Chapter twenty one

I went upstairs to my room and entered the walk-in closet to see that Jane was already directing the rest of the maids on what to do.

“Good evening Mam”. Jane and the others greeted me. I still find it very awkward that people keep referring to me as “Mam”. Not long ago, I was the one calling others with that title but lol at how the story has changed for me. Everything is now beginning to fall into place. I just miss Aliyah my wolf. I hope she resurfaces back soon enough.


“Evening Jane!”. I tiredly greeted Jane and the other maids. Am actually very tired and I want to sleep but that will be rude. I mean they are here working for me and then I just sleep off. It won’t tell good about me.

“Mam, you look very tired. Why don’t you take a nap? I will handle everything. I will wake you up once we are done so that you can get ready for dinner.” Jane suggested. Bless her soul she just made things easy for me. I nodded my head in agreement and excused myself and went out of the closet back into the room and slept off.


And an hour and thirty minutes later, Jane woke me up to get ready for dinner.

I got up and entered the closet to change out of my dress. I looked around the closet and I am quite impressed at how they arranged it. The shoes were kept in a section as well as the bags, casual outfits, cooperates and so on. I loved it. It’s easier for me to choose an outfit now.


I took my bath and came out to see that Jane had already chosen an outfit for me. A long sleeveless flay long dress, a boyfriend jacket and a sandal hills.

“Hope you like the outfit, Mam. Since you are having dinner in the garden I thought this would be okay.” Jane explained.

“It’s fine. But how do you know we are having dinner in the garden?”. I asked her.

“O everyone knows. They Alphas prepare the place themselves when you go out shopping”. Jane excitedly explained. I took the clothes and went in and changed into them.


“So what do you think?”. I asked Jane.


“You look beautiful Mam. Have a seat and let me comb your hair.” Jane said and I sat at the vanity table’s stool Jane took a comb and started combing my hair.

“How old are you Jane?”. I asked her.

“Am seventeen Mam”. She answered. I let out a breath. I thought we were age mates and that would really be awkward to have my age mate call me “Mam”.


“And your mate. Have you found him or not yet? I don’t mean to prey on your life. You can choose not to answer.”

“It’s fine actually. And yes I have found my mate since the age of sixteen. He is my brother's best friend whom I have always had a crush on as a little girl”. Jane cheerfully answered me.


“Really? That’s nice to hear. I would love to hit him one day.” I answered her.

“That will be fine. But I think you have met him already. He is the Gamma of this pack”. Jane said.

“Wait what! Your mate is the Gamma? Wow, I would have never guessed. But why are you walking as a maid then when your mate is the third in command to the whole pack.” I questioned her still shocked at such discoveries.


“I get that a lot. Plus am not a maid. Am a caretaker.” She answered me. I frowned; “what does she mean my caretaker?”.

Jane must have guessed my thoughts; “Since the Omega is weak in nature but compassionate. The Alphas came up with the caretaker idea. Where those interested are trained on how to give an assisting hand when needed. Some of us work in the nursery schools, so as babysitters and so in the hospital.”


“If that’s the case, why did you agree to work for me? If I had known, I would have chosen someone else.” I said.


“O no it’s fine! I wanted to be here and I love every minute of it!”. Jane sincerely said. I admire her humility.


“Here you go!” Jane said and dropped the comb on the vanity table. I looked at myself in the mirror and saw that she had styled my hair into a wavy form.


“I love it thanks!.” I her.


“Okay. It’s already time for dinner, let’s get going. Am accompanying you there”. Jane said and we both got up and left. We went out of the house and walked towards the direction of the garden.

“This is my stop. You are having dinner at the patio. Go now and don’t keep your mate waiting. Alpha men hate waiting.” Jane said and she pushed me towards the direction of the patio before she turned back and left.



I walked into the garden towards the direction of the patio. I feel very nervous like the girl on her first date. I have never been on a date and I don’t know if this one will count as one.


As I walked closer to the patio, I noticed candles lit up on both sides of the pathway. Amazing! I smiled as I kept on walking. I heard music playing in the background.


I am now standing next directly looking at the patio. I saw both of my mates standing at the entrance of the patio looking as if they were posing for a photo shoot. They were both wearing turtlenecks which I noticed they liked to wear. One wearing ash while the other is wearing Gray color. I don’t know how to differentiate them since I can’t see the colour of their eyes from where am standing. They were both holding white lilies in their hands which I guess are meant for me.


I walk towards them with a big smile on my face. The more I draw near to them, the more the butterflies dancing in my stomach increase.


I soon reach very close to them with the stairs separating me and them. Xavier reached forward and gave me his hands to help me climb up the stairs. Such gentle men, I got as my mate.


I am now standing next to them. The butterflies in my stomach were wild now and my heart decided to join them.


“These are for you, little mate,” Xavier said and handed me the flowers in his hands.


“You are looking very lovely,” Xiao said as he passed his own flowers to me then he dropped a kiss on my forehead causing me to blush deeper. My cheeks are now paining few to how much I have blushed in the last two days but I guess I have to get used to it because these twins love to make me blush.


“Thank you!”. I shyly said.


“You are welcome. Let’s eat you must be famished”. Xiao said as he shifted from the door entrance so that I could enter inside.
