Chapter eighty three

Chapter seven of Alpha Asher and the hunter's daughter

“Hey, Anna! Is everything alright? I ask her once I reach where she is.

“Yes! I just want to be left alone. Thank you!.” She said and started walking ahead of me.

As much as I wanted to follow her, I respected her wish and left her alone. It’s obvious that she is hurt. It hurt me so much that my mate is hurt and I don’t even know the cause of it or what to do about it.

“Damn human!”. I stamp my feet as I walk into the school building. They are so unpredictable. It is so much easier to deal with werewolves than them.

When I arrived at the class, Anna was already sitting in her seat with her head bowed. Throughout the whole class period, she didn’t lift her head up even once.

My wolf is so confused and restless. We want to help our mate but we don’t know how. As soon as the bell for lunch rang, I headed for the tree in the garden. To my surprise, I decided to wait. Maybe she is cut up with something.

After about ten minutes, I saw her walking towards the garden at a very slow speed.

“Are you alright?”. I asked her once she was close to me. She kept quiet for about a minute before she opened her mouth and said a sentence that broke my heart into pieces.

“I think we should stop talking to each other!”.

Anna POV~

When I woke up, I found myself still lying down on the kitchen floor. I sat straight and held my head. I am having a very terrible headache. I recalled everything that happened yesterday when I came back from school. I can’t believe my father doesn't even have the decency of at least checking if I was dead. He just left me on the ground.

The house seems quiet so that means Dad is either out drinking or hunting. I got up from the position I was in. I look through the window and notice that the day has already. So that means I was unconscious throughout the night.

I opened our first aid cabinet and took some pain relief drugs. Then I started to clear the whole house. After that, I cooked breakfast before I went upstairs to take a shower.

My whole body aches so I took a hot bath to massage my body.

As I stood to look at myself in the mirror while I got ready for school, I noticed a big purple nurse below my left eye. Well, I guess I have to keep my eyes on the ground for the whole day then.

I may choose not to go to school but staying here is not an option. And I don’t know anywhere else. So I had no choice but to keep my eyes on the ground.

Once I finished dressing, I went downstairs to the kitchen and took an ice cube for my eyes. I used to massage the bruises on my face as I walked to the bus stop. Once I reached the bus, I threw the ice in the dustbin by the roadside and bowed my head down as I walked into the bus.

“Good morning Mr Joe.” I greeted him with my head bowed and without waiting for his reply, I went inside and took my seat by the window. Once we reached school, I stood to walk out of the bus with my head still bowed to the ground.

“Hey Anna, are you okay?.” Mr Joe asked me with his voice full of concern.

“Yes, Mr Joe. All good!.” I gave him a thumbs-up and left.

Just as I was about to enter the school building, I felt someone stand near me. By the scent of the person and also by how my heart was beating, I knew who was standing next to me.

“Hey, Anna! Is everything alright? He asked me.

Jez!! What’s up with everyone asking me this same question?

“Yes! I just want to be left alone. Thank you!.” I said and without waiting for him to reply, I started walking. One part of me is happy that he let me be while another part of me is disappointed that he didn’t follow me.

When I reached the class, only a few people were inside already. I headed to my regular seat at the back and sat down. A few minutes before the bell rang, Asher entered and came and sat next to me just like yesterday.

Throughout the classes, I could feel like looking at me but not talking or so I did.

Once it was time for lunch, Asher left the class without talking to me. I don’t know why I keep feeling disappointed that he is not making an attempt to talk to me when I am the one who asks him to let me be.

Honestly, I don’t understand my reaction to him since yesterday. I have never felt comfortable until he came along.

I walk out of the class and head for my locker. I wanted to carry my drawing book before going to the garden.

Just as I was about to open my locker, a high-pitched voice spoke from behind me.

“Well, well! Look who we have here!.”
