Chapter sixteen

Claire POV~

After dinner, we decided to have some talk before I started yawning. I was actually sleepy but I didn't want to be rude and tell them I was sleepy so I kept on yawning.


“Sorry we didn’t notice you were sleepy. You would have told us. Come let's get you to sleep”. Xiao said and we all got up and went outside the dining room. I noticed that we were passing through an entirely different hallway than the one the maid and I followed when we were coming earlier on. We soon reach a golden elevator that says “Alpha only”. And my heart started beating very fast. I hope they don’t expect me to sleep in the same room as them because I am not ready for that.


“Wait! This is not the way to my room.” I summoned courage and said out loud.


“That was never your room. That's the clinic and since you are better now, you will stay in your room. Your stuff has already been moved there.” Xavier explained.

To think that my heart wouldn’t beat any faster, it started beating very crazy and I started to freak out. There is no way that I will sleep with them. I am certainly not ready for that.


Xiao must have guessed what I was thinking about. “ Hey, no need to panic, we are not going to make you sleep in the same room as us. We know you are not ready for that. You have a separate room for now.” Xiao state and my heartbeat finally calmed down.


We entered the elevator and Xavier pressed the Alpha cave button. So they have a whole floor for themselves. That’s impressive.



Soon the elevator stopped and we went outside into a hallway. The hallway is empty with only hangings of paintings on the wall and a golden double door at the far end of the hall.


As we reached the door, Xavier swiped in a card and the door immediately opened. When we entered the room. I was speechless.

The “room” is an entire luxurious penthouse. It is a story building with a glass staircase at the left side of the apartment. The sitting room has high ceilings. With long crystal bulbs. The whole place screams "expensive". Never in my eighteen years have I seen such luxury.


“Welcome to our cave. This is our personal space. Come let’s show you to your room”. Xavier said and started walking towards the stairs and I followed him while Xiao followed at my back. We climbed up the stairs and walked past doors and then finally stopped at one.

“This is our room, ours is just opposite it. If you need anything at any time, you can come knocking.” Xavier said.


“Okay. Good night”. I said in a tired voice.


“Good night princess, have a sweet dream”. Xavier said and I looked at Xiao waiting for his own good night. I noticed that he doesn't like talking at all. He started walking and didn’t stop until he reached my exact front leaving a little distance between us.

“Can I hug you please?.” He asked in a desperate voice. I wonder what is going on in his head. I nodded at him to go ahead.


He hugged me tight and my heart began beating very fast again. He smells like heaven. “Good night my little mate!.” He said pecked me on the forehead and released me. I suddenly felt warm all over me.

“Wait! It’s not fair at all. Where is my own hug?.” Xavier childishly murmured. I opened my hands to him and he immediately came forward and hugged me. He also gave me a peck on my forehead and whispered into my; “we will always be here for you.”

Without saying anything, I quickly entered my so-called room and closed the door. I lean off the door and try to calm my heartbeat. My emotions were all over the place. I can’t believe I'm feeling this way just because of a hug and a peck. What if they finally kiss me on the lips? I think I will end up in the hospital when that happens.


After leaning at the door for about ten minutes, I was able to control my heartbeat so I decided to turn on the light. I was beyond shocked. I can’t believe this is my room. Maybe they made a mistake. The room is very big, almost as big as the whole ground floor of my parent's house. The room looks like a room fit for not just any regular queen but an empress herself. Everything in the room is made of purple, white and gold. It has a queen-sized bed in the middle of the room with two stools at the side. A vanity table at the left side of the room near the bed. A mini library which is fully stocked with different genres of books. I walked around the room with my mouth open. At the far end were two doors. I opened the first one and it was a walk-in closet which was empty except for the sleeping clothes on the first shelves. This closet is too big for one person I thought. I came out and entered the second door and it was the bathroom/toilet. It has a jacuzzi at the centre. A big shower and a sauna too. Wow, I can sleep in this bathroom because of its beauty. I came back into the room and opened the double glass door that leads to the balcony. The fresh air blew as soon as I entered the balcony. From my room, I have a view of their beautiful garden. I went back into the room. I took a shower and changed into one of my size sleeping clothes.

As I approached the bed, I noticed a card on one of the stools addressed to me and I took the card and read it.

Dearest Sophia,

I hope you love your new room.
Have a good night's sleep.
From your lovely mates.

I hugged the card to my chest and reread it on and on. They are so sweet. I dropped it on the stool and made a mental note to thank them tomorrow during breakfast.


As I lay down to sleep, I had a wonderful dream about my mates.
