Chapter 953 She Chose to Ignore Them

Phoebe was floored.

She never expected Theodore to show up at her office with a bouquet of red roses.

No wonder Lori had that gossipy look on her face earlier.

She teased, "What's with the flowers?"

Theodore grinned, pushing the bouquet into her arms and wrapping his other arm around her waist, pulling her inside the office.

In her daze, her back pressed against the door.

Theodore leaned in, crushing the roses between them, and kissed her deeply.

The scent of the roses filled the air as he kissed her with intense passion.

The rose petals couldn't withstand the pressure and scattered all over the floor.

When the kiss ended, Phoebe's legs were so weak she could barely stand.

She held the flowers in one hand and clung to Theodore with the other, breathing heavily with her mouth slightly open.

Her face was flushed, and her eyes were misty with tears, making her look pitiful yet endearing.

Theodore looked down at her, his heart filled with affection. He gently pecked her lips.

"That look makes me want to ravish you."

Phoebe's hand on his waist instinctively tightened, sending a shiver through Theodore's body.

"Are you doing this on purpose?" Theodore's voice was hoarse.

Phoebe regained her composure and looked down at the scattered rose petals. "Such beautiful flowers, and you ruined them."

Theodore chuckled, "Do you like them?"

"Yes." No woman can resist flowers, and she was no exception.

Theodore lightly tapped her nose. "No wonder you ignored me before. You thought I didn't bring enough flowers."

Phoebe glared at him and walked towards her desk with the flowers. "That's not the reason."

"Then what is it?" Theodore followed closely behind.

Phoebe placed the flowers on the desk, remembering why she had avoided Theodore before.

It was because of Hubert, Boris, and Noomi.

But mentioning it now would ruin the mood.

"It's nothing," she said lightly.

Theodore studied her expression and noticed her lack of enthusiasm.

He spoke softly, "What's wrong? I heard arguing from the conference room earlier. Is that what's bothering you?"

Phoebe was taken aback. "No."

The arguments were intense, but they were about the company's future and interests. Although she sometimes found it annoying, it didn't affect her deeply.

The only things that truly affected her were her family and Theodore.

Theodore nodded. "Alright, if you're upset, just tell me. I'll go and scold them for you."

Phoebe laughed and rubbed her forehead. "Company decisions can't be solved by scolding. They need to be reasoned out."

Theodore walked over, lightly leaning against the desk, and looked at her. "I just want you to know that no matter what you want to do, I'll be your strongest support. Go ahead and do it, okay?"

Phoebe smiled and nodded. "I know. I have some work to finish. Why don't you sit on the couch for a bit? I'll be done soon."

"Okay."

Theodore kissed the top of her head and walked over to the couch.

He didn't have anything urgent to do and was anxious about the report, so he took out his phone to play a game.

He kept the sound off to avoid disturbing Phoebe, but he lost the game right away, which didn't seem like a good sign.

Theodore frowned and glanced over at the desk.

Phoebe was engrossed in her computer, her face softly lit by the screen.

He watched her for a bit, then opened a chat with Lawton.

Theodore: [Is the report ready yet?]

Lawton replied almost instantly: [Mr. Reynolds, the results will be out by 8 AM tomorrow at the latest. Don't worry, I'll keep an eye on it and send you a photo as soon as it's ready.]

Theodore read the message and felt like rushing to the lab to ask what was taking so long.

How could a report take this long?

But impatience wouldn't help.

Even though he was sure the person in his room that night was Phoebe, he needed the final confirmation.

"Let's go." Phoebe's voice suddenly broke his thoughts, and Theodore almost dropped his phone.

He instinctively turned off the screen and hurriedly put the phone in his coat pocket, standing up. "You finished?"

Phoebe silently watched his flustered reaction and said calmly, "Yes, let's go home."

As they walked out, Theodore realized he had overreacted.

He had only been chatting with Lawton, but his behavior made it seem like he was hiding something.

Phoebe grabbed her bag and wrapped a scarf around her neck, her movements slow and deliberate.

She wondered if Theodore's hurried action to hide his phone meant he was hiding something from her.

Being secretive in a relationship only drained the feelings between them. Why bother?

She lowered her eyes, contemplating her thoughts.

She wanted to say something, but couldn't find the right moment.

They had worked hard to reconcile, and she didn't want to ruin their progress.

Despite her many questions, she chose to ignore them.

Theodore gripped his phone tightly in his coat pocket, looking at Phoebe's profile. He wanted to explain, but held back.

Just wait.

Wait until the results come out tomorrow morning. Then he could reveal everything, and she would be happy.

They walked out of the company, each lost in their thoughts, and got into the car.

Phoebe looked out the window.

The weather was getting colder, and frost had formed on the glass, casting mottled shadows inside.

The next moment, her hand was enveloped by a warm, strong hand.

Phoebe turned to look at Theodore, who was gazing at her. "What are you thinking about?"

Phoebe shook her head. "Nothing, just tired."

"Then rest on my shoulder for a bit. I'll wake you when we get home." Theodore leaned slightly towards her, making it more comfortable for her to rest.

Phoebe gently leaned on his shoulder and closed her eyes, breathing in the fresh scent of mint. "Did you change your cologne?"

She remembered that when she first came back, he had a distinct scent, sweet and sophisticated, creating a strong sense of distance.

Theodore responded, "I switched back. You like the mint scent, right? I thought you wouldn't notice."

Phoebe hadn't noticed before, but tonight she was more sensitive and picked up on the change.

"By the way, how did you meet Sandra?" She suddenly asked.

Theodore's nerves instantly tightened.

Phoebe felt him stiffen and slowly lifted her head from his shoulder, staring at him. "What, you can't tell me?"
