Chapter 876 Father-Daughter Interaction
Theodore hung up the phone and looked at himself in the mirror again. Suddenly, he felt a surge of resentment. He was at home taking care of the kids, while she was out entangled with Evan.
He turned on the faucet, bent over slightly, and cupped his hands to catch the water, slowly washing away the handprint on his face.
Outside the door, Noomi, who had been sleeping soundly on the cushion, woke up. She looked down and saw that her pant leg was wet and cold.
She had wet her pants. Noomi quickly got up and ran to the bathroom in a panic.
Theodore finished washing his face and walked out, only to have something soft bump into his arms. He looked down and saw Noomi, who had fallen to the ground due to the rebound.
She was stunned for two seconds, then suddenly burst into tears.
Theodore was at a loss for two seconds. He quickly bent down to pick her up, but Noomi cried and resisted, saying, "No, no."
Theodore thought she had hurt her tailbone. Seeing Noomi's tear-streaked face, he hurriedly said, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. Did you get hurt?"
Noomi didn't want Theodore to touch her because she had wet her pants and felt embarrassed.
She hadn't wet her pants in a long time.
Noomi shyly avoided his outstretched hand, tightly covering her small pockets with both hands, afraid that Theodore would find out she had wet her pants.
Theodore didn't understand at first, but he quickly saw the wet spot on the floor and realized she had wet her pants.
He was taken aback but couldn't help but want to laugh.
However, knowing how strong Noomi's self-esteem was, he held back his laughter, fearing she wouldn't talk to him for a long time if he laughed.
"It's okay. I wet my pants when I was little too. It's normal. How about I help you change your clothes?"
Noomi looked at him in surprise, "Theodore wet his pants too?"
"Of course. It's something that happens to everyone when they're kids, so there's no need to feel ashamed. Come on, I'll help you change your clothes." Theodore extended his hand.
Noomi hesitated for a moment but eventually placed her hand in his palm.
Theodore pulled her up and took her to the master bedroom. To be honest, he had never changed a child's pants before. Holding Noomi's pants, he looked at her, not knowing where to start.
In this situation, it would be more appropriate to call Evelyn to change Noomi's pants, as he wasn't Noomi's biological father.
Thinking of this made Theodore feel even more upset.
"Noomi, can you change your pants by yourself?" Theodore asked.
Noomi shook her head. Theodore sighed, lifted her onto his lap, closed his eyes, and removed her wet pants. He then fumbled to put on her dry pants before opening his eyes.
"Alright, if you need to go to the bathroom later, just call me, and I'll take you, okay?"
Having made a mistake, Noomi nodded obediently.
Theodore patted her head gently and said in a warm tone, "Go play now. I'll wash your pants. This will be our little secret."
Noomi immediately brightened up and said sweetly, "Uncle Theodore, I really like you."
Theodore, pleased by her words, took her pants to the bathroom to wash them while Noomi happily went to find her brothers to play with.
The topic #Evan's Girlfriend# on Facebook was quickly taken down, but Phoebe still found out. After parting ways with Evan at the airport, she and Lori each headed to their destinations.
When she arrived at the set, she was unaware of the news headlines until an actor jokingly asked her why Evan hadn't come with her to visit the set.
Phoebe was puzzled at first. Lori tugged at her sleeve and whispered, "Ms. Ziegler, you and Evan were photographed on the plane earlier. It made the news headlines, and some fans recognized you, saying you two are dating."
Phoebe frowned, her first thought being whether Theodore had seen the headlines and if he would misunderstand her relationship with Evan.
"Have the headlines been taken down?"
"They have. Evan's team probably took them down quickly, but there are still many comments from Evan's fans on your Facebook. You should avoid checking Facebook for the next couple of days," Lori advised.
Evan's fans, agitated by the news, had flooded Phoebe's Facebook with comments. Some even resorted to insulting her.
Phoebe rarely logged into Facebook, or she would have noticed the commotion earlier. Her face darkened, "Call the PR department and have them handle this quickly to minimize the impact."
Being in the headlines at this time was not a good thing.
Especially being in the headlines with Evan. His fans were known to be fanatical, as she had already witnessed at the airport.
If they were targeted by his fans, who knew what kind of trouble could arise?
Lori nodded and went to call the PR department. The others quietly observed Phoebe's expression, knowing well what was going on.
Recently, Edward from the Vanderbilt family had proposed to Phoebe publicly, only to be rejected. Before that, there were rumors of her being involved with her company's actor, Noah.
However, none of these compared to the surprise of Phoebe and Evan supposedly dating.
After all, Evan was notoriously hard to pursue in the entertainment industry. He had never been involved in any scandals with actresses, and if there were any rumors, he would promptly clarify, often leaving actresses who tried to ride on his fame embarrassed.
Yet, over an hour had passed since the headlines about Evan and Phoebe, and Evan's team had neither taken down the news nor issued a statement.
This led people to joke with Phoebe, trying to gauge if they were really dating.
Seeing Phoebe's displeased expression, everyone had their own thoughts, wondering if they were hiding their relationship or if it was just a coincidence that they were photographed together, leading to the headlines. If they were dating, the pressure from fans might force them to break up.
Phoebe didn't want to guess what others were thinking. She walked to the makeup room, feeling heavy-hearted. Wesley was still getting his makeup touched up.
He was scrolling through Facebook and saw the rumors about Phoebe and Evan. Seeing fans insulting Phoebe, he switched to a secondary account to argue with them.
He was in the middle of a heated argument when he noticed someone entering the room. He glanced over and saw Phoebe walking in, causing him to drop his phone in surprise.
Phoebe walked over, picked up the phone, and saw Wesley arguing with people online. She couldn't help but smile, "You don't need to worry about these things. Besides, I haven't done anything wrong, so their insults don't bother me."
Wesley's handsome face turned red, "Ms. Ziegler, I-I just can't stand it. Why are they insulting you like this? Evan is great, but you're just as good. In fact, I think he's not good enough for you."
Phoebe glanced at the makeup artist nearby. She couldn't help but ruffle Wesley's hair, "Don't say such things. People will laugh at us if they hear."
Wesley was indignant, "I'm not talking nonsense. His fans are so harsh. Who would dare to date Evan? It's not like we don't have other options."
Phoebe saw that he was getting more and more out of line, "Alright, I'm not dating Evan. We just happened to meet at the airport and took the same flight. We went our separate ways after leaving the airport."
She explained wearily, thinking that with the situation on Facebook, no matter how much she explained, it wouldn't clear things up. She wondered what Theodore would think if he saw the headlines.
