Chapter 901 Jealousy and Rivalry
Sandra's flirty tone hit Lawton like a bad omen. He noticed Theodore's glance and quickly stepped back. "Mr. Reynolds, I didn't invite Ms. Ramirez. She called me after hearing the airport announcement."
Theodore pulled his arm away, giving Lawton a brief, icy look. "Ms. Ramirez, did you forget what I told you?"
Sandra tried to grab his arm again, but Theodore dodged her touch. She pouted, clearly annoyed.
"I didn't forget, but Theodore, you were my first. I can't forget you. I tried to move on for two months, but my feelings only got stronger. I can't live without you."
Theodore smirked. "Is it me you can't live without, or the Reynolds family's money?"
Sandra's face turned red with anger. "Theodore, how can you doubt my feelings? Of course, I can't live without you."
"Enough," Theodore said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Sandra, whatever you're up to, I already have someone I love. I don't want her to get the wrong idea. Don't show up in front of me again."
Sandra clenched her teeth. Normally, anyone who treated her like this would be out of her life in a heartbeat.
But Theodore was different.
Tears welled up in her eyes. "Theodore, I don't ask for much. Just don't treat me like this. If you're worried about Phoebe, I can get along with her. I won't cause trouble."
Lawton, standing nearby, thought Theodore was lucky. Even a proud woman like Sandra was willing to share him.
If it were him, he might not be able to refuse either. After all, what guy doesn't like being surrounded by beautiful women?
Theodore let out a cold laugh, not even bothering to respond, and turned to leave.
Sandra had gone through a lot to catch him at the airport. She wasn't about to let him go so easily. She jogged to catch up.
"Theodore, if it's hard to explain to Ms. Ziegler, I'll do it. I won't let you be in a tough spot."
The three of them walked out of the airport. Outside, Phoebe was leaning against a Maybach. When she saw Theodore, she straightened up and waved, only to notice Sandra trailing behind him.
Her hand froze mid-air, unsure if Sandra was there to pick him up or if they had traveled together. Considering his cold responses over the past few days, her hand slowly dropped, and the joy on her face faded.
Theodore spotted her immediately and strode over, his gaze fixed on her. "Why are you here?"
Phoebe glanced at Sandra behind him, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "What a coincidence, Mr. Reynolds. I seem to have interrupted something. If I had known, I wouldn't have come."
She opened the car door to get in, but Theodore grabbed her wrist. "Jealous?"
Phoebe almost fell into his arms. Seeing his smiling face, she glared at him. "Jealous of what? I don't care."
Hearing her tone, Theodore's mood, which had been gloomy for days, suddenly brightened. He leaned down and whispered in her ear, "Phoebe, I love it when you're jealous. It's adorable!"
Phoebe's ears turned red. She tried to push him away, but Theodore held her wrist, making it impossible to move.
Sandra, standing behind Theodore, watched their intimate interaction with burning jealousy. She said coldly, "Ms. Ziegler, what a coincidence. You're here to pick him up, too."
Phoebe remembered the nasty things Sandra had said at the Golden Harvest Diner and naturally didn't have a friendly expression. "Ms. Ramirez is here too."
Sandra forced a smile. "Theodore's been away for days. I missed him so much, I had to come to the airport. Looks like Ms. Ziegler feels the same."
Phoebe thought, "Who feels the same as you? I'm here to pick him up as his girlfriend. What right do you have?" She said, "Now that you've seen him, you can leave. Theodore, get in the car."
Phoebe opened the back door. Theodore glanced at her and wisely bent down to get in. Sandra tried to follow, but Phoebe blocked her.
She stared at Sandra. "Ms. Ramirez, you might not know, but Theodore and I are back together. Please respect yourself and stop bothering a man who has a girlfriend."
Sandra bit her lip and looked past the car door at Theodore, who didn't even spare her a glance.
Furious, she glared at Phoebe. "Ms. Ziegler, my feelings for Theodore are genuine. I'm not here to compete with you. Why treat me like an enemy?"
If Phoebe hadn't experienced Sandra's sharp tongue before, she might have believed her current vulnerable act. She said, "Ms. Ramirez, as a daughter of a prestigious family, you should consider whether your actions bring shame to your family. I've said all I need to. Goodbye."
Phoebe turned and sat next to Theodore, closing the car door.
Lawton quickly loaded the luggage into the trunk and got into the driver's seat, driving away.
Sandra watched the silver-gray Maybach disappear into the distance, her face twisted with anger. She clenched her fists. "Phoebe, I'll repay this humiliation tenfold."
In the car, Phoebe sneezed loudly. Seeing Theodore look over, she coughed lightly and, glancing at Lawton focused on driving, lowered her voice to complain, "Why are you so popular?"
First, there was Vanessa, who chased him like a madwoman, and now Sandra. He never seemed to lack women around him.
Theodore chuckled and, mimicking her lowered voice, said, "Ms. Ziegler, you're quite popular yourself."
Phoebe was speechless.
Realizing they were in the same boat, Phoebe wisely changed the subject. "So, were you very busy on this trip?"
Theodore didn't respond, but Lawton, from the front, said, "Mr. Reynolds was extremely busy. He compressed a five-day trip into three just to get back to see Ms. Ziegler."
Theodore's secret was out, and he wasn't pleased. "Mind your own business!"
Lawton immediately shut up. He had hoped to make up for not informing Theodore about Sandra's airport visit.
Phoebe leaned closer to Theodore, smiling. "Really? Then I won't hold it against you for not replying to my messages. I thought you were mad at me."
Theodore snorted. "Why would I be mad at you? What did you do to make me angry?"
"Nothing," Phoebe thought. Even if there was something, she wouldn't admit it. Theodore had a temper and might leave on another trip if he got upset.
She wrapped her arms around his, trying to please him. "Hubert, Boris, and Noomi miss you every day. I was away for a few days, and they didn't miss me this much."
Theodore's expression softened. "And you?"
Phoebe's face froze for a moment before she said, "Of course, I missed you. Unlike some people who forget about me as soon as they leave."
