Chapter 47 Lena's memory loss

(Rafael's POV)
My breathing became more and more rapid, and the pace of my feet became faster and faster.
Jamie was also running fast, and he looked more anxious than I was.
I didn't believe Jamie when he first told me what he had seen. The boy always had his ideas, and there were times when even I might not have understood him myself.
I know that he also misses his mother.
But finding Lena was a very hopeless task.
"Very good, Jamie, what do you see?"
Jamie stopped talking, and I rarely had the opportunity to hear Jamie speak and say so many words in one breath.
"You said you saw mom? Did you see it? Or did you see it wrong, or identify someone else as Mom?" My tone became a little impatient, and at this time, I was eager to get an answer quickly.
But Jamie didn't continue to pay attention to me, he just yanked my clothes and was about to go elsewhere, and when I tried to refuse him, he started screaming.
I knew that I had to follow through and take a look.
When we reached our destination, he pointed to a tightly closed door and started shouting.
The mother he spoke of was inside.
My heartbeat became faster and faster.
Ryan didn't wait for me to say anything, he just had the key out to open the door.
I've never felt that time could be so long, every second felt like it was being stretched out.
When that door was opened, I rushed in at the first opportunity.
Then, I was struck by the sight before me.
My arms and legs were bound by something, and even breathing became a difficult thing.
The world seemed to stop at this moment, and nothing had anything to do with me - only one thing - I saw Lena, the love of my life that I had been looking for five years, lying calmly on the ground.
It was as if the five years had never existed.
I could not hear any sound, but my body had rushed forward uncontrollably.
The scene was chaotic and Jamie's cries and screams soon became clear as he would not allow anyone to touch Lena and even started pushing Ryan and the others.
As I picked Lena up off the floor, I finally heard my voice, hissing like a voice: "Ambulance! Call a doctor! Hurry!"
I still hadn't come out of this emotion, the joy and fear of reality kept pulling at me, Jamie grabbed me by the scruff of my shirt, and it wasn't until after I put Lena in the ambulance that I snapped out of it.
I picked up Jamie and gently wiped away his tears, "Good boy, Jamie, let's not make any noise about Mommy."
Jamie understood my words and he meekly kept his mouth shut. Soon, we arrived at the hospital together.
The doctor came over and looked at me with a very serious expression, "What is your relationship with the patient?"
"I'm her husband."
"Okay, let me briefly inform you that the patient has a cut on his thigh and has lost serious blood, if there is no way to find a matching blood type, his life will likely be in danger, so the family will be prepared in advance, understood?"
"Doctor, by all means, please do your best to save my wife."
It all happened fast. I watched as the lights came on in the operating room, but a heart that simply could not be calmed.
Jamie sat beside me, his eyes staring straight into the operating room.
It's almost 10:00 p.m. Jamie has always had a good routine and should have been in bed by this time. Lena is now facing a life-threatening situation, but, I don't want to see Jamie like this either.
I took out my phone and called Miller.
"Hey! Mr. Rafael! Is there any news from Madame?" Miller was also in an agitated mood, and before I could speak, she began to inquire anxiously.
"Lena's already in surgery, she'll be fine."
"That's good, that's good, thank God."
"Where are you now?"
"Bob and I are still at the bar, and your friend told us that if there was nothing else, we could go back."
"Don't go yet, have Bob drive over to the hospital, Jamie has had a lot of excitement today too, he needs to get some rest-"
Before I could finish my sentence, Jamie suddenly reached out to snatch my phone away from me.
I took a look at Jamie, then I realized that his eyes were already full of tears, I understood what Jamie meant, so I once again said into the phone, "Forget it, you guys don't come over today, Miller, you go back and remember to pack up all of Lena's things, we should be able to go back tomorrow morning, I'll take care of Jamie. "
Miller agreed, and then, I hung up the phone.
Jamie kept looking at me, and I looked down at him. It was the first time I had seen Jamie show such an expression. I reached out my book and gently touched his cheek, but he turned his head away from my movements.
"Are you messing with me, Jamie?"
