Chapter 46 Jamie's mother

(Lena's POV)
Yes, in front of my eyes, it was indeed a small child.
When I rubbed my eyes hard, this child still did not disappear, he still sat in front of me very well behaved.
I am not hallucinating.
Of course, the presence of small children here is a very unusual thing, I quickly calm down.
I took a deep breath, and this time, being much more awake, I could indeed stand up.
However, my body is still a bit out of control.
I glanced around this warehouse and finally, landed on this child.
"Baby, can you tell me how you got in here?"
My throat was still a little sore and my words came out a little hoarse, but I was doing my best to be amiable.
The little boy had no expression, he looked at me with wide eyes and did not answer my question.
I exhaled, then walked over to him and squatted down.
When I got closer, I realized that this child's eyes were also purple.
At that moment, it was as if something had hit my heart.
A very absurd thought appeared in my mind: if, at first, my child also came out smoothly, would we also have the same eyes.
The little boy didn't leave me much time to grieve, he suddenly lunged towards me and jumped directly into my arms, and because of my unstable weight, I fell hard to the ground.
However, because of the position at the beginning, I didn't feel much pain.
But the little boy looked as if he was frightened, and he quickly climbed off me, then carefully stroked me as if checking to see if I was hurt.
My heart warmed, and soon, I made up my mind again.
My child is no more, the past is the past, but, whatever the cost, I will deliver this child successfully.
"It's okay baby, I didn't fall sore, can you tell me what your name is?"
"Jamie." The little boy's voice was very clear. After hearing that I was okay, his expression eased.
I stood up again, holding the wall and walking around, trying to find something: "Okay, Jamie, listen to me, I think, we have to think of something, otherwise, we might not get out all the time, got it?"
At this time, I suddenly felt a tug on my coat, Jamie had come over, he did not seem to be afraid at all but tugged on my shirt with great force.
I looked at him and blinked, then I reached out and pulled him in, and in the darkness, I smiled softly at Jamie: "Let's look together to see if there's anything that can help us escape."
My head still hurts and my body hurts, but I no longer feel fear inside.
Maybe it was Jamie's presence that comforted me and made me not so scared. Or, more likely, it was because I wanted to take Jamie with me to escape, so I couldn't show any fear.
I was holding on to the wall, moving very slowly, and at this time, I suddenly felt something under my feet. When I crouched down, only then did I see what it was.
Ladders!
A smile appeared on my face.
It is a wooden ladder that looks like it has been in place for a long time.
Although it has been a bit worn out, however, it looks like it can still be used.
"Good, Jamie, looks like you've brought me luck and we can escape."
Jamie looked at me, his eyes very bright, and nodded heavily after hearing what I said.
I didn't have time to be heartened by Jamie's lovely reaction, because now, I didn't know exactly how long had passed, and everything should wait until after I escaped.
The ladder did not look heavy, but it was still a little difficult to drag with my strength alone. However, after some effort, I managed to move the ladder to the bottom of the window.
I took a deep breath.
"Very well, Jamie, it's still a little difficult at this altitude, but with me, I should be able to get you straight out."
Jamie suddenly wrapped his arms around my thighs: "No! Let's go together!"
My heartfelt warmth and my gaze changed from surprise to tenderness.
Then I squatted down and took Jamie in my arms.
I don't know if I can escape, but if there is no way for me to get out, let me selfishly treat Jamie as my child for the time being.
How wonderful it would be if he were my child.
I quickly got out of my own emotions and then, I released Jamie with a very firm tone, "Jamie, I don't know if I'm strong enough, but, as long as you get out, I can be saved, do you understand?"
Jamie still doesn't seem willing to cooperate.
"Do as you're told, Jamie."
He finally nodded, and I knew that Jamie had understood what I meant.
Jamie is still not able to climb the ladder up by himself. At this time, instead, I do not know where I got the strength, I can hold Jamie with one hand. Then, we quickly climbed to the top.
That window was hard to push open, and Jamie and I pushed together before it was finally opened by us.
I took a deep breath and then, reaching out with both hands to prop Jamie up, he reached out with great effort, but could not reach the window.
I know this is dangerous, but, I have no other choice.
I stepped on the ladder, my toes already on tiptoe. Finally, Jamie touched the window, and with one push, he managed to climb up.
I didn't have time to encourage him because at that moment, my feet slipped and my whole body went up in the air.
I don't know exactly what I'm thinking right now, because it's so clear what's going to happen next that I'm not in a position to make a thought.
At the last moment of the fall, I saw Jamie turn his head and yell something at me, but, I didn't hear what he said. He looked flustered, even with fear, and reached out, trying to grab me. Of course, he couldn't do it.
I thought of my children, and for a moment, it seemed like I saw that car coming at me five years ago.
At the moment of the accident, I thought about many things, and after I saw Jamie, I remembered the strongest point.
Tears flowed from my eyes, and then, in despair, I closed them.
It turns out that what I was most afraid of at the time was losing my child.
(Rafael's POV)
Ryan looked more anxious than I did.
"Raphael, it's your child, why do I get the feeling you don't care at all?"
I heard Ryan yell at me, and then, I looked at him.
I do seem calmer than everyone else.
But I knew that Jamie wouldn't run out too far by himself, he must have suddenly noticed something and ran away.
Usually, people don't catch Jamie's eye, even Miller who has already been taking care of him for five years, and there are times when they can't get a response from him.
If there is something that can attract him, it must have something to do with a person.
My heart suddenly raced, but soon, I denied my thoughts again.
Lena couldn't have been here, and, even if I had been telling Jamie there was something about Lena, how could he have been recognizing her when he had never met his mother?
I continued to turn my attention to the surveillance in front of me.
At this time, Ryan suddenly received a phone call: "I'm busy here, what's the matter directly."
I didn't pay any attention to Ryan and continued to check the surveillance.
At this time, Brent suddenly came up to me, and I looked at him, not understanding what he meant.
After all, because of some personal reasons for him and me, our meeting had been postponed to the following week, and there was no need for him to stay on now.
Then I heard the male interpreter beside him say, "Dear Mr. Raphael, I'm sorry to bother you at this time, but while you're looking for your child, could you have Mr. Brandt look at the surveillance as well?"
I didn't really understand what Brandt meant, but I had no reason to refuse his request, and then, I nodded.
"I need to find someone, too." I heard Mr. Brandt explain to me in broken English.
My brow furrowed.
At this time, Ryan suddenly came up to me, slapped me on the shoulder very hard, and then excitedly told me, "Hey! Raphael, I'm sorry, I did have a little too much force just now, but, none of that matters, they found Jamie!"
Because of Jamie, I choose to forgive Ryan's recklessness for now.
We soon arrived in front of Jamie.
His body had become dirty, even his face was dusty, only his eyes, unspoiled.
"Hard work, guys."
"No, he was the one who suddenly ran over and grabbed us to move forward, poor kid, he must have been terrified." The attendant on the side looked at Jamie with a compassionate gaze.
At this time, I was instead a little puzzled.
"Work hard guys, go to work first." Ryan quickly dismissed the men.
I knew that he must have been terrified, and when I went over to hug him, Jamie suddenly pushed me away as if he was having a fit.
Then, he started to scream for no reason at all.
I knew that something must have irritated him.
"What's happening?" Ryan backed away with a look of horror.
I didn't have any expression, knowing that Jamie couldn't make any sound after he shouted himself, before I gently opened my mouth to ask him the reason: "Jamie, tell me, what did you see?"
Jamie looked over at me, his eyes widened, and then I heard the most unreal words: "Mom ...... It fell, I saw it, Mom."
After Jamie finished, my heart seemed to stop beating together.
