Chapter thirty two

Just as Amanda said, we first all went shopping for outfits. Since it is not a dinner or hall party. Amanda ended up choosing a black and white chiffon dress for me. After that, we went to the salon to have my hair and nails done. By the time we were done, we spent almost five hours.

After we were done, we headed to Amanda’s house because according to her, I was not supposed to arrive with the Alphas because that would be awkward. So I am to get ready in Amanda’s house and go together with her.

When we arrived at Amanda’s house. I kept looking around the house. I don’t think I am supposed to call it a house because it’s too big to be called a house. The building is very big and beautiful. Unlike the Alpha’s palace, this house is made in a contemporary style having glass windows and walls.

“Your house it’s very beautiful”. I was complimented.

“Thank you. And as much as I would love to give you a tour of the house, there is no time for that. So when next you visit, I will give you the tour”. Amanda said as she guided me upstairs into a bedroom.

“Take a shower and put on your dress. I will come and do your make-up when I am done. Let me go and get change too”. Amanda said as she dropped the shopping bag on the bed and left the room.

Since I knew that we had less than two hours before the ceremony began, I hurried into the bathroom to have a quick shower. And then I came out and wore my dress. Just as I was about to put the last button, Amanda came in with a makeup box in her hand. I did a double intake of breath when I saw her dressing. She is putting on a black sleeveless jumpsuit, a pair of golden shoes and a gold necklace and bangles. She had her hair curled up in a wavy form. She also did her make-up light. She looks breathtaking. Like a celebrity stylist, she is.

“We don’t have much time to waste. Come and sit down, let me do your makeup”. Amanda beacon on me to sit on the vanity’s table stool.


I sat down as she began to paint my face. After twenty minutes she was done. I looked at my face in the mirror and smiled. I actually like the make-up she did on my face. It suits quite well

“You can admire yourself later. Quick wear your shoes and jewelry and let’s get going. It won’t look nice if you actually turn up late.” Amanda said. She actually has a point. If I came late to the ceremony, many of the pack members may think that I was not serious about wanting to join the pack. I brought out my shoes from the shopping bag and wore them. Then I took my jewellery and put them on too. Perfect! It’s time to go now.

“Let’s go”. Amanda said and we went downstairs to see a car already waiting for us.

We went to the other side of the town and we soon arrived at a place that looked like an event center.

“This is the pack’s multi-purpose center. It is big enough to carry the whole pack at the same time. So whenever we have any gathering that requires a large number of people, we have it here”. Amanda explained as we alighted from the car. The event centre looks very big and it is well decorated. I looked around and saw that only a few people were present.

As we walked past people, everybody greeted us. It seems as if they all know Amanda after all she is the one number celebrity stylist in town and also the mate of the pack’s beta.


Amanda walked us through the side of the building which led us to a hallway we entered. We kept on walking until we reached the second to the last door. On top of the door was written “ new members '. Amanda knocked at the door and we were asked to come in. Inside the room which is a lounge are three people sitting nervously while about four people were standing with a uniform on their body. At the back of their uniform is written “Java tutors '. So I guess the ones sitting down are the other soon-to-be members of the pack also.


“Alright, you are waiting here. I will see you when the ceremony starts okay? Don't be nervous.” Amanda said as she gave me a hug before she walked out of the room leaving me to stand alone at the door.

“Hello, welcome, please come in and have a seat”. One of the workers beckoned me to sit on the seat he was pointing at.


“Thank you”. I told him and made my way to get a seat. I greeted the other three people who were sitting down before I sat down and started staring at the floor as if there was something interesting about it.

Just then, the door opened and Mrs Grace, who tutored me two days ago, entered the lounge. I let out a deep breath. Finally a face I know.


“Good evening Mam”. The other workers greeted her. She responded to their greetings before she turned to face me with a smile on her face.

“Sophia! How are you doing?”. She asked me as she came close to me.


“I am fine thank you”. I reciprocated her smile.


“You are looking good. Let me guess. Amanda has a hand in this outfit.” Mrs Grace asked again.


“Yes, she does”. I replied to her and she nodded at me before she stood up and went over to have. Seat in front of the lounge facing us.

For a good twenty minutes, they brief us on what we are expected to do and what not to do during the oath-making. And soon we were ready to go out and face the crowd.
