Chapter twelve
Rose POV
My heart bled as I watched Sophia eat her food. Whether anyone likes it or not, she has a very strong spirit. I don’t think she herself realized that. Because for her to still be strong after everything she went through it was not easy.
Poor child, She is so young. Only eighteen years old but she has passed through what a hundred-year-old has not experienced in his lifetime. I wipe the tears that are about to drop from my eyes.
I sat and looked at her trying to act as if she was okay even though she and I knew that was not the truth.
Just then, the atmosphere changes and there is a strong tension in the air. I looked towards the door and saw the two Alpha’s making their way in. Well here comes trouble. I thought in my mind.
“Alphas!” I stood up and bowed my head as I greeted them.
“Doctor Rose, how are you?”. Alpha Xavier greeted me back while Alpha Xiao just nodded his head. I expected that from him since he does not like to talk most of the time. But whenever he does, he makes sense and he is also a man of principles and hardly changes his words
“How is she?”. Xavier asked me after a minute and we all turned around and saw that Sophia had stopped eating and was now sitting at the edge of the bed with her knees touching her cheeks and her hands around her legs. Poor child!.
I signal for the Alpha’s to go out so we can talk.
“Well, I must say that because of the bad things she has experienced these past few days, and then her wolf closing herself from the world, She is currently traumatized and needs to see a therapist or she will fall into a deep depression,” I explained to them.
“Okay if that is the case, I will send for the pack’s therapist to come and check up on her.” Alpha Xiao talked for the first time since we started talking.
“Okay Alphas but I would like to make a small request if you wouldn’t mind,” I said in a low voice. It is actually quite intimidating to stand before an Alpha and here I am standing and conversing with two. My heart keeps beating irregularly. I can’t wait for the whole conversation to end.
“Speak up!”. Alpha Xiao commanded.
“Well if you don't mind. Please give her some space and don’t approach her until she minds it at peace”. I said with my head bowed waiting for their response.
They both growled at the same time; “why on earth should we do that? She needs us to be present in her life right now more than ever”.
“I know that Alpha but look at it from her point of view. She has passed through a lot and needs to heal or she will fall into a deep depression. Your present will be too much for her to handle”. I explained to them. I silently prayed to the moon goddess to bestow them with understanding.
Xavier wanted to protest before Xiao held his hands; “ she actually has a point. I think we should allow Sophia first to heal herself so that it won’t be as if we are forcing her to make a choice she is not ready to make. I know it’s going to be hard to stay away but we need to do this for our own peace of mind and hers also”. Alpha Xiao explained to his twin brother. I always knew that he was more mature when it came to understanding and mental reasoning.
“Okay, then we will do as you wish!”. Alpha Xavier agreed with many difficulties. I felt sorry then sincerely. After the death of their parents at the age of sixteen, they were forced to grow up immediately and took responsibility for a whole pack on their shoulders. After much hard work, they were able to transform it into the second-best pack after the Royal pack. Secondly, they waited for their mate for eight good years and now that they have finally found her, all this is happening. I just hope they have a happy ending.
“We will send for the therapist right now. But first let’s say goodbye to our mate”. Alpha Xavier said and we all went back into the room and saw Sophia still sitting down at that exact position she was before we went out. Both of the Alphas walked up to her while I stood at the door.
“I know that one first meeting was terrible. O! How I wish that I could go back to that time and take back what I said to you. Believe me, it was not my intention and am deeply sorry for how I reacted that day. I just want you to know that I will never reject you for any reason at all. I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me.” Alpha Xiao said to Sophia sounding genuinely remorseful.
“That’s right! We have waited so long to find and now that we did, nothing is going to make us reject you. We understand that you have passed through a lot and you need time for yourself so that you can heal. We will give you enough space as much as you need. But whenever you are ready, always know that we will be waiting for you with open arms”. Alpha Xavier also said and they both stood up and went out of the room.
I didn't realize that I was crying until a tear ran down my cheek. “Dearest moon goddess, please give them a happy ending. They have all passed through a lot and deserve to be happy.” I silently prayed to the moon goddess before I walked up to the bed and hugged Sophia who had started crying as soon as her mates left the room.
