Chapter fifty seven

Xavier POV~


After a lovely breakfast with my mate, Xiao and I went to our office to handle our official duties. I am so happy that Sophia has finally warmed up to us. I thought it was going to be a long time before it did, but here it is. Closer to each other. She is perfect in so many ways and I won’t not wish for another mate apart from her.

After spending about four hours in the office, I heard a knock at the door.

“Come in!”. Xiao shouted. I hope that it will be our mate, which I know it’s almost impossible. She hardly comes to our office. The door opened and in came the gamma with a worried look on his face.

“Yes Alfred. How can we help you?.” Xiao asked him and I saw the look of uncertainty on his face. As if he is afraid to talk or I don’t even understand.


“I. .. he..” Gamma Alfred started to say something before he kept shut. Okay so now he is getting me really worried.


“What is wrong Alfred. Say it out” I commanded using my Alpha voice on him.


“Derrick came back from the school alone. He said that Miss Sophia it’s nowhere to be found!.”
Gamma Alfred said and moved back. As soon as he said the last part, I could feel my heart freeze.

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY Our MaTE IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND?.” Xiao shouted.

“I don’t know. But I already have the Guards looking for her. You don’t have to worry.” Alfred explained. My eyes darkened at him when he said the last part.

“What do you mean we should not worry? We are talking about our mate for god sake.” I shouted. I left the office and rushed downstairs.

“Alpha!”. The guards greeted me as I passed by.

“To the school!.” I instructed the driver as I entered the car. My heart kept beating very fast. I just hope it is not missing. Earlier this morning, we received news from our neighbouring pack about some rogue attack. That only helps to intensify my fear. We are not yet mated to her so there is no way we can scent her.

We entered the school premises. I saw the school director walking towards us.

“Mr Alpha! Welcome. To whom do we owe this visit?.” The director asked.

“Greetings to you too. Information came to me that a teacher is missing. Am I right?.” Part of me wished that it was all a joke.

“Yes Alpha. I don’t know if she is actually really missing. Maybe she felt sick and left early or something like that. I will have the head of the nursery investigate the matter when she comes back to school tomorrow.” The director explained provoking more than I was already. He should be lucky he said this to my face and not to Xiao’s. Because then I am not sure what will become of it.


“This is what you are paid to do? A member of your staff is nowhere to be fine and this is the rubbish you are saying?.” I shouted and everyone close to me moved back.


“No Mr Alpha, I don’t mean it to sound like that. But I strongly believe she must have gone home earlier than she was supposed to. It’s not ..” The director started saying but was shut up by Xiao strangling him. I didn't even notice he had arrived.

“Now listen and listen carefully. That is our mate missing. I assure you that if she is not found in an hour, consider yourself dead.!” Xiao threatened before he let the man go. The eyes of everyone widened when they heard that Sophia was our mate. Apart from the beta, his mates Amanda, Alfred, Jane, Rose and Lisa, we haven’t told anyone about Sophia being our mate. Some of the people working in the palace have already guessed.


“Mr Alpha, we are sorry for our unconcerned behaviours. We promise to do our best to help in every way we can to make sure Luna is found as soon as possible.” The assistant director apologized. The director is not able to speak because he is still trying to regulate his breath. I almost felt bad for him. Almost! Until I remember his nonchalant attitude towards my mate's disappearance.

“Good. Now have someone check the staff attendance to see if she has left the school or not!.” I commanded and two people rushed into a building and came out a minute later.

“She has not signed out!.” One of the informed.

“Good that means she is around the school somewhere. What of the class she teaches? When last was she seen there?”. I asked as I tried to analyze the situation.


“We went out for lunch, she didn’t follow us to the cafeteria and when I came back, she was nowhere to be found.” A lady who I guess is her co-class teacher explained.

“Very good then. Let’s differentiate ourselves and check the buildings. If she is not yet found, we will check the forest behind the school.” Xiao commanded and everyone immediately rushed into action.

“Alpha, why don’t you try and see if you can communicate with her through the pack’s mind link.” Beta Jason urged me. I don’t know why I haven’t thought of that at face value.

I took a deep breath and called her.

“Sophia!”

“Sophia, can you hear me?”.

I tried calling her for the fifth time but there were no responses. I decided to try again for the last time.

“Sophia?”.

“Xavier is that you?”. She asked in a tired voice. I let out a sigh of relief.
