Chapter thirty seven

Xavier placed his lips on hers covering the distance between them. He slowly nibbled on her lower lips kissing her a bit hungrily and intensely. And it’s like his brain warned him about what he was doing and he reluctantly pulled away.

Sophia could swear she missed his touch already, his heat and the taste of him in that split second that he broke the kiss and she felt a bit hurt.


“Am I such a bad kisser or what is wrong? Why did he stop kissing me?”. Sophia began to internally question herself.

When Xavier saw the look of hurt on her face, he quickly explained his reasons.

“It’s not as if I don’t want to kiss you, but I am not sure we should be doing this”. He said looking away as he took a step backwards. “You are tempting and…”

His remaining words were silent by her mouth. She had kissed him without any hesitation. At first, Xavier was shocked and surprised but as soon as he got over it, he gladly took control of the kiss. He kissed her like a man who had been starving for a month but he was also gentle at the same. After some time of sucking her lips, he asked for permission which she gladly gave to him. His tongue and hers fought for dominance but he soon won over. Everywhere was silent, the only sound that could be heard was the sound of their soft moans and the water from the fountain.

After some time, they stopped to catch their breath.


“Wow!”. Sophia gushes out trying to calm her breathing.

“Yeah wow! I have always wanted this”. Xavier said as he placed a kiss on my forehead. He smiled at me and I smiled back at him. We stood there staring at each other. And before we knew it, we were back to kissing each other . Again. Unlike the first kiss which is all rushed up, this one is gentle, soft and full of passion. Sophia placed her hands around Xavier’s neck and drew him closer to her. Xavier seeing this, tightened his hold on her waist drawing her close until there was no space left between them. They both let out a moan when their bodies touch each other. They kissed for a while before they separated when they were out of breath. They place their foreheads together as they both try to catch their breath.


“We have to get going. Is already late. The party has already rounded up”. Xavier said with a husky voice as he let go of Sophia. As soon as Sophia, suddenly missed him and started to feel cold. She immediately wraps her arms around her body to warm her body up.


When Xavier noticed this, he removed his jacket and placed it around her body. He then held her hand as they made their way back to the crowd.


Xavier leads through an entirely different route than the one they have earlier followed. Since Sophia was not familiar with this route and it was already dark, she kept on tripping from time to time.


When Xavier had enough of her tripping off, without warning he swept her off her feet and Sophia subconsciously wrapped her hand around his neck.

“What…what are you doing? Drop me off.” Sophia shyly said as she playfully hit him on the chest.


Xavier did as if he did not hear her and kept on walking.


“Xavier please!.” Sophia said, trying to persuade him. They were almost close to the crowd and she wondered how people would react when they saw them in this position.


“This is actually the first time you called my name. But my answer is still no. I can't have you injured while you are together with me. Nope that’s not going to happen.” Xavier firmly said and kept on walking with Sophia in his arms.


“But what will people say when they see us like this?.” Sophia asked him, trying to get him to reason with her.


“And so what if they see us like this. I am not ashamed to be seen with you so I would not mind whatever they say and you shouldn't either”. Xavier said. His words warm my heart.

“I don’t mean it like that. I am sorry.” I apologize to Xavier. I don’t want him to think that I am ashamed to be seen with him. I said what I said because of his reputation. I don’t want to be the reason anyone will bad mouth him.

“You don’t have to apologize. I am not angry. I just hope that you will completely trust in Xiao and me”. Xavier said as he dropped a kiss on Sophia’s temple. After that, they both kept quiet and continued to walk. Sophia didn’t even notice when they crossed the bridge. But to her surprise, they did not go into the crowd but rather kept on the quiet route they were following. They were almost at the front of the event centre. So Sophia guesses they must have followed the other side of the building which Mrs Grace had earlier told them that it was out of boundaries to them.


“Alpha!”. The guard standing at the front of the building greeted me.

“Good evening James. Where is my brother?”. Xavier asks the guard.

“He is already in the car sir waiting for you.” The guard explained.



“Good.!” Xavier said as he passed the guard. He saw the car waiting at the Alpha’s parking space. Once he reached the car, he dropped Sophia and opened the door for her to enter.

Sophia entered the car to see a smiling Xiao inside already. Xavier entered the car after her and closed the door.

Sophia is now caged between the two Alphas. Both sides of her thigh are touching theirs. Her breathing hiked up and the butterflies in her stomach stood dancing wildly. Sophia made a silent prayer hoping to survive the journey back to the palace because she was already feeling like she was going to get a heart attack.
