Chapter seventy six
**** Chapter fifteen of Rogue to Luna
Lucy's POV
When I woke up, Asa is not sitting beside me like I expected.
I look to my left and see another hospital bed beside me, Asa lying atop it.
I rush out of bed as quickly as I can, careful not to move my healing neck. I look over
Asa's body and see claw marks everywhere. He looks torn apart!
Asa's eyes flutter open, and he gives me a small smile. "Hello, my love. Feeling better?" He asks with a croaky voice. I find water and pour him a cup, lifting it to his lips and tilting it slightly. After having a drink of water he says a quiet thanks.
He looks at me knowingly, knowing I want an explanation.
He explains everything. How he was in a battle with the Alpha and he almost lost. He came out victorious, meaning that he is now Alpha of the remaining members of the Red Claw Pack.
After he is done explaining, I give him a gentle hug. "I'm so proud of you, Asa. I knew you could do it.
"I love you, little mate," Asa whispers into my hair.
"I love you too."
***
I've been throwing up every morning, and werewolves don't get sick. Asa insisted that we go to the doctor today, this having been going on a whole week.
We arrive to Doctor Lana, greeting
each other with hugs. I've gotten to know Lana pretty well over my stay here, especially while waiting for Asa to heal.
"What seems to be the issue today?" Lana asks with a small smile.
"Lucy has been throwing up in the morning, all week. We don't know what's wrong," Asa explains.
"Any mood swings or cravings?" Lana questions with a bright smile.
Asa looks at her weirdly. "Why are you smiling? And yes, he has been happy one minute and then sad the next. It's insane. He's also asked for ice cream in the middle of the night, with popcorn."
Lana's smile grows even wider if that's possible. "I'll be right back" and with that, she leaves the room.
I look at Asa and we share curious looks, definitely confused by what just happened.
Lana comes back in with a machine that I don't recognize.
Asa's eyes widen and he seems to understand what's going on but I'm left clueless.
"Tm going to put this cold gel on your stomach," she says as she puts it on and then rubs this handle like a thing over stomach.
Does she think I have a tumor?! Something appears on the screen beside me, and Asa smiles brightly.
Lana still has that smile on her face as she says, "You're pregnant. That is your child, they are a month old."
I look at Asa in shock, happiness filling his features. I can't decide how I feel. I feel nervous, my heart is racing. But I also feel so inexplicably happy. Lana wipes the gel off my stomach and Asa gives me a big hug.
We're having a child!
Nine months later, our son Matthew Lucas was born.
Epilogue
Lucy's POV
Matthew has been quite the handful. I learned that royal wolves can only have one child, so Matthew is our only baby.
He has grown to be ten years old, and he is showing signs of being very submissive. He cowers away at others of high ranking, more than normal wolves would.
We are worried because he is meant to be the next Alpha, and he can't be submissive and control the pack.
Today I have a surprise for Matthew and Asa, wanting to do something nice for them. I'm setting up a family day at our spot, at the clearing.
I invited Asher and Ella, along with Nadia, who found her mate.
Turns out her mate is Cory, Nadia's wolf just hadn't matured enough to know who her mate was.
Eden and Ava are also coming
along, being practically family. No one talks about what Miller did, betraying us like that. We choose to ignore it all.
I bring Asa away from his Alpha duties and get Matthew from his room. He is reading Harry Potter, he's in the last book.
"Come on, Matthew. I have a surprise for you!"I exclaim, trying to get him excited.
"Can I finish this chapter first?" Matthew asks innocently.
I say a quick 'No, and Matthew listens, putting his book down and following me down the stairs.
Asa is waiting for us, and we all head off to the clearing.
The walk there is peaceful, us all enjoying each other's company silently.
Once we arrive, I see the picnic table thatI had Asa help me with. It's large enough to fit all of us, and it's filled with food.
We all eat an amazing lunch and swim until the sun sets.
Asa and I are relaxing in the cool water, watching Nadia's kids play with Matthew, him being kind of distant
Asa looks down at me, and asks,
"How did I get so lucky? I was blessed with the most amazing mate and child."
I respond, love seeping through my voice, "I don't know, but I'm grateful I get to keep loving my mate."
