The smile on my face when I walk out of the rest room was my biggest one yet. The idea of him falling in love with me made me so happy that I hurried out of the rest room as she was still talking. Rude, I'm sure. But my heart won't give me another second to stay there when the man that managed to wiggle his way into my heart was out there, worrying about me.
I walk into his chest, I raise my eyes to his face and he looked down at me with worry mixed with relief in his eyes.
"Lisa.." he breathed.
"Did I make you worry? I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do that."
He took my face in both of his hands, cupping it gently as he peered directly into my eyes.
"Are you okay? I promise you Theresa and I haven't slept together since we started to see each other. She didn't mean anything to me..."
I kiss him. Not hungrily like I always do, I kiss him passionately. Conveying my feelings for him and hoping he got it. The kiss was slow, I was the one doing the kissing, he was on the receiving end. I liked it that way though. I wanted him to feel just how much I loved him, if he was going to get that from a kiss, then so be it.
His hand wrapped around my waist as he pulled me close to him. His mouth started to move on mine just as slow as mine moved on his. It was the kind of kiss that made you feel loved. As I was pressed against his body, his mouth smashed on mine, my eyes closed shut. I knew that there was nobody else for me. It was him. It was him for me.
Mutually, we disconnect our mouths and rest our foreheads against each other. My eyes flutter open and I stare into his eyes. I'm tempted to tell him just how much I'm in love with him.
"Whooooooo!!!" I hear someone hoot.
The people in the restaurant start to clap. Heat rises from my neck to my face. He chuckled lightly.
"We did give them a show."
"Yeah, and now I don't know how to go back to our seat."
"Just follow my lead, is that okay?"
"Yeah.. okay, I can do that."
He holds my hand and start to walk towards our table. People cheered some more, I bowed my head in embarrassment. Kennedy knew it got to me, so he held my waist and geared me away from there to our table.
"Our food already went cold." I say.
"And we don't have so much time any more."
"Let's go." We say in unison, causing us to laugh.
He paid for our meal as we walk out of there. We head to where we saw grills, and he asked for the best one. After we got it, we got everything else that we needed.
"Shopping for food is not as fun as shopping for clothes."
"Agreed. But we don't have any more time to talk about it."
"You look parched, let's get you a bottle of water."
I smile. The way he noticed everything about me was unique. Not everyone noticed things like that about people they were having casual sex with.
"Theresa explained everything to me. Again."
I tell him when he starts to drive.
"Do you still feel some type of way?"
"Some type of way?"
"Yeah, like I would feel if I saw that Adam around you."
"Oh. It's not the same thing though. I didn't sleep with him, we were friends and he happened to like me."
He laughed a little.
"Okay, the way I would feel if I ever see someone you had sex with."
"No, I don't feel any sort of way again. But I can't say I'm totally over it. It still irks me, but that's nonsense. You had your life to live before me."
"But I mean everything I said. There's nobody else I have had this sort of connection with. Only we have this connection."
That makes me feel giddy.
"You didn't cook for Theresa?"
"We never even went to my house. We met in hotels."
I raise a brow, although I feel thoroughly pleased.
"You naughty naughty."
We laugh about the whole thing till we get home. We start to prepare everything.
"Isn't it awesome that we will be grilling when they arrive? I don't know shit about grilling." I tell him.
He laughed.
"Let's go pick them up."
I hurriedly change tampons. I prayed it would end today or tomorrow. I needed to have him. Yes, I won't be arguing, I wanted him badly.
When we arrive at the apartment, the girls were outside. James and Mariana squealed when they saw me. I couldn't help but squeak along. We haven't been apart this long in a while. I have to admit I missed them terribly.
"You look good." Mariana compliments me.
"You look extraordinary." I tell her.
Truly she did, she was glowing.
"Introduce us."
I turn to Kennedy. I had the urge to kiss him but I suppress it and do introductions instead.
He was polite to them. He smiled at them and got to know their names. He didn't mess up their pronouns.
When we get to the house, the can't suppress their gasp. Even Sara doesn't hide her own.
"Welcome to his humble abode." I tell them.
"What do you mean his? You live here now don't you?" He asked me with a frown. I don't answer, my face is too red. If I say anything, I was sure to confess my feelings and even other things.
"The others are on the way here, you guys should make yourself comfortable out in the back." He kissed my head before walking into the house.
"No way. You already completed your mission??" Mariana questioned with a smile.
"No I didn't. I haven't even started yet."
"Then why is he in love with you?"
I try not to think about the fact that it was said twice now.
"What do you mean?"
I start to take them to the back.
"We brought a bottle of wine, it's cheap as shit but we couldn't come empty handed." Quinn passed a bottle of wine to me.
"Thank you." I say sincerely.
She gave me a smile.
"Lisa, I'm telling you, the man is in love with you. Did you see how he looks at you? Even a blind man can see it."
"Well he has not said anything. If he is in love with me as you say, I'll wait for him to tell me himself. I won't assume shit."
I hear the sound of Cam's laugh, the sound filled me with dread. And I just have a feeling in the pit of my stomach that something was going to go wrong.
