the fiancee
(William's POV)
I dialed the phone and only after a long sound did the person pick up the phone.
"Hello?"
"It's been a long time, Rachel."
I heard Rachel humming softly before, continuing in her overly sweet tone, "Long time no see, why are you calling me?"
"There are some things I probably have to tell you, otherwise, I'm worried you'll be shocked when you get back home."
I was happy to hear that Rachel was getting nervous, as she always does, and now she was probably thinking of flying over from the other end of the phone and beating me up.
However, even if she was in a hurry, I'm afraid it wouldn't do any good.
"Yes, that's what happened."
"I don't understand what's so good about that woman that it's worthy of your attention."
"What's so great about Raphael that it's worthy of your attention?"
I was not angry, on the contrary, still talking to Rachel in a very calm tone, but she taunted me with a very sharp voice.
"Can I be the same as her? You and Raphael can be the same? But waste is a waste, and you don't have to worry about it, when I go back to my country, I can go back next month."
I do not feel the coldness of my complexion. However, in this situation now, even if I were to snap at Rachel, I'm afraid that nothing good would come out of it.
"I'll see you there."
Rachel didn't say goodbye to me, she just hung up the phone. I listened to the sound in the driveway and was suddenly a little powerless.
For all the prejudices of all people, what I hate the most will always be Raphael who caused it.
I hated the fact that he had such a legitimate identity, that I would probably always have to call myself an illegitimate child, and that all my efforts would never be seen by my father as long as Rafael was around.
This seems to be taken for granted in the eyes of everyone, whether they are my friends or my enemies.
I have questioned myself as to why I must compete with Raphael for Lena.
Just like it used to be, just be a good boy and let go and let Raphael get all she wants after I follow behind and pick up the trash.
But I'm tired of living like this.
Only Lena wouldn't care who I was, as long as she told me William was William.
I am not the shadow behind Raphael, I have not been for a long time.
(Lena's POV)
I pushed the door open and after meeting with William, it was myself who was the vainest.
But I shouldn't let that scare me.
But my beating heart betrayed me.
The hall was empty, and I was now glad that Raphael just had a maid a butler only, not a whole house full of underlings like a medieval nobleman.
Of course, it turns out that I celebrated too soon.
"Where have you been, Lena?"
I felt that my whole body was frozen with blood, and there was no way to even breathe properly, and even my movements began to stiffen.
Then I looked over at the voice and saw Raphael sitting on the couch, looking at me with those eyes that had little warmth.
"I went out to meet someone."
I heard myself say so, and of course, Raphael was bound to get to the bottom of it.
"Meet who?"
"Nina."
"Only her?"
I looked at Rafael, took a deep breath, and then, I walked over to him.
I guess that he has guessed what happened, and, perhaps, even more than the truth.
"William."
Rafael stood up, he walked up to me and looked at me condescendingly, then, without waiting for me to react, he reached out and cupped my chin, forcing me to look up at him, "Lena, have I been too lenient with you lately?"
I was hurt by him, his strength seemed to become great in an instant, and I don't doubt that he would have crushed my jaw if I had said anything more outrageous.
"I met with him to work out some things."
"What is it?"
I heard my voice tremble, "I told him I wouldn't go with him."
Rafael's sulking expression gentled for a moment, and he let go of my face and tilted his head to breathe a soft sigh of relief.
When I thought it was over, Rafael suddenly took me into his arms, which took me by surprise.
To be honest, I didn't at all didn't expect that Rafael would come back so early, and most of all, why didn't he think I was going to the office?
But there is no more time to think about everything.
Raphael was no longer as cranky with me as he was before, but this time, his movements were anything but gentle.
He held me down on the bed and I struggled to break free of his movements. It wasn't that I didn't want to do anything with him, but I didn't want to be in the present.
"Rafael, calm down!"
"I have to tell you when you should be somewhat self-conscious, Lena, if you hadn't come back today, do you think I would have let you off so easily?"
"But I'm back! Rafael, I'm back!" I didn't cry, but my face had turned red, and he probably woke up at the sound of my voice and eventually stopped moving.
My clothes were already hanging on me in a very messy way. Of course, I didn't care about that anymore, I cared about the rest.
