Chapter forty two

Xavier’s POV

Xiao and I stood and watched our mate run upstairs. It was not our intention to offend her. It just happened. I could feel my wolf's anger because of what we did. He is urging me to follow her up but I know she would not appreciate that at the moment. So I calmed him down. After all, we don't want her to be more angry than before.


“Bravo to us! We have succeeded in hurting our mate.” I sarcastically told no one in particular and sat on one of the sofas. Just last night, we took a step closer in our relationship and this morning we have taken two steps backwards.


“But it was not intentional. Do you think we should follow her?”. Xiao asked.

“I don’t think so. She made it clear that she wants to be alone.”

“So what do you think we should do in other to appease her anger?.” Xiao asked.

“Are you seriously asking me? We are in this together. I have no idea. It’s not as if I have ever been in a relationship or something to know what to do.” I can't believe Xiao is asking me this. Sure we messed around with her wolves back then but we never entered into a relationship with anyone. We wanted our only relationship to be with our mate. So I am as clueless as he is.

“Right! What are we going to do?.” We both sat down and thought about what to do and at the end, we decided to make her a super lunch date. I know it’s lame but you can’t blame us. That's the only thing we ended up agreeing on.

Sophia’s POV

As soon as I ran to my room, I lay down on my bed and started to sleep. I woke up two hours later because I was very hungry. I did not have dinner last night or breakfast this morning. I went and took my bath. I wore a turtleneck body hog long grown.

I decided to go downstairs and look for something to eat. I just hope the alphas are not downstairs. I don’t think I am ready to see them yet after the childish behaviour I did earlier today.

The penthouse downstairs was quiet when I went down. I guess they are not around then. A part of me felt relief while the other part of me was sad.


Suddenly, I started hearing playing from the balcony. Perplexed at what may be going on, I made my way to the balcony.

As soon as I drew the curtains apart, I was amazed at what I saw. With music playing in the background, the whole balcony’s floor is covered with petals. A table has already been set up with three chairs and different varieties of food.

“Impressive!”. I thought. I wonder where the twins are because there is no sign of them. I saw a note on the table addressed to me.

“Look down”

That is the only two words written on the note. I move to the rail and look down.

I screamed at what I saw. Displayed on the ground are different colours of Rose flowers arranged in such a way that it spells; “We are so sorry.”

I covered my mouth with my right hand as a sob escaped my mouth.

“I don’t deserve them! I don’t deserve them. They are too amazing to stick with me.” I lamented inwardly. I can’t believe they organized all this within two hours. They did not even do anything wrong, I was the one being childish. Yet they do all this in order to apologize to me.


“Little Mate!”. I heard a voice call out and I turned to see both Xiao and Xavier standing and each of them was holding a flower. That is when I lost it. I finally burst into tears.

Seeing the state I was in, they both rushed to me. They stood close to me without actually touching me.

“Hey are you alright? Did we do something wrong? Shit! We are sorry we don’t mean to hurt you, it's not our intention”. Xiao coored.

“Yeah little trust me, the last we will ever think of is to hurt you. Heck, we would rather hurt ourselves than hurt you intentionally.” Xavier added to what Xiao had earlier said.



“It’s.. I…I am not angry, these are happy tears”. I stated and they both let out a breath of relief.


“That’s good. We are sorry. Forgive us?”. They both said and pushed the flowers in their hand to me.


“There is no need for all this, you guys did not offend me. I was the one being unreasonable. I am sorry!.” I apologize with my head bowed.

“O no need for you to do that, we understand your point,” Xiao said.

“No, I…” I began to say before Xavier placed his finger on my mouth to shut me up.

“Shhhh! Enough with all that I am sorry. Let’s move on from it. I am famished and the food is getting cold. Let’s eat.” Xavier declared ending the discussion. We all moved to the table and had our seats.

“Did you guys make this?.” I asked them. All the dishes look well prepared.

“Nope. Cooking is not one of our many talents, sadly, the chefs made it.” Xavier said.

We eat the food, and after that, we spend the whole afternoon and evening chatting with each other. I had a lot of fun. I am happy the day ended so well.

In the evening, the Alphas said that they would love to introduce me to their wolf and vice versa.

They both closed their eyes and when they had opened it again, their eyes were darker than usual. That is when I understand that their wolves have taken over.