Ignoring me, Jamie jumped out of his seat and then walked over to the door of the operating room, looking anxiously at the tightly closed door.
Because of his autism, Jamie would rarely initiate a conversation with anyone. Because of the urgency of the situation, I didn't even know if I should pay attention to the words first, or if Jamie could finally speak.
I feel sorry for Lena, and I feel just as guilty for Jamie. Even though I mobilized many contacts and funds, Jamie's autism never got very significantly better.
I sighed and followed suit, then, walked over to Jamie: "I was wrong, Jamie."
At this time, Jamie turned his head to look at me.
I knew that he was listening to what I had to say, "I shouldn't have lost my mom, it was my fault, now, let's get her back together, shall we?"
Jamie sniffled and I looked into Jamie's eyes, eyes that were both familiar to me and very unfamiliar to me, and then I waited a long time.
Jamie nodded, he opened his mouth, and I heard him say in a somewhat slurred tone, "Good."
I suddenly felt a soreness coming from my eyes, then I reached out and hugged him tightly.
(Lena's POV)
I had a long sleep, one that could be described as relaxing and comfortable. However, I soon thought of other things, such as my job and the little boy who appeared in the warehouse with me.
My eyes snapped open, followed by pain that nearly made me scream out loud.
I looked at the white ceiling, then, after my eyes turned around, a familiar feeling appeared, but that feeling existed only for a moment, and soon, I was defeated by the pain again.
What happened in the end? I can't remember, I just remember that the little boy was successfully held up by me at the end, and then what? And then what happened?
I sucked in a breath of cold air and finally chose to spare myself from thinking about it. Because my head hurts too much.
At this time, the door of the room was suddenly pushed open.
The first to walk in was Jamie.
My heart suddenly dropped.
Thank God, he was saved.
But, soon I saw the man behind Jamie.
When I saw him, I took advantage of people, my breath stopped for a moment.
A sense of familiarity emerged, but I didn't feel like I knew him.
My heart seemed to be focused on something for a moment, and I wanted to run away, but, again, I couldn't control my eyes to look over. The man was handsome, and I couldn't take my eyes off of him at all. I realized how rude I was when the man met my gaze.
Jamie had now walked over to my bedside, and he reached out to help me straighten the covers before stepping in front of me and looking at me with a very concerned look.
I blinked at him, "Are you okay? Are you hurt?"
Jamie shook his head, and then, he continued to look at me with concern.
I smiled softly at him, "I'm fine, I'll recover soon."
The man also came over, and he sat in a chair to the side, watching us quietly.
Although I don't know why he didn't say anything, the atmosphere didn't annoy me either.
I couldn't help but look at Jamie's eyes a few more times, and I have to admit, Jamie's eyes do look a lot like mine.
I reached out my hand and gently rubbed Jamie's head. This action seemed to make Jamie very happy, his cold face finally appeared a little smile.
Then, I looked up and looked at the man.
After careful observation, I found that Jamie and this man looked somewhat alike, and if I'm not wrong, he should be Jamie's father.
The man had looked at me for a long time before I opened my mouth, at which point he suddenly said to me, "Because of your wound, you had a relatively minor surgery, you can probably wait half a month before you can come over to have your stitches removed, so if you don't mind, you can come back with me and I'll take good care of you."
My brow furrowed.
While I can understand how grateful a father can be to his child's rescuer, he could have chosen other ways of repaying him than the way he is doing now.
What's more, I shouldn't look like a random person either.
Such a request sounds like something I can't easily accept.
When I was about to say no, Jamie suddenly reached out and took me by the hand, his strength was so strong that when I looked down at him, I noticed that his gaze was all pleading.
My brow furrowed even more.
I didn't pull my hand back to calm Jamie down. Of course, it was only because I sensed that Jamie was a little different from the other kids, and I didn't want to irritate him.
But, for whatever reason, such a request is just a bit inappropriate.
I looked up and smiled at the man, "Sir, although I understand your feelings, I think it's fine for me to remain in the hospital and there's no need for you to do this for me."
