Chapter fifteen

Sophia POV~


I kept thinking about the grace the therapist told me before she left and I found truth in what she said. Indeed if I keep wallowing in self-pity and self-blame. I will lead myself into self-distraction. And also, the past is the past, nothing is going to change it and I will do myself harm if I keep dwelling on it. So I decided that from one on, I will not dwell on the past.


I will also try and work things out with my mates although I don’t know how I am going to do that. Still lost in my thoughts, I heard the door open and the maid who had been attending to me since I came here entered the room.


“Good evening Mam. Sorry for disturbing you. The Alphas asked if you would like to join them for dinner tonight.” The maid said. To think that I was looking for how to approach them. They just made things easier for me.


“Sure. I will love it too.” I gently replied to her. Am not sure if she heard me or not.


“Really Mam?.” She asked excitedly. I don’t why though.


“Omg Mam. The Alphas will be very pleased. They have been disappointed anytime you refuse to join them. Let me go and inform the guard and I will come and help you get dressed.” The maid said and before I could give her response she already went out of the room.


“We have an hour before dinner time. Let’s get you ready before then”. The maid came back a minute after and explained. She beckoned me to get up.

It was now time for dinner and I was told that the Alphas were already waiting for me at the dining room.

Earlier on, the maid had helped me take my bath and dressed up in a new dress. I feel so refreshed and ready for dinner. But now that the time has reached I am beyond nervous. My heart keeps on beating as if it’s going to fall off.

“Relax Mam, they are not going to eat you. It’s just a dinner and remember they are your mate. They are not going to harm you.” The maid who is escorting me to the dining room said. She must have heard my crazy heartbeat. Soon we arrived at the door of the dining room.


“Okay, Mam this is my stop. It is the Alphas personal dining room and no one is allowed to enter except you are invited. Good luck and have a nice dinner time.” The maid said and left me at the door alone.

I left like turning back and going to my room. But then I remember the promise I made to myself that I am gout I work this out with them.


“Okay, Sophia this is it! You can do it. It’s just a harmless dinner. You got this.” I prep-talked myself before I pushed the door open and entered.

They must have heard me because they both stood up and turned to look at me. Handsome is an understatement for how they both look. They were both putting on black turtleneck long sleeves and black trousers.


We all stood looking at each other without talking for more than a minute before one of them decided to talk. I actually don’t know who is who. All I know is their name. Xavier and Xiao. Although I am hoping to get a personal introduction from them.


“Welcome and thank you for accepting to have dinner with us. Do come in and have a seat”. She beacon on me to come closer and came and held the chair out for me to sit. They made me sit at the head seat in the middle and then they sat down at my side. I can’t believe the day is coming when I will sit with an Alpha and talk more about being in the head seat.


“This is for you”. They both said at the same time and passed me rose flowers.


“Thank you!”. I said while blushing and took the flowers and kept them at my side. I made a mental note to take it along with me when going.


“No need to thank us, it’s our pleasure”. The other one said. I really need to know their names. Although they were identical twins, it was easy to differentiate them because the colour of their eyes was different. One has dark blue eyes while the other has forest green eyes. Their eyes actually compliment their looks making them look hot. I have actually been trying not to look at their faces for so long because I don’t want to disgrace myself. It’s not every day that one sees a Greek god look alike and talk more using two at the same time. It’s very overwhelming.


“What would you like to eat? We will be at your services today”. One of the Alpha said and that was when I noticed that there was no maid or guard in here. We are all alone. The thought of that makes me nervous.


“Anything will be fine!”. I replied and I noticed the look of hurt on their faces. The truth is they have been trying to please me since I came for dinner and I just realized that I have been acting like a female dog.


“I mean anything because I am not used to this kind of food. So I can’t decide which one to eat. Why did you choose my name?” I slowly said and I immediately saw the look of understanding in their eyes.


“Well, in that case, I know I'll get the dish for you”. The one with the dark blue eyes said and he started to serve me. Soon we all sat down and ate our food in silence.


“Do you have any questions for us? Feel free to ask.” The one with the forest green eyes said when we had finished eating.


“Well, I would love to know your names. I do know your names but I don’t know who Xavier is and who is Xiao”. I explained to them because I was getting tired of describing them by the colour of their eyes.


“Well am Xavier and he is Xiao”. The one with the eyes explained.


“Nice!”. I said since I didn’t know how to reply to them.
