Somehow, Zach manages to convince me that staying at home was even more depressing than staying alone. So we find our way to one of Cam's restaurant. One of the small ones, a twenty five seater restaurant.
"Really? You dragged me out of the house where I lay comfortably in my bunny pyjamas which are cute and not hilarious by the way.. " I glare at him pointedly.
He shrugs, "They are. Don't you feel good? You look epic."
Once upon a time, I would have danced all the way to Colombia once I hear from Zach that I looked epic, but now I just feel like i felt when he came to the house, where I was ready to dig in to the chicken and beer we planned on, whilst watching reruns of a sitcom. He brought in bags that contained different types of outfit and asked me to pick one of them, even helped me pick one, helped did my hair, and make up. Only to bring me here, to Cam's restaurant.
"Yeah, but I thought we were getting wasted tonight. What gives? If you were missing Cam, you should have just called him." I whine.
Zach rolled his eyes, "I have no idea why you would think I was going to get wasted with you. Let's go eat. Your past self would have died for an opportunity to walk inside a restaurant with me."
I narrow my eyes,
"Well my past self is lucky she did not get to walk into a restaurant with you."
He snorts and climbs out of the car. I sigh and sink into the leather seats of Zach's car. I wish it was Kenny's car, I wish he was the one I was spending this weekend with. I wish he could see me in this outfit, a black gown that hugged my figure tightly, and high stilleto heels. I can almost see his eyes ravishing my body, he'd bite his lip and say,
"You are so fucking georgous Mimosa you know that?"
My throat tightens. God I miss him so much.
"Do you want me to carry you in?"
Zach brings me back to the present. The door was open and he leaned against it with a bored expression on his face. He must have been standing there a while.
"I don't mean to be a buzzkill, but I am not in a partying mood, we could go back, have dinner at home?"
He sighs his Zach has the world on shoulders, sigh and gives me a reprimanded look.
"Do you think he will be happy to hear you are locking yourself at home because he is not around?"
I open my mouth to say no, but he shushes me with a raised finger.
"He is a CEO. The most sought after one in the world right now. And you will just have to deal with him not being in your bed all the time. Will you be like this every time he has to be out?"
I blinked. He was right. Now the world knows about him and his story. He will be more than my boyfriend. He'd be recognised everywhere.
"You can miss him. I miss Cam too. But that should not stop you from being your own individual. Do you when you have the chance."
My past self would be disappointed of she found out I wouldn't do me because I was missing a man, but she doesn't know how it feels to love and to be loved by him. So I decide to do me with him in mind, he would not like me stifling myself.
"Let us go. After this, we hit the club, we are getting wasted."
The corner of Zach's lips lifted.
"I don't drink anything that is not whiskey."
I roll my eyes as he helps me get out of the car.
"I'm sure they have something in the club for your fancy taste."
He starts to lecture me on the type of whiskey he likes and how aged it has to be, but i don't register it. My mind can only think if a person that appreciates single malt scotch.
When we walk into the restaurant, I haven't been to this one of Cam's chain of restaurants but I am immediately hit with the difference between the others and this. The ambience of the restaurant screams for the rich and extremely affluential. With dim lights and a real violin life band, the curtains drawn.. I'm almost certain those are tapestry from 1800's.
"It is breath taking is it not?" Zach whispers as if trying not to ruin the scenery.
"Yeah." The word manages to unstick from my mouth.
"Only the best of the best comes in here, reservations goes as far as three months just to be here. I'm proud of Cam for many things, this one makes me feel like bursting into a million tiny pieces at his feet."
His tone is in awe of his boyfriend.
"Have you been to all his restaurants?"
"All ten of them."
I'm about to note that it is impressive when I notice something.
"You say reservations goes as far three months?"
He nods and guides me to a two person table in the middle of the room.
"Then how on earth are we here? Did you book a reservation three months ago? Or did you pull the boyfriend is the owner card?"
He chuckles, "When your boyfriend is the owner of a five star restaurant, would you wait in line for three months?"
I remember my own boyfriend making arrangements for me to get a job when they were not even hiring.
"Fair enough."
He pulls out a seat for me, and i settle in.
"And how far back did you pull the strings that we are alone at this moment? How is it that we are the only customers?" I ask while looking at the empty chairs for emphasis.
"Cam prefers them to be called fine diners with an even finer taste."
I frown, "Not customers."
I roll my eyes, that was just classic Cam. Over the top and dramatic. I notice Zach was not sitting.
"Why aren't you sitting?"
He grins his shit eating grin.
"Because, my work here is done."
My frown deepens.
"What work?"
"To deliver you here safely. Oh, and to get your clothes."
My brows touch this time. What the hell? Did he already start drinking before me?
"What are you talking about? Deliver me to who?"
A familiar voice, the one I've been dreaming about everyday. The deep timbre vibrates through my chest as he responds,
"To me."
