Chapter nine of the Alpha and the hunter's daughter


“Asher!”

I don’t know what prompted me to shout his name but I just did. He stopped walking when I called his name but didn’t turn to look at me. After he waited for a few minutes and I didn’t say anything, he walked away hurriedly.

I sat down on the ground and wept. I don’t know why I am so much affected by this. I just met him yesterday but it seems as if a part of me left him. My heart aches so much.

I sat on the ground and wept. I wonder why I am so unfortunate in life. I wish I had died instead of Mom in that accident. Everything will have been alright.


I sat and cried until there were no more tears to shed. I lay down on the grass and plainly kept looking at the sky. Even when lunchtime was over, I didn’t make any attempt to leave. I sat on the grass until it was time for closing. I went to my locker grabbed my back and left for home or should I say hell.

Asher POV

“You are disrupting my peaceful life!”.

I can’t describe how I felt when she said those words. Yesterday we moved a step closer to each other and two we took about twenty-five steps back words.

I can feel my heart breaking into pieces. Kane is also screaming in anguish in my head.


“Wow! Just wow. I don’t even know what to say!.” I hurtfully stated. I don’t mean to come strong on her. We werewolves are used to making a claim on our mate once we found them but I guess humans don’t work that way.


“I am so sorry, I did not intentionally mean to disrupt your peaceful life. Don’t worry, I will leave you alone henceforth. I just wanted us to be friends that’s all!”. I apologize and turn to leave.

“Asher!.” I heard her call me when I moved some steps away from her. I stood still without turning to look at her. When she refused to talk, I walked away.


My Heart is burning and I have a bit of a fever. It’s as if my mate rejected me. Well from today, I don’t think she will like to talk to me again.

I ran out of the school. I can’t stay here anymore. Because the longer I stay, the more I can’t breathe. Without the care of my car or my other stuff in school, I ran into the forest opposite the school.


As soon as I ran into the forest, I tore my clothes and transformed into my wolf form. I kept running around the forest for a long time before I finally headed to the pack.

Just before I entered the pack house, I transformed back into my human form and got dressed. We usually leave clothes around the pack’s forest so that we can have clothes to wear after we shift back to our human form.


Because of the look on my face, nobody talks to me as I pass them. I headed straight for my room lay on my head and kept looking at the ceiling.

“Son! Can I come In?.” I turned to the door and saw Mom peeping her head into my room. I sat up straight and Mom took it as a clue and entered fully into the room.


“Is everything alright?.” Mom asked as she sat next to me.


“I don’t know Mom!.” I stated in a defeated voice.


“What’s wrong? Talk to me, I am your mother!.” Mom said as she placed her hand on my cheek and ceased it.


“My mate and I had a fallout today. I noticed something was wrong with her when she came to school today, I tried to talk to her but she ignored me. During lunch, I followed her to the garden and she told me that I was disturbing her peaceful life.” I explained to Mom with tears in my eyes. Call me a baby but I won’t care, right? The pain of your mate rejecting you is the worst kind of pain you can feel as a werewolf.



“O son! Everything is going to be alright!.” Mom hugged me tight as she tried to comfort me.


“How Mom? My mate hates me.” I declared.


“No! Stop talking like that. Based on your story, I don’t think she meant to say those words. Something or someone must have offended her and she decides to take it out on the person available and that if you!.” Mom explained.


“You think?”. I asked her.


“I don’t think so, I know. Stop moping around and cheer up. Tomorrow, go to school and try and talk to her. !.” Mom declared.


“But what if she refuses to talk to me?.” I voice out my fear to Mom.


“Then keep trying until she agrees. I didn’t give birth to a quitter!.” Mom exclaimed.


“Thank you, mom, you are the best.” I hugged her tight. That is the main job of Luna. They provide comfort to the pack members when they need it.


The next day, I woke up with a determination to get my mate to talk to me.

Since I left my car at school, Jake, one of our pack members, gave me a lift to school.

I head straight to my locker to get my book.


“Hello, handsome!.” I turned to see the girl from the other day. Benny or Bity or whatever her name is.

“Yes, how may I help you?.” I asked her in a bored voice.


“Morning to you too! I am having a party at my place this weekend, and I want you to come!.” She passed me an invitation card.

“Not interested!.” I said as I closed my locker.


“O come on, that is the least you can do to thank me after I warn you!”. She pouted out and I looked at her as if she was crazy because I can’t remember a freak disturbing my life.

When she saw the look on my face, she explained herself.

“O I am talking about that freak Anna! I told her to stay away from you!.” She proudly declared as if she was proud of herself.


“You did what?.”
