Chapter 93 Awakening

(Justin's POV)
Rafael is indeed very beaten up, and I really can't figure out what it is that Lena likes about him.
I felt distracted and even had the urge to run after a few steps out.
"Rafael!!!" The very moment I tried to run away, I heard Lena's scream from the distance.
I turned around violently and then ran wildly in the direction of Lena.
Then I saw that Rafael was already covered in blood, and he was desperately trying to block Lena's face, and the man with the tattoo was still stabbing him in the stomach with the knife.
I felt my scalp tingle, and for a moment, the sweat seemed to stand up all over.
"I'm going to kill you all!" The man was still screaming.
In the next second, I had rushed over. Then, my fist slammed down heavily on the man's head.
The man's knife eventually did not fall, but instead, he slowly went down.
I felt my heart beating so fast that if I had been one step later, Raphael might have been killed by him.
I gasped violently, and by the time I came back to my senses, Lena's face had turned very pale, and her tears would not stop at all, but Lena still tried to stop Raphael's blood from continuing to flow out.
I walked over and tried to check if Lena was hurt, but, the moment I got close to Lena, Lena reached out her hand to stop me from getting close to her.
"Lena, I just wanted to check up on you."
Lena looked up and she looked at me, but, although Lena's eyes were filled with fear and panic, she remained calm.
"Justin, get the doctor for me, now." It was the first time I saw Lena show this look.
Lena has always been gentle and does not show such obvious wariness when dealing with strangers.
I don't understand why Lena would not allow me to get close.
Raphael's condition was indeed very serious, his clothes had been stained with blood, but his face was devoid of any breath, and he looked as if he was already dead.
I can completely understand Lena's feelings, but I don't feel comfortable leaving Lena here alone.
"Go on!" Lena said to me again.
I glanced at Lena, whose face already wore a majesty that would not allow me to refuse.
I opened my mouth to voice my concerns. But at that moment, Raphael suddenly coughed, and then, he spat out a mouthful of blood.
Lena bowed her head in panic as she gently stroked Raphael's cheek, doing her best to look composed even though her face was already covered in tears.
"Rafael, can you hear me? God will bless you, hold on just a little longer."
I didn't end up saying anything.
Then I turned around and ran desperately toward that side.
I was resigned to the fact that Lena was indeed far stronger than she seemed and that she liked Raphael more than I thought she would.
I didn't want to admit it, but the truth was right in front of me.
I knew that perhaps Lena could only accept my presence if Raphael was no longer there.
But -
I don't want to see Lena sad.
My gaze became firm and my foot speed became faster.
(Lena's POV)
I felt like my heart was going to stop and I screamed out the moment Raphael blocked that slash for me.
I tried to push Raphael out of the way, but, Raphael was already guarding my face.
The tattooed man looked at me with a fierce look on his face as he smiled at me, seemingly proclaiming his victory.
I didn't feel fear. At that moment, there was only one thought in my head - I couldn't let Rafael die.
I hoped that someone would come to his rescue in a hurry, whoever it was, but there was none.
God did not hear my prayer.
Rafael stood in my way and the men continued to hurt him.
The scene was chaotic and all I could seem to hear was my screams.
But it shouldn't be!
At this time, the man's movements suddenly stopped and I took Raphael into my arms, struggling desperately to pull away to a safe distance.
But such an effort seems ridiculous.
The man shook his head vigorously as he looked at me and said, "You know what? I like to see you beautiful women in pain, when I killed that woman's son, she had that same look on her face."
"Crazy!" I cursed in a low voice, my eyes filled with anger.
If a person's eyes could be used to kill, the man in front of him would probably be dead already.
But that's just my fantasy.
Raphael groaned in pain, his consciousness hadn't completely faded, but I knew that if I didn't do something about it, it might be too late.
I reached out and tried to plug Raphael's wound to stop the blood from continuing to flow out of him.
The men broke out in laughter after seeing this scene.
He continued to walk towards us.
"We can give you anything you want, as long as you leave us alone." I even began to plead.
But the man didn't stop, he walked up to me and said, "I want your lives."
