"That is one hell of a greeting. I could get used to it." He leaned down at me. A gentle smile playing on his lips. His right hand was hooked on my waist, holding me straight so I don't slip out.
"What do you want to eat? My treat." I tell him.
His beautiful face had me gasping every time I look at him. I never seen a guy half as pretty as he was.
His eyebrows shot up.
"Are you serious?"
"As long as they aren't expensive as those clothes in your wardrobe."
He laughed.
"Okay, what are we celebrating?"
"The fact I now have a chance among the graduates. And you made it happen."
"You deserve it, plus the work isn't for graduates but for people who know what they are up to."
I kiss his mouth. His eyebrows shot into his hair.
"You look extremely beautiful when you talk." I shrug.
He laughed.
"You are something."
"My break will end soon, are you going to continue doing this PDA on the road for all to see or we'll go and get food."
"Let's go celebrate."
We end up driving to this burger place that smells like grease. The smell made my mouth water, reminding me of the two spoons of breakfast I had before getting distracted.
"I'm about to feed the gym boy calories. Is that okay?" I ask him as we look through the menu.
"It is, Cam feeds me a lot more calories. I will burn them all at the gym anyways."
"Very well then. I shall stuff you till you absolutely can't breathe."
He laughed. We both placed our orders for big burgers and large fries.
"You look very nice, did you go somewhere?" I compliment.
He was dressed in a grey suit, tailored to perfection. It was mostly plain save for the buttons that look like they could be sold alone and they would cost a fortune.
"Yeah, I met up with Jonathan and our mom. And a few business meetings."
I suddenly had a thought. Did he meet Danielle looking like that?
"Was your meeting with Danielle one of them?" I asked slyly.
"Yeah it was. I had to meet her in person because she won't listen to me over the phone." He rolled his eyes.
I felt a pang of jealousy. Which I don't understand, because he could meet with anyone he wanted to.
We were just having sex. It was just something physical.
"Our food is on the way." He was smiling in the direction of the waiter.
I take a gulp of my coke to wash down the feeling of jealousy. It was hard, and bitter.
I begin to stuff my face with the food. Taking two bites at a time.
"Hey hey, slow down, you might choke." He peered at me worriedly.
I stop, staring into his face, searching for something. Searching his face to see something. I don't know what, but I want to find something to put my mind at ease or make me worry I guess.
"Is something wrong?"
"I don't want to beat around the bush with this, we are too mature for that."
"Yeah?"
"Have you slept with Danielle before?"
His eyes widen, telling me all I need to know. The burger felt like stone, I can't swallow it.
"It was a one time thing, before I met you. And that's it."
I nod. Yes it happened before we met, why do I feel uncomfortable hearing that he touched her just like he touched me.
"Hey hey, I didn't sleep with her to get you the interview." His face looked so broken. That I would think of something like that.
"I know. It's just. It's hard to accept you touched someone else before me." I say with a laugh.
He looked like he didn't know what to say.
"It didn't mean anything. Not like ours. I told you, you're amazing. Plus we are exclusive remember?"
I smile at him, feeling a little more confident.
"It was circumstances at that time, I still regret it though. But I can't change the past."
I think about the time with Noah in the back of his car. Of course, I had my own regrets too. I wasn't letting our regrets weigh us down here.
I swallow the burger.
"It's okay. I don't want to come off as clingy, but I do want you all to myself."
He gives me one of his smiles that warms my heart.
"That's okay, I want you all to myself as well."
That made me so happy, I felt so good I leaned over and kissed him.
"We cool?"
"Always."
"Oh shit, the time, we have less than ten minutes till your break ends."
I shove everything into my mouth, not even bothering to keep looking hot. I was hungry and could eat a whole baby elephant if I wanted.
"Wow, that was epic."
He stared at me laughing. I shrug.
"You don't want to see me hungry."
"Better keep you well fed all the time then."
I smile. He knew how to push the buttons to my heart, and he was making himself comfortable in there pretty fast.
"Shoot, we didn't work on the resumé at all."
My eye brows shot into my hair.
"I have till midnight to submit. Can we work on it after I close from work today?"
He nods as he finishes the last part of his coke.
"Okay, I will come to pick you up when you finish, we'll go straight to my place."
When he says his place, my face turns bright red. He doesn't seem to notice, he just holds my hand and start to walk out.
"I have to pay." I say before running off to the counter.
The waiter was watching the T.V intently so intently that he forgot to come give us the bill.
When I pay, I look up to what he was watching. It was news about the serial killer. It brought shivers down my spine.
"Done?"
"Yup, let's go."
As he drives, we sit in silence. I realize I really loved his presence, it keeps me calm.
"I saw news about the serial killer again, scary isn't it?" I say casually.
He doesn't answer.
"I didn't hear what they said, but I hope they catch him soon. Don't you think?"
When I turn to face him. He looks.. scared.
