Chapter forty four

I look up to look at my mates. They were both looking very furious.

“Oh Sophia! I am sorry you have to pass through all this”. Xavier said as he hugged me tight.

It feels good to finally tell them. My heart felt lighter.

“We are going to make them pay for what they did to you!.” Xiao promised.

“That won’t be necessary, I have left everything in the hands of the moon goddess. She will avenge me in the long run.” I stated. I don’t want to have anything to do with that pack again. I just want to forget about them completely.

“O Sophia, it needs to be done. They can’t get away with such behaviours.” Xavier explained. I shook my head at them.

“No! I don’t want anything that will cause a fight between the two packs. Please let it slide. Karma's a bitch and will bite them one day.” I said trying to persuade the twins not to think about whatever was on their minds.

“Try to understand Sophia! It’s not only because of you we want to do this. Have you thought of if they have done such unfair behaviour to someone else before? What if they are planning to do it to someone again? Banish them unjustly and allow them to be rogues. Think about it or do you want that kind of thing to happen to someone?.” Xavier carefully asked after he explained to me why they wanted to take matters into their own hands.

“NO!”. I shouted. I won’t pray for my worst enemy to have such an experience.

“See! You won't, right? That's why we need to address the issue. If we allow your former alpha to get away with this, who knows what he might do in the future.” Xavier continued with his explanation.



“I don't know where you are coming from, I don’t want to be the reason a fight will start between the packs.” I voiced my concern.


“That won’t happen. We will not be ones to approach the issue but we will rather write a letter to the council of elders concerning the matter. They will carry out their investigations and pass the judgment themselves. You don’t need to worry, nobody is getting into trouble okay?.” Xavier comforted me. I looked at Xiao who had said nothing but rather fisted his hands and hardened his look. He looks as if he is ready to kiss someone this minute.

“Xiao?.” I called out to him in a soft voice. His expression softened when he looked at me. I stood from where I was sitting and rushed into his arms. He wrapped his hands around me as he whispered words of comfort to me.

“Shhh! Please stop crying okay. It’s hurt to see you in tears. I promise you that today will be the last time that the dark moon pack will be the cause of your tears. Please Cheer up and allow your mates to take care of everything.” Xiao pets me as he rocks me side to side in his arms. I love the affection they were both giving to me.


“It’s late in the night, let's get you to bed.” Xavier stood up and gave me his hand which I took and he helped me up. I offered my free hand to Xiao who stood up and took hold of it. Together the three of us made our way into my room.

“I had a nice time today. Thank you”. I appreciated both of them when we reached the front of my room.

“How many times will I tell you to stop thanking us? It is our duty as your mates to always put you first before any other thing.” Xavier explained.

“Alright!” I acknowledged.

“Anyway, we were hoping you could take you on a date tomorrow?.” Xiao asks as he rubs his neck. He does that whenever he is nervous.


“Sure I will love it. But I am starting out in the school tomorrow and I don't know the time they close”. I explained to them. I don’t want a situation where the date has to be cancelled after all arrangements have been made for it. I read in the constitution that you are not supposed to be at the place of duty before closing time unless it’s a life-threatening situation. I want to be serious about honoring the laws of the pack.

“That sounds like a problem, it’s a dinner date in the pack’s most lavish restaurant. Wear a dinner gown”. Xavier explained.

“Alright then. See you guys tomorrow. Good night.” I hugged both of them and entered my room.



“Ahhhhh! I am going on my first date!”. I screamed out loud. The twins and I have had special dinners before, but they never tagged it as a date. Except for this one. I am so super excited.

I rushed into my closet and went to the dinner gown section to look for what I could wear that would match the occasion and also cover up my hickeys. After going through the gowns for some minutes, I found the perfect worn for the occasion. I can’t for tomorrow evening.


I went to sleep with a big smile of satisfaction on my face.

Xiao’s POV

As soon as Sophia entered her room. I punched the wall so hard. I can’t believe her pack made her pass through all this at a young age. I will make sure they all regret what they did to her. Starting from the Alpha down to her parents.!By the time we are down with them. They will wish they had never looked at her twice.


“Calm down bro. I am also as furious as you. But anger won’t make anything better. We need to have our heads straight and not think rationally.” Xavier said. “When are we going to write the letter?.” He then asked me.

“Right now! We will write the letter tomorrow and send it tomorrow morning. The sooner the letter reaches them, the sooner we get a response”. I declared and we went into your study room in the penthouse and wrote the letter addressed to the council of elders. They have a beef with the Alpha of the Dark Moon pack because he did not attend the Alpha conference for two consecutive times with no solid excuse. This letter will just add more salt to his wound.