"Rafael!"
I thought we were dead this time, but, just as I was getting desperate, Justin came back in time.
I was just about to open my mouth and call out when the man kicked me in the side.
I let go of Rafael.
"No! Don't!"
Just as the man's knife was about to fall on Rafael, Justin finally arrived.
Thank God he stopped everything.
I couldn't care less about the pain in my body, I quickly got up and ran to Raphael's front.
Tears fell uncontrollably from my eyes, "Please, Raphael, don't leave me."
I looked up, almost pleading with Justin.
I know what Justin is worried about, but, I'm not scared.
The only thing I'm afraid of is that Rafael will die.
Justin eventually said yes to me.
The waiting time was very torturous, I felt my heart was dripping blood, I would rather these pains fall on my body, I do not want to see something happen to Rafael.
I gently wiped the sweat off Raphael's cheeks and silently prayed to God for him.
Raphael's mouth, however, continued to call my name.
Until the paramedics arrived, Rafael did not open his eyes.
I simply don't know how I spent this night.
Rafael was taken to the nearest hospital and resuscitated for a full seven hours, only to be wheeled out of surgery at 5:00 a.m. the next morning.
When the doctor came out, I rushed over to ask about the situation.
The doctor looked at me and said, "What is your relationship with the patient?"
"He is my lover."
My voice has become hoarse and even my eyes have become swollen from crying.
I was worried about hearing any bad news, but I knew that Jamie would be more worried if I was defeated now, so I tried to look strong.
The doctor continued, "Although the operation was successful, the patient is not out of danger for the time being and needs to stay in the hospital for observation, and the subsequent recovery will take more time."
I nodded my head.
Hearing that the surgery was successful gave me some slight relief.
"Hard work."
The doctor gave a few more brief explanations and then left.
I went to Rafael's hospital room, Jamie had fallen asleep on the edge of the bed, and Rafael never woke up.
I went to the bedside, reached out, and gently stroked Jamie's head, and once again the tears fell uncontrollably.
Still, I wiped away my tears when I heard footsteps behind me.
I turned around and saw Justin standing in the doorway: "The police asked me about the specifics, maybe they'll come to you in a few minutes, don't worry, those people have been arrested."
I nodded and smiled at Justin, "Thank you, Justin, yesterday was too much, and I can't imagine exactly what it would have been if you hadn't been there."
Justin said nothing as he walked into the hospital room and then closed the door behind him.
"Lena, I'm only doing this for you."
I didn't know what to say, so I kept silent.
I took another look at Raphael, who was sleeping peacefully and still had no intention of waking up.
"Emily doesn't know about this yet, and I'll tell her afterward to help take care of some Jamie first," Justin said.
I shook my head, "No, Jamie I'll take care of it, it's already bothering you guys too much."
"You can't take care of it, Lena."
"I can."
"Lena!" Justin's voice suddenly became louder and I glanced at Justin, who looked game angry, but soon his voice calmed down again.
"I know you want to do something, but if you can't even take care of yourself, there's no way you can take care of them both, can you understand what I'm saying?"
My brow furrowed Qionglai, but not because of anger, but because of powerlessness.
Justin was right.
I didn't rest for almost the whole day, and after Raphael was taken to the hospital, my nerves were in a high state of tension. Now I don't have any strength to take care of others.
"You stay and take care of Rafael, and Jamie will leave it to Emily, okay?"
I nodded my head.
Justin finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"So, you shouldn't go back for a while."
"Yes, wait until Raphael wakes up, and then we will discuss other things."
I know that Rafael still has to take care of his company.
I took a deep breath and suddenly felt a tremendous amount of pressure. But I can't stop now.
The next day, I told Landon about it, reached out to Bob afterward, and waited until everything was taken care of to keep watch over Rafael in the hospital room.
Eventually, because of physical exhaustion, I fell into a deep sleep.
Probably because of the events of the past few days, I had a dream in which I saw that I was also lying unconscious in a hospital bed for some reason, and Rafael kept watch over me.
I suddenly opened my eyes and Rafael was looking at me.
