Chapter 33 Lena's ability

(Lena's POV)
Miller helped me bring my glass of water and, at the same time, brought over a dessert for me.
It's nice to live like that.
At least, that's what I thought after a few days of living like this. I think, even if I keep living here until my child is born, it doesn't matter.
But soon my mind was changed.
I don't want to be here all the time. I want to work, or whatever, and if I were to stay here all the time, I'd probably just go crazy.
Miller reassured me very patiently, but such reassurance did not have any effect.
I looked over at Miller and sighed softly, "Miller, you're working now too, aren't you? I know I'm pregnant, but I'm still mobile and I'm perfectly capable of doing something I can do instead of staying home all the time and I feel like I'm going to be sick."
Miller looked at me and shook his head gently: "Madam, otherwise, you continue to talk to the gentleman about this matter, and perhaps, if you ask a few more times, he will agree to you."
I have tried many times I understand Rafael's concerns, but I think that his kind of concern is completely superfluous.
We had been arguing for a long time, and just when I wanted to give up, Raphael's father suddenly came to me.
Yes, it is to come to me.
When I first met Mr. Hill, he and Rafael were so much alike that one could understand at once that they were father and son. Only, there was no warmth in Mr. Hill's eyes, and the kind of tenderness in Rafael's eyes when he looked at me, he did not.
I did not fear him, even though I knew that he might not support my marriage to Rafael.
Mr. Hill nodded to me, which probably counted as a greeting. I responded politely and then sat down in front of him.
"Good morning, Rafael has gone to the office and will not be back until the evening."
"It's not closed, Lena, I just came to see you specifically."
I nodded, and my hands in my lap were subconsciously clasped together. Mr. Hill did not care about my nervousness, he still had a cold face and looked very unapproachable.
"I don't think you're the most qualified person for the job, either by origin or by your qualities."
I know, I've always been well aware that an heir like the Hill family certainly can't sway his marriage at will. But Rafael did do that.
I looked at Mr. Hill without any fear: "If you are here to persuade me to leave Raphael, I think that Raphael and I have answered that."
We ended up getting married and no one could separate us unless we wanted to.
Mr. Hill gave a surprising laugh after hearing what I said. Although his laugh didn't sound very pleasant.
"Lena, I will not let you leave Raphael, I have to admit that there is no way for me to control Raphael anymore, however, there is one thing I can still do."
Mr. Hill looked at me, "I could take the company back from Raphael, as is my right, but I wouldn't do it without any reason."
My eyebrows raised.
Perhaps, he came to me with another purpose.
I took a deep breath and put my pretense down for good. Mr. Hill was already another father in name only, but I knew he didn't acknowledge me.
He came to test me, he wanted to see if I was strong enough or not.
"Recently Raphael is not serious enough about his work, there are still many problems in the company, Lena, you do not have much time, I think, you should not be willing to see, I expelled you and Raphael together from the Hill family, right?"
The corners of my mouth hooked up.
At first, when Raphael was telling me about his once, I simply felt that growing up in this way, they had no choice but to accept this harsh truth, whether it was Raphael or his father.
But, now my mind has changed.
They may only have profit in their eyes.
Only the most useful people can stay until the end.
"Father, perhaps I can call you that."
I saw his eyes narrow, and Raphael resembled him, but I knew that my behavior wasn't annoying to him.
So, I continued, "I will help Raphael and together we will prove it to you."
After Mr. Hill got my promise, he left.
His life seemed low-key, and when he arrived, he was just riding in a relatively expensive car.
Bob didn't look very good on his face. His expression has been like this since Mr. Hill left.
"Bob, is there something you want to say to me?"
Bob looked at me and sighed.
"If you have something you want to say, you'd better tell me directly."
I had gotten that far, and Bob finally spoke up.
"Ma'am, I know there's probably not much you can do about it right now, but since Mr. Raphael's father has come to remind us, there may be something wrong with the company that hasn't been discovered by now."
