LIX

LIX
I didn't know much about love from girls, or love with girls but I knew you had to know them a bit before falling in love with them. We didn't know anything about each other, it is too far fetched to say anything like love.
"Do you know how much you over think things? It's not so hard, neither is it something you wake me up in the middle of the night for." Cam whined sleepily.
Mom put him in charge of looking after me, so he never left my place. Jonathan had a family now, so of course he would stay with her.
"It's not that simple Cam, and no I don't over think, and it's not even the middle of the night." I roll my eyes at him.
He rubbed his eyes with both palms as he mumbled something that I couldn't hear.
"You do know there's something called love at first sight right?"
"I don't believe in that even more, how can you meet someone for the first time, not knowing if they poured their sauce over their fries before eating and you go ahead and fall in love with them?"
Cam let out a long sigh.
"First, if you wake up me up in the middle of the night, try not to diss something I love doing, pouring sauce is clearly the best, and only way to eat fries. Second, do you even know what love is?"
I eyed his sleepily form, he was curled into himself, even though the bed was huge, he would rather curl himself.
"Go back to bed, you're no use."
"So, are you in love with her or not, regardless of whether love at first sight is real or not."
I didn't mull over it, I didn't want him to say anything about over thinking again.
"No, it's purely physical." I wasn't sure if it was a lie, but I sounded so convincing that even I believed it. Cam nodded, he too believed me.
"Don't you think she has been running away from you simply because of that?"
I turn to face him now, his eyes were closed as if he was asleep, but he was fully awake.
"What do you mean?"
He still didn't open his eyes when he responded,
"What if she was that time of girl who didn't deal with things purely physical? Maybe she wants some kind of emotional attachment."
I furrowed my brows,
"That doesn't make sense, it's just sex."
"Yeah to you it is, some people actually like the emotions, and since you guys don't have it, you are not trying to make one, she's afraid, skeptical." He scratched the tip of his nose as he talked.
"It's an uncharted territory for her, she doesn't know what to do. Just like you don't know what to do when you can't have just one girl."
I turn to face him, that was what Theresa said, I didn't tell anyone that. If he thought the same thing, maybe it was true.
"So I am supposed to form an emotional attachment?" I ask him.
He pulled his hand away from his nose as his eyes fluttered open.
"You are willing to go that far?"
I didn't answer, I couldn't explain why I would want to form an emotional attachment with someone I obviously just wanted to have sex with.
"Yes, starting with being her friend, maybe you guys can make friends with benefits work, if not you'll have to actually date her." His eyes scrutinized me as he talked.
Under the heat of Cam's full attention left me feeling all awkward.
"Then that'll be useless right? She would know that I am only dating her for sex right?"
Cam smiled,
"Yeah, if you are lucky, friends benefits will do the trick. If you aren't, you would be better off leaving it, or else she will get hurt."
I didn't sleep that night, I couldn't sleep, for some reason my eye lids didn't get heavy at all. So I got up to play video games, and this time I wasn't so out of the game, I won each and every round I played. The guys hooted, telling me I was back, it made me feel good, people, even know we had not seen each other were happy that I was back.
"What do I do now?" I asked myself as I stretched out on the bed. Cam stirred in his sleep, halting my movements, I didn't want him to wake up, and I didn't even understand why on earth he would rather sleep on my own bed than the guest bed room. Or the room he picked for himself when I got the house.
I decided to hit the gym, I had not been there in a ages. And it was starting to show that I was a billionaire with a game company that never went to the office, I even got out of breath after kissing.
Grateful for the in house gym, I decided the weights were the first to begin with after I stretched. I turned on my workout playlist, thankfully it wasn't so loud that it would wake Cam up, but I could hear it loud and clear.
I started to appreciate the trip to Miami even more now, that way I would be far away from her enough to clear my head.
"By this time?!" Cam asked.
I was startled but I didn't dare drop the weights, I couldn't think of how they'd hurt on my toes.
"You startled me." I tell him
"Yeah, you startled me."
"Why are you awake?" I was beginning to hear a grunt in my voice.
"Imagine my surprise when I turn for a cuddle and you were gone."
I turn to look at him, he was pulling his 'baby' face. His words not mine, I always thought he looked annoying with that face.
"Yeah, not cuddling with you. Is this why you can't keep a girl? You want to cuddle even when it's just casual sex?" Cam burst out laughing.
If other people heard our discussions, they would feel like we were attacking each other, but that's how it worked here, no hard feelings.
"Maybe."
I snicker at him.
"I couldn't sleep, so I decided to be useful." I tell him.
He nodded.
The place felt stuffy, I wanted fresh air on my face, I needed to run outside.
"I'm going to run outside."
Cam only nodded and went back up, he was going to sleep.
The rush I felt as I stepped outside was probably the same I felt whenever I saw her.
