Chapter eleven

Sophia POV

I woke to see my hand attached to a drip. I sat down and looked around. It seems as if I am in a private clinic because there is no way a normal hospital will afford a queen-sized bed for a patient.

But what am I doing in a clinic? I thought and everything that happened came back to me fresh. In my head.

I came to the Alpha’s palace, found out they were my mate and then the look one of the Alpha’s gave me. I shiver in bones as I remember the look he gave me.


I let out a sob and started weeping from the bottom of my heart. Why? Why? Why are all these things happening to me? I tried to recall if I have ever offended anyone or whether I have insulted or curved the moon goddess but I can’t remember. Maybe I was a bad person in my previous life. I tried making excuses for all that have been happening to me because it’s not normal. There must be a reason.

Within two weeks, I have experienced pains that an old person has never experienced in his life.


I am still feeling the pain of the banishment, then was attacked by rogues and now there is a high possibility that my mate will reject me because they seem to hate me for a reason known to them. Am I that unlikely or am just unlucky in life. I have nobody to love me now am all alone except for Aliyah. Poor Aaliyah. I wonder how she must have felt when our mate snapped at us that way.

“Hey Aliyah! How are you feeling?”. I asked but I got no response from her.


“Aliyah? Aliyah answer me please”. I began to panic when I saw that she wasn't responding.


“Aliyah come on, wake up please wake up”. But there was no answer.


I started screaming with the little strength I had left because I was already feeling weak as if I would die. I unplugged my hand from the drip and I immediately started bleeding but I did not bother about it. I got up and my legs gave me away and I fell down and hit a drawer.


Two guards immediately entered the room when they saw my condition. They tried to help me up but I screamed and moved back as they came closer.


“Sophia. Sophia please calm down” Rose entered the room and rushed to me. She burst into tears when she saw my condition.

“Calm down. Everything will be alright”. She said as she hugged me tight and injected a substance into my neck.


When I woke up later on, I was too tired to even cry. I just lie on the bed with tears running down my ears.

A few minutes after I woke up Rose entered the room with some drugs on the tray in her hand.

“Sophia get up, you have to take your medicine”. She said in a gentle voice.


I took the drugs from her hand and forced myself to swallow it. Tears were still coming down from my eyes.


“O Sophia! Everything is going to be okay?”. Rose hugged me tight and I burst into tears. After crying for some time, I grew tired of crying.


“Rose, I tried talking to Aliyah my wolf but she isn’t responding. Did anything bad happen to her?”. I managed to ask.


After hesitating for a minute, Rose decided to answer me; “Nothing bad happened to her, it’s just that due to all the things that have been happening this past few days, she is tired and so she closed herself off from the world to heal herself.”


“What does that mean she left me alone? Why are these things happening to me? The one person that I thought would always be here with me has left me to face all this trouble alone. O Rose, I want to die. I want to die!”. I cried out.


“O Sophia, don't talk like that, you are still very young. You have many reasons to live for. I mean you just found our mate, they will take care of you. You..”


“No!” I cut her off from what she was saying. “ They don’t want me. They are going to reject me”. I told her. It hurts more when I say it out loud.


“What! Who told you that? If you see how worried they were when you fainted then you will know that there is no way they are going to reject you after all they have been waiting for their mate for eight years”. Rose explained. I now understood why they reacted that way when they saw me. Imagine them waiting for their mate for eight good years and then ending up with a worthless person like me. That can be painful on their part.



I explained to Rose how one of them reacted when he saw me and how I was trying to flee from them before I fainted.


“Sophia I think you must have misunderstood them, yeah I know it wasn't right for them to react the way they did. But I think it came as a shock to them. You know, the Alpha's parents were killed by rogues when they were just sixteen years old. I guess that’s the reason why they reacted that way. I mean imagine if your beloved parents were killed by hunters and then you suddenly found out that your mate is a hunter. How will you react for the first time?”. Rose questioned. Well, she had a point but if my parents after everything they did to me get killed by hunters today, I will surely throw a party because they deserve it.

Just then a maid entered the room with a tray of food and two white Rose flowers on it.


“Good evening mam, here it’s your dinner and the two roses were sent by the Alphas '. The maid dropped the tray, bowed her head and went out.


“See? They aren’t as bad as you thought”. Rose kept on defending the Alphas. Of course, she will defend them after all they are the Alpha and the loyalty of a pack member lies with his or her Alpha.

I refused to reply to her and sat down to eat it because I was famished.
