Chapter twenty three

I woke up early the next morning and decided to make breakfast for us. I went downstairs into the kitchen and decided to make pancakes.

I was done cooking for almost thirty minutes and there was no sign of the twins coming down. So I decided to go and wake them up myself. Just as I was about to climb the stairs, I saw them coming downstairs.


“Good morning.” I greeted them.

“Good morning, little mate. Sorry if we kept you waiting for so long.”. Xavier pecked me on the cheek and walked towards the dining area.


“Good morning, sweetheart. Hope you sleep well?.” Xiao hugged me and pecked my forehead.

“I have a wonderful night.”. I replied to him, and he took my hand in his, and we started walking to the dining room, where Xavier was already waiting for us. Xavier has already pulled out of my seat and is waiting for me.


“Thank you”. I replied to him as I sat down. They both waited for me to be seated before doing so themselves. We said grace and started eating.


“The food is delicious.” Xiao complimented.

“I can get used to doing this every day.”. Xavier moaned as he took another bite.

“Thank you”. I smiled at them, and we continued eating. I actually want to ask them for permission so that I can go and visit Rose and Lisa, but I don’t know how to do it.

“You seem troubled. Is there anything you need?”. Xiao asked.


“Eh, it’s nothing,” I replied.

“O come. I thought we had passed that stage. Feel free to speak your mind.” Xavier chipped in the conversation.


“I wanted to ask you guys if I could go and visit Rose and Lisa. It’s been a long time since I saw them.” I finally spoke my mind. I don’t know if they will allow me, though.

“That’s it? You don’t have to ask for permission for stuff like this. You are not a prisoner here; of course, you can go out. You just need to go along with a guard.” Xavier said and I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding. I did not know why I thought that they wouldn’t let me go.

“After breakfast, I will make a call to Rose House so that she and Lisa can come and pick you up for your outing.”. Xiao said, and we continued eating in silence.

After we were done with breakfast, the twins volunteered to wash the dishes, and I went to my room. I took off my coat, leaving me in my sleeping dress only as I lay down to have a little nap.

All of a sudden, someone came knocking at my door.

“Come in!”. I shouted as I stood up.

“O Sophia! Sorry for disturbing you; I am here to inform you.”

I looked up to see Xavier, wondering why he stopped talking. He was staring at me intensely. I followed his eyes to see what was making him frozen.

“Ahhhh!”. I let out a scream when I looked at what I was wearing. Since I took off my coat, I have been left with my transparent nightwear. My whole body can be seen through it. I quickly rushed to the bed, took the coat, and wrapped myself in it. I refused to turn and look at Xavier because I was feeling embarrassed.

“Em-I am sorry, I just wanted to inform you that Rose and Lisa will be here by 10. So get ready!”. Xavier quickly said this and rushed out of the room as if he were being chased. I didn’t answer, and he didn't turn back until he went out.

“Ahhh!” I let out a scream again. How am I going to face him after so much embarrassment? After standing in the same position and lamenting for about a minute or so, I decided to go and have my bath and get ready before Rose and Lisa arrived.

I took my bath and decided to wear a long, flowery yellow gown since the day was sunny. I took a book and decided to read it to keep time before Rose and Lisa arrived.

After an hour and a half, a maid came and locked my door and told me that Lisa and Rose were there.
I dropped the book, put on white sandal heels, took one of my many white bags, and started heading out of the room.

I took a deep breath as I reached the last stairs. I don’t know how I can face Xavier after what happened this morning.

Luckily enough for me, the penthouse seemed empty, so I quickly rushed out and went into the elevator.
I went downstairs and made my way to the visitor lounge, where I guess Rose and Lisa were waiting for me.



“Princess Sophia!!!”. Lisa screamed as soon as she saw me, causing the guards and maids around to look at her. She stood up, rushed to me, and pulled me into a bone-crushing hug.


“I can’t breathe!.” I managed to say goodbye to her as she let me go, although she still maintained a big smile on her face.

“Look at you. Babe, you are glowing. The Alphas must have been treating you right. I missed you.” Lisa said while still maintaining a smile on her face.

“I missed you too.” I sincerely told her. The last time I saw her was the day I came to this palace.

“Em! I never see you, I am invisible!”. Rose sarcastically said. I made my way to her and gave her a tight hug.

“How are you? From the look on your face, I guess you are fine.” Rose said to me as I nodded my head at her.


“We have a lot of catch up to do, so let’s get going”. Lisa said as we all stood up and made our way to the front door.
