We climb up the elevator together. Cam poked and prodded me, while making 'lovestruck' faces at me. I for one, did not give him the satisfaction of smiling and playing along with him, or he would never stop.
"Kennedy and Lisa, sitting in a tree, K.I.S.S.I.N.G!!"
I nearly laugh at that one, so I chew inside of my cheeks to stop me from laughing.
"You laughed!!" He exclaimed.
I deliberately refuse to face him so he didn't have evidence of the tiny smile that I was spotting that refused to go. It somehow became permanently imprinted into my face.
"Did not."
"I saw it! You're spotting one like that on your face! That's why you are hiding your face away from me!"
I swerved away from him, I was just about to kneel over with laughter. But Cam is Cam, and the most unpredictable person I knew. Before I could say a word, he swung his body on top of mine. Causing me to stumble on my feet, I pushed my hands in front of me to steady myself.
Cam was laughing as I struggled. I couldn't even be mad him. His mouth was directly on my face, he made kissy noises and this time I couldn't stop the laughter.
"Did you guys kiss like this?"
He dropped wet, sloppy kisses on my face.
"Ew, Cameron!" I say but I wasn't offended. I would be if I didn't know Cam.
"Why? Because I'm not Lisa?" He was pouting into my face now.
An answer was just about to come out of my lips before the elevator door slid open to reveal a woman and her two kids, the kids were about four or five years old.
We all paused as she stared at us in pure disgust.
"Mom look! They are gay like uncle Christian and his husband Felix!!" One of the kids shouted with his fore finger pointing to us and his mouth wide open.
The woman slid in the elevator but tried to shrink herself and her kids into the farthest part of the wall.
"Can you stick to the bedrooms please? There are kids everywhere outside you know."
I opened my mouth to refute what she had said but Cam beat me to it.
"I'm sorry what? Do you tell that to straight couples you see everywhere?"
The lady scoffed before drawing her children even closer to her.
I felt my face burn in embarrassment. I whisper directly into Cam's ear.
"Dude, stop feeding her weird thoughts. And get the fuck off of me."
He only rolled his eyes and held unto me tighter.
"So you're just annoyed because we are gay and not because of the public display of affection?"
"You will all burn in hell!!" The woman seethed.
Cam's eyes darken, which I didn't understand. Before I could mention it, he swung back to normal mischievous Cam. He planted the loudest kiss on my cheek. I could only laugh.
"You hear that honey? We are going to hell! How cool is that?"
"Actually not cool at all." I tell him.
He burst into a fit of uncontrollable laughter. Just then the elevator dinged and I walked out with Cam on my back and the lady burning holes into him.
"Cam one of these days you will get yourself in trouble." I tell him as I open my door.
"Why? For love? Love is love! I should not be prosecuted because of whom I choose to love!"
He squealed dramatically.
I dropped him on the bed, he bounced severally.
"Oh you want it rough tonight hmph daddy?"
I laugh louder, he was unnecessarily dramatic.
"You know what I could wear for a bon fire? I don't know what to wear to those."
"Oh my gosh! The day for my fashion invention is upon us. Allow your gay boyfriend to pick out clothes for you."
I roll my eyes and get a bottle of water from the fridge.
Cam rustled through my wardrobe for what I assume was bon fire attire. I know he had attended one before.
"Here it is. I'm so glad I convinced you to get this. This is perfect. The tones are great as well, it's also a eat up I look too fucking good."
I roll my eyes again.
"What are you wearing to the bon fire?"
He jumps up to his feet, and sweeping his open palm to his attire.
"I already came prepared. As you can see."
He wore a simple T shirt, and a short. His feet poked out of his really ugly sandals. I hate those but he keeps repeating how cute they are. One of these days, I was going to burn them. Until then, I'll just have to suffer watching it.
"You wouldn't believe who we ran into." I tell him as I remember.
"Who? Her ex? The guy from her apartment? What's his name Leo?" He scrunched up his face in genuine confusion.
"Adam." I supply.
"And no, not him. Not her ex either. Danielle."
"Danielle?"
His eyes widen as he remembers the person I'm talking about.
"Oh shit, that couldn't have gone well."
I take a swing out of my water bottle.
"It did actually. Somehow she managed herself well."
"Wait really?"
I nod.
"Yeah, she knew how to read the room. She seemed like a different person from the person that chased me out of my office."
"When you think you know someone." He mused.
"Whelp. It's just fifteen minutes more. Check in on Jonathan and his wife while I go take a quick bath."
"Sure."
I got into the shower, breaking the world record for shortest bath ever.
"What are you doing here?"
I ask as I hop out of the shower, Cam and Jonathan were sitting down there.
"Is that how you speak to your brother you haven't seen in a while."
"You were with your wife, I couldn't intrude." I say as I swing on my clothes.
"By the way, where's she? Your wife I mean."
"She has a name you know."
"Yeah, can't get used to saying Clarissa just yet." I say wincing.
"You must have used the name in your imagination." Jonathan says laughing.
I roll my eyes at him.
The door swing open. Lisa walked in.
She looked terrified.
