Chapter seventy nine

Chapter three of Alpha Asher and the Hunter's daughter.

“Mate!!!” Kane shouted.

“Wait! What?”.

“That’s our mate, you moron!”. Kane shouted in my head. I can’t believe it. Finally, I have found my mate after two years of searching.
Dad was right when he said that he had positive feelings.

Before I could compose myself, I could not see her anymore. I could only perceive her scent faintly. I am quite disappointed that I am not able to get a glimpse of my mate, but since we are in this school together, I will surely find her before the closing hours.

I closed my locker and made my way to my first class. I had English first and then algebra. Good thing I don’t have chemistry today. I hate that subject with passion.


When I entered the class, the teacher was already there. A petty woman who looks like she is in her early thirties. I greeted her and gave her my slip. Just as I wanted to go and look for a seat, she told me to stand. I need to introduce myself to the class. Moments like this, I hate so much. This is the main reason why I hate being a new student. You have to stand up and introduce yourself.


The teacher cleared her throat and addressed the class: “Well, class, we have a new transfer student joining us. I will allow him to introduce himself to us.”.

As I turn to face the class, the sweet scent of my mate heats up my nose. I look around the class to see if I can spot her. She is seated at the end of the classroom. It's almost as if she wants to be invisible. She is also wearing a hoodie, so I can’t see her face.


“Asher!”. The teacher tapped me, bought me, and brought me out of my thoughts. I had forgotten that I was in front of the class and spaced out. My main focus was only on my mate.


“Sorry Mam. Hello guys, my name is Asher Austin. Nice to meet you all.”. I introduce myself with a small smile on my face. All the girls in the class giggled well, except my mate. She looks so uninterested in anything going on around her.



“Is that all you have to say?”. The teacher questioned me.

“Yes Mam!”. I replied to her. I am not going to start sharing my personal profile with people that don’t actually matter to me.


“Alright then Asher, you may have a seat!.” The teacher demoted me and a girl immediately raised her hands.

“Yes Miss Kelvin?”. The teacher asked her.

“O I want to ask Asher a question.” She said biting on her lower lips. I wonder who lied to girls that biting their lower lips is hot and sexy.

“Go ahead with your question then!”. The teacher permitted her.

“Em. Asher, I want to ask if you have a girlfriend because if you don’t, I am available.” The girl bit her lower lips harder. She looks like a real hooker now. I am not surprised if she is one. Some of the girls cheered for her.

I try to keep a neutral face and control myself from answering. Because if I give her an answer right now, she is going to remember it for the rest of her life.

“Miss Kelvin! Sit down now! I am sorry, Asher; you may go and have your seat.” The teacher said this as she turned to write on the board.

Most of the girls who had an empty seat were waving at me. I acted like I didn’t see them and went and sat near my friend.


“Hi!”. I said this to her with a smile on my face. But to my surprise, she acted as if she didn’t hear me at all. I greeted her the second time and still didn’t get a response from her. So I decided to lay down for one. I will talk to her during lunch.


Three classes later, it was lunchtime. Before I say a word, my friend is out of the class, as if someone is chasing her.

O wow! I decided to follow her. I stood outside the classroom, helpless. There is no sign of her at all.


“Hello, Asher!”

I look up and see a girl who is barely wearing clothes on her body looking at me.

“Yes?”. I asked, wondering what she wanted from me.

“My name is Betty, and I want to invite you to come and sit with me and my friends for lunch.”. She pouted. She looks like a stray cat by the way she acts, but that’s not my problem.

“No thanks, but can I ask you something?.” I asked with a sweet voice, which I know will work for her.


“Yes, sure, anything you want!.” She excitedly said,.

Girls! I imaginarily rolled my eyes.


“What’s up with the girl that sat close to me in class?.” I ask


“Anna? That girl is a freak. I will advise you to stay away from her. She is such a loner. She does not talk to anyone. She is always wearing that hideous hoodie. She even sits in the garden during lunch because she has no friends.” She said it with a voice full of disgust. I am very furious because of the way she talked about my mate. I try to stop my wolf from snapping at her. I don’t want to draw attention to myself just the first day here. Mom won’t be happy about it.


Without replying to her, I left and rushed to the garden. Once I reach there, I spot my mate seated far in the garden under a tree. It seems as if she is either drawing or writing.

I slowly walk towards her.


“Mind if I join you?”. I softly ask her to pray to the moon goddess that she does say no or leave.