I looked at Raphael and whispered, "But I'm already back, Raphael, are you going to make me regret my decision?"
Raphael's gaze was finally no longer as cold as before, and he gently caressed my cheek with his palm, and for a moment, we both calmed down.
"Lena, I said I would marry you, but if you can't behave, this is going to be a difficult thing to do."
I nodded, "I'll do as you say."
It's within my power.
I didn't expect that the matter would pass so easily.
Rafael still vented his frustration on me in bed that day, but of course, I seemed to have no other recourse than to suffer in silence.
However, apart from that, the most comforting thing for me was that he rarely mentioned William's affairs after that.
After spending a considerable amount of time in this peaceful manner, Rafael took two tickets and put them in front of me after the next month arrived.
"What is this?"
"To prevent you from having anything else on your mind, Lena, we're going to the Maldives early for our honeymoon, and tomorrow you pack your things and leave the day after tomorrow."
Hearing this, I almost didn't spit out the water in my mouth.
Honeymoon? You haven't even received your marriage license yet, and you're going on a honeymoon?
(Rachel's POV)
The first news I heard after returning home almost smashed me.
"Ava, say it clearly, what do you mean a woman is living in Raphael's house?!" The anger in my voice simply could not be hidden, and the whole person was about to explode like a balloon.
This news made me so angry that I got wrinkles.
A beautiful woman has to keep a peaceful mind. I always heard my mom tell me this, but the problem is that now I simply can't keep a bit of sanity.
I want to rush into Raphael's house right now and see what kind of bitch he's been seduced by!
Ava pulled me back as soon as she could.
"Hey! Honey, calm down a little!"
I turned my head to look at Ava, and she was calm. Of course, after all, it was not her fiancé who was seduced away, so of course, she would not be anxious.
"Don't you talk down to me here!"
Ava gave me a look, but he=she still reached out and patted my shoulder: "Ava, think carefully, what kind of person is Rafael? Do you think, if he wants to marry that person, his father can not know? Do you think, if a random person, really can pass his father's eyes? Don't forget what happened at the beginning, since the Hill family hasn't even released any rumors now, the odds are that Rafael will just play around with it, so why are you in a hurry?"
But even if Ava said more comforting words, my mood could not be calmed down.
"No, this matter, I have to go to Raphael and ask for clarification!"
After I went to Hill Group, I realized that Rafael had changed the door to his office on one side again. This simply made me even angrier, and thankfully he didn't even let me in the door.
"Rafael, why did you change the door again?!"
He ignored my questioning and very blandly picked up the phone aside and dialed out.
I heard him calling security.
"Hey! Rafael, I just got back, and even if you don't pick me up at the airport, you're kicking me out when I come to you? What do you mean?"
"Had enough of the noise?" Raphael suddenly looked up, and I was so close to him that I didn't feel any fear even though he was looking at me with a warning gaze.
The big deal is to take it to his father.
"No, Rafael, if you don't tell me today what your relationship with that woman is, we're not done today."
I think I have made my attitude clear, who knows, Rafael looked at me and was not even going to say anything.
"I don't care if you play women outside, can you not lead those dirty things back home, or what will you let me do?"
"Why aren't you talking now? You talk instead!"
My pitch was higher than a sentence, and at this time, I was thankful that Raphael's office was soundproof.
When I thought Raphael was finally scared of my whole thing, he suddenly looked up at me.
"What are you looking at me for?"
"Rachel, you just got back, and I don't want to argue with you, but there's one more thing you need to get straight."
"What?"
"The woman you're talking about is my fiancée."
I could no longer control my emotions, and for a moment, I couldn't even think properly.
Rafael still looked aloof.
At this time, I suddenly heard someone open the door and walk in, I turned around and looked over, I swear, that woman's face I will never forget in my life.
"I'm sorry, am I interrupting something?"
The expression on her face stiffened for a moment, but I think she probably didn't look as bad as I did.
I watched her exit and close the door, and when I looked at Rafael again, he had a surprisingly rare smile on his face.
"Who is she?"
I shuddered and questioned.
Then I heard Rafael answer, "My fiancée."
