Church twenty two

Inside the patio is a fur picnic mat spread on the ground with soft pillows around it. After the left side of the mat is a stool containing different delicious-looking food on it. The patio is surrounded with candles lit all around it. I marvelled at how beautiful the place looked. I am really touched that they did this for me.

Xiao made his way to the mat bent down and took off his shoes. Just as I was about to do the same, he stopped me.

“Allow me,” Xiao said while still bending down. He took one of my feet and took off my shoe gently as if my leg was made of glass. He then dropped a peck on my bare feet. I literally stopped breathing when he did that. My cheeks become red as I blush hard. Xiao did not stop there but repeated the same procedure for my other feet too.

“Thank you!”. I said to him still blushing hard as he got back to his feet and then he took my hands and helped me to sit down and sat beside me.
After I had my seat, Xavier who was standing beside me took off his own shoes and sat at my other side.
I kept looking around at the beauty of the place. This feels like. A good dream that I would not like to get up from.
Still, in my thoughts, I didn’t notice when the twins arranged the food items in front. The food looks delicious but I don’t think I have ever had a taste of something like it.

“Today we are going to serve you”. Xavier said although I didn’t fully understand what he meant by that.
He and Xiao then washed their hands and began to feed me. Each of the food was delicious. I can’t think of which one is the best.
After almost an hour of the twins feeding me and them feeding themselves, we were done eating. Everywhere then became silent. I wanted to talk but I didn't know how to start saying it so I just kept quiet.
Xiao cleared his throat and I looked up to him waiting to hear what he wanted to say.

“How about we play twenty questions so that we can get to know each other better,” Xiao suggested.
Xavier and I nodded our heads in agreement. After all, they are my mates. I need to know them personally.

“Since it’s fine by you. Any of us can start with the questions''. Xiao said and everywhere became quiet. I guess this must be as awkward for them as it is for me too. Since none of them wanted to start first, I decided to make the first attempt.

“What’s your best colour?”. I asked both of them.

“Black!”.
“Ash!”
They both said at once that it was hard for me to know which one of them said the other colour.
I gave them a look that said “Seriously?”.

“Sorry, mine is black while Xiao owns is ash”. Xavier said. That came as a surprise to me. Xiao is the one who looks like a black lover, not the other way around.

“What is yours?”. Xavier questioned.

“Red!”. I stated. I don’t really have the best color but I think that red will work out just fine for me.

“How old are you guys?.” I asked them the question that has been on my mind since.

“We will be twenty-five in two months time”. Xiao answered. Wow, that means they are seven years older than me.

We kept on asking each other questions, getting to know each other better. At the end of the day, I could say that at least now I know them much better than before.

After we finished playing twenty questions, we all sat there in a comfortable silence, with only soft music playing in the background.

“Let’s dance”. Xavier suddenly got up and gave me his hands.

I nodded my head, indicating no.

"O, come on!”. Xavier persuaded me as he brought out a small remote from his pocket and pressed a button then the volume of the music increased.

“I can’t dance!”. I said in a low voice. Truthfully, I don’t even know if I can dance or not because I have never danced in my whole life. The only time I dance, if I can call that dancing, is when I am in the shower.

“That’s not a problem. All you have to do is to follow my lead”. Xavier said as he beacon on me to take his hands. I looked between him and Xiao who gave me an encouraging look. I placed my hand in Xavier’s own as he gently pulled me to my feet. He leads us to the empty side of the patio. He looked at me for permission which I granted to him as he placed his hands on my waist and drew closer to him even though he left some space between which I am grateful for. He held my hand with his other hand while I placed my free hand on his shoulder. He soon started moving side to side as I tried my best to follow his lead.
“Sorry!”. I apologize as I step on his feet for the fifth time since we started dancing.

“It’s okay. You are actually doing better for your first time.” Xavier explained and I gave him a sweet smile.

“Mind if I cut in?”. Xiao who walked up to us said”.

“Sure!”. Xavier replied as he pecked me on the forehead before letting go of me.

“She is your brother!”. Xavier said as he went and had his seat, leaving Xiao and me standing and looking at each other.

Xiao let out his hands, and I put my hand in his. He then drew me in for a hug before he started moving us around slowly. Unlike Xavier, Xiao didn’t leave much space between us. Since he is quite tall compared to me, I placed my head on his chest as he continued to move us around.

I could feel his heart beating very fast, just like mine. I placed my free hand on his chest. I listen to his heart beating very crazy.

“This is what you do to me, little mate.”. Xiao whispered into my ears before he dropped a peck on the side of my ear, causing me to shiver because of the sensation as I held him tighter than before. I looked into his eyes, which were now darker than before.

“It’s not fair. You guys are leaving me out of all the fun!.” Xavier murmured, causing us to break out of our stare contest.


Xiao reluctantly let me go as I made our way back to the mat.

"See, you aren’t that much of a bad dancer.”. Xavier said, and Xiao nodded in agreement.

“Thank you guys!”. I said it with a big smile on my face. I really enjoyed my night.

“For?” They both said it at the same time, causing them to laugh out loud.

“You guys have been doing this a lot,” I told them. They have been saying the same thing at the same time.


“Do what?”. They both sit together with a smile on their faces.


“That!”. I laughed.

“What?”. They asked again together at the same time.

“Seriously guys!” I murmured, and they both laughed.

“We are sorry, we can’t help it.”. They both said it again, and I frowned at them.

“It’s because we are twins and we share a personal connection with each other, just like the type you share with your soulmate.”. Xavier explained. And we went on talking for another hour, getting to know each other better. We then decided to call it a night.


They both escorted me to the front of my bedroom. And as they were about to leave, I hugged them both and gave them a peck on the cheek.