My heartfelt like it had suddenly been stung.
I sighed softly, looked in the direction Mr. Hill had left, and said to Bob, "Don't tell Raphael about this and don't say that his father approached me, got it?"
"But, madam, are you sure-"
"Yes, I'm pretty sure, Bob." I turned to look at Bob.
If at first I just wanted to go out to work because I was bored, now I just have a very clear reason.
I'm going to get out of here and stand by Raphael's side, and I'm going to prove to everyone that I'm fully capable of standing by Raphael's side.
My gaze became very firm. No one can make me change my mind.
Rafael finally agreed with me, but even when he put me to work, the work was very easy and simple.
Just when I thought I had to clarify this with Raphael, I once again received a piece of information that, in this case, was related to the Hill Group's funding.
God probably thought He had already shortchanged me a lot, so He gave me this opportunity.
Raphael's face was not very nice after he consulted the information himself. It was the first time I saw him show such an expression, not an angry one, but a very complicated one. His gaze eased only when I gently took his hand.
For two days after this, Rafael worked late before coming home. I know that this is what Mr. Hill said was the problem.
That night, after Rafael came back, I opened my arms and gave him a big hug.
After the initial misunderstanding was cleared up, our relationship eased up a lot.
Rafael held me tightly as he kissed my cheek, but I could still feel his exhaustion.
"Rafael, pick up and relax a little when you get home, and we can think about work tomorrow," I reassured him in this way.
Raphael stroked my cheek, his gaze was gentle and his eyes were filled with love. But I know him, Raphael will not relax because of my few words, until the problem is solved, he will always be in this state.
What went wrong with the Hill Group had nothing to do with me, but seeing the state of Rafael made me feel very sad.
Rafael thought I was asleep, and after the lovemaking, he got up and left, presumably to go to his study. I quickly followed, and when I gently pushed open the study door, I saw that he had once again opened his computer and was looking through the information.
Rafael gave me a faint look, "Aren't you sleepy, Lena? If you want me to sleep with you, I probably can't today."
I didn't answer his words, but walked in and sat next to him.
Perhaps because Rafael trusted me so much, or perhaps because he thought I didn't understand the data at all, he didn't have any desire to avoid me even when Rafael was working on the core data of the Hill Group.
Then I took the counting mouse in his hand, circled part of the area, and pointed it out to him: "Honey, this piece of the problem is not very obvious, but I feel that this is probably the root cause, and if you want to solve it completely, you should first investigate some of this part of the people."
Rafael narrowed his eyes, he did not comment but looked at me quietly.
I looked over at him and suddenly felt a little impulsive to do so.
After all, anyone but myself would think I shouldn't know this. If I wasn't Raphael's wife, I would suspect that I was the one who was most suspect.
But Raphael suddenly laughed a little.
He once again put his eyes on the computer screen and looked at it very carefully.
Five minutes later, Raphael gave me a response, "You're right, Lena."
My heart let go.
Thank God.
Raphael suddenly reached out and he wrapped his arms around my waist, and before I could react, I was in his arms.
"What are you doing!"
Rafael looked at me, "Lena, I don't remember letting you know about this."
My gaze went elsewhere as Raphael pinched my cheek, forcing me to look at him.
Then I laughed, a laugh that sounded very awkward: "But you didn't say you wouldn't let me know that either, did you?"
Raphael kissed me, and his kiss was so gentle that it even gave me a feeling of being trapped.
Before I felt like I couldn't breathe, Raphael let go of me, "Lena, if you wanted to, you could have just told me instead of sneaking off to do this."
"Raphael, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't have volunteered to do this."
"So you let Bob keep it from me?"
"I would have guessed he would have told you."
I gave Rafael a helpless smile, but I wasn't angry or upset.
I looked at Raphael and said in a very serious tone, "So, do you need my help?"
I knew that Rafael would not refuse.
