Chapter Eighty four
Chapter eight of Alpha Asher and the hunter's daughter
“Well, well! Look who we have here!”.
My heart cut when I heard the familiar voice. I turned around and saw Betty and her minions standing with their hands held. Betty is the queen bee of our class who likes to look down on those she thinks are not up to her standard. She and her minions used to bully me sometimes before but stopped. So I wonder what they wanted.
“Longest time Hooded demon! Did you miss us?.” Betty asked. I kept quiet without answering her.
“You aren’t going to talk. It seems as if you don’t remember us at all, let me give you something to remember us with!.” Stacy, one of Betty’s minions, said and punched me in the stomach. I put my two hands around my stomach and fell on the ground as I groaned in pain.
“I guess now you remember us. Girls hold her up!” Betty commanded. Two of her minions came and held me up and stamped me to the locker. Betty moved closer to me with a smirk on her face.
“Let me not waste more of my precious time on you. That new boy Asher. I like him and want you to stay away from him or face the consequences!.” Betty ordered. I can’t believe she is doing this because of a boy. Is not as if Asher and I are dating or anything. I wanted to give her a piece of my mind but I know that I can’t except I want to end up in a hospital.
“Did I make myself clear?”. Betty asked as the two minions holding me pressed me deeper into the locker. I groaned in serious pain.
“Y- yes!”. I managed to answer.
“Good! Now I will leave you something to remember with. Stacy over to you!”. Betty stepped away from me.
“No!!!!” I screamed as Stacy walked to me with a smirk on her face. She bawled her fist and hit me right on the stomach just as she was about to hit me again. A loud voice called her.
“Miss Matthew!!!”.
We all turned towards the voice and saw our English teacher Mrs Johnson making her way to us. The two girls let go of me and stepped back a little bit.
“You better watch what you say or else..” Stacy whispered to me before she shifted away from me.
“Can someone tell me what is going on here?.” Miss Johnson as she reaches where we are.
“O Mrs Johnson. Nothing is going on, we were just having a girl-to-girl talk.” Betty stated in her high-pitched voice that I was distressed so much.
“Anna, do you have anything to say?” Mrs Johnson asked me obviously not believing a word Betty said.
“Nothing Mam!”. I answered her.
“See! Nothing to worry about”. Stacy said in a relieved voice.
Mrs Johnson was obviously not believing a thing. “Okay. All of you, go for your lunch now!”.
“Remember what we talk about!”. Betty winked at me as she and her minions walked away.
“Are you seriously alright Anna?”. Mrs Johnson asked me.
“Yes, Mam!”. I answered and walked away from her.
I really hate my life. Everything is always getting worse each moment. I don’t know why I am so unhappy.
I can’t believe I just got bullied because of a boy. As much as I like Asher’s company, it is time to stop talking to him. I knew it was too good to be true when he said he wanted to be friends with me. It’s never going to be possible. People like him don’t mix with people like me.
I slowly walk to the garden. I could see Asher.
“Are you alright?”. He asked me once I reached him. His voice is full of concern. I can’t believe I am about to lose such a person like him just after a day of being friends with him. I took in a deep breath before I answered him.
“I think we should stop talking to each other!”.
“What? Why? Did I do something wrong? If I did, I would be so sorry.” He apologized. I hate the fact that he is so nice.
“Please tell me what is wrong!”. He pleaded with me.
“You are disrupting my peaceful life!”. I shouted without realizing what I said and it was too late to take it back since I had already said it.
“Wow! Just wow. I don’t even know what to say!.” He declared in a hurt voice. The tone of his voice hurt me more and I accepted it too. I didn't mean to say it like that. But now, the damage is done and there is nothing I can do to change it.
“I am so sorry, I did not intentionally disrupt your peaceful life. Don’t worry, I will leave you alone henceforth. I just wanted us to be friends that’s all!”. Asher declared and started to walk away.
Seeing him walk away from me, a deep fear struck me! And I don’t know what made me call him even though I was the one who just pushed him away.
“Asher!”.
