Chapter Forty

I did not plan to wake up early today. But Aaliyah needed a run so I gave in. Since I shifted almost two months ago, the Olomouc time that I was able to run was for the two days that I was a rogue. And since then with all that has been happening, there was not enough time for me to do so.


I change from my nightwear into a sweatshirt and pants and head downstairs. The penthouse looks empty and my mates were not in sight so I guess they must be in their office or attending to their Alpha duties.

I left the penthouse and went downstairs hoping to find someone who could help with the direction for the perfect location to have a run. Every Pack has their rules concerning running and joking. There are places you aren’t supposed to run for security purposes or whatever.

After getting out of the elevator, I saw the gamma from afar so I called out to him.


“Gamma Alfred!”. I shouted hoping that he would hear me. He turned back and when he saw that I was the one calling him, he rushed to me.


“Good morning Luna”. The Gamma greeted with a bow. He is one of the few people that have already started calling me Luna and no matter how many times I asked them to stop, they refused so I allowed them to be.


“Good morning to you too.” I greeted her.

“ Congratulations to you for becoming an official member of this pack. In a few month's time, we will gather again and crown you the Luna of this pack”. Gamma Alfred teases me.


“Thank you so much. And please stop with the whole Luna coronation stuff. You will make me start thinking hard”. I said to him, I deliberately try my best not to think about becoming the Luna of this great pack in the near future. Because if I do think about it, I can have a nervous breakdown.

“As you wish Luna. By the way, you called me. How may I be of help to you this early morning?”. Gamma Alfred inquired.


“I want to go for a run in my wolf form. I don’t know which area is safe for that. I read in the constitution of the pack that there are paths for running and there are paths that are not meant for. I don’t want to cause any trouble.” I explained to him.


“Well, that’s right. If you are not planning to go for a very long run, you can do that in the palace garden behind the building. It is safe and you can also have all the privacy you need.” Gamma Alfred explained to me.


“That is fine by me. Which door leads to the garden? I am still not completely familiar with the palace building.” I said to myself, I have actually tried my best to locate some of the rooms, especially the ones that I will be making use of very often. The palace is so big that there is no way I can know all the rooms.


“It happened to all of us at first. Heck until this day, the only people who knew the whole room by heart are your mates. Come let me show you the way.” Gamma Alfred said as he led me through a hallway I had never even gone to. We passed a door and we were soon outside the building. There were guards and maids all over the place. They greeted us as we passed. We kept walking until we reached the beginning of the mighty garden.

“You can start from here, I will ask the maids and guards not to disturb you. Have a nice run”. Gamma Alfred said to me and turned and started heading back into the building.

“Thank you”. I shouted to him and he waved his hands without even turning back.

I entered the garden and looked for a spot where I could keep my clothes so that I could have something to wear after the run. When I finally rounded the spot, I took off my clothes and then transformed into my wolf form.

I ran around the garden for about two hours and thirty minutes before I started getting tired so I decided to call it a day. I went back to the spot where I kept my clothes transformed back to my human form and quickly put on my clothes.

I head back to the building. I greeted the maids as I passed by. They all gave me a kind of smile that I had no idea what it meant.

“Luna!”. Someone called out and I turned to see Jane smiling as she waved at me. I beacon on her to come closer. And as soon as she did, I hugged her. She is one of the people with whom I am very free within this pack.

“Good morning Luna.” Jane greeted me.

“Morning Jane. I saw your mate about two hours ago.” I told her.

“Yeah! The pack officials have a meeting with the Alphas.” She explained. I understand why the penthouse was empty this morning.


“How was your night Luna? Jane asks with a secret smile on her face.

“It was lovely”. I answered her. Indeed last night was really lovely. I had my first intimate experience with my mates and my wolf is back.

“O I am sure it was.” Jane teasingly said.

“What are you trying to say?”. I asked her wanting to know the reason behind the smile she was giving me.


“Nothing at all,” Jane said and I glared at her.

“Okay fine! What I am trying to say is that I am very sure your night was lovely. I mean sleeping in the middle of two hot alpha males, it must be the best night of your life.” Jane explained, causing me to blush. I wonder what makes her think that I slept with the Alphas.

“Who told you that? I slept alone in my bed last night.” I said with a straight face.

“Yeah right!”. Jane rolled her eyes.

“I am telling you the truth.” I defended myself.


“That’s not what your neck says”. Jane fired at me.

“What do you mean? I cluelessly asked. Jane dragged me to a nearby mirror and that was when I understood what she was talking about. No wonder the Gamma had a glitter in his eyes when we spoke and also the secret smiles the maids were giving me.
