Chapter 913 Edward's Malicious Intentions

Wherever Vanessa went, she felt people whispering about her.

They would stop talking as soon as she approached, but their eyes were filled with contempt and disdain.

Vanessa fumed, with Finnegan trailing behind her.

Ever since his role was replaced, he hadn't landed a single gig.

Seeing his career on the brink of collapse, he was desperate.

He sought out Madison and finally managed to snag an invitation to this party with Vanessa.

Seeing so many big-name directors and high-end brand executives, he was eager to find a benefactor to save himself.

During this time, he realized that following Madison led nowhere.

With Queen Entertainment in its current state, wasting more time on her would only drag him down.

"Hey, Ms. Fitzroy, I see someone I know. I'll be right back," Finnegan said, not waiting for Vanessa's agreement before slipping away.

Vanessa glared at his back, watching him chat up a wealthy woman she recognized as the wife of a brand executive.

The couple attended these parties together, with the husband picking actresses and the wife picking actors.

She felt both disgusted and impressed by Finnegan's ability to network.

After all, in the entertainment industry, who was truly innocent?

Mary introduced Phoebe to many people, including top directors and intermediaries with strong fashion connections.

Despite their low-key attire, the guests at this party were anything but ordinary.

Phoebe chatted confidently, leaving a good impression.

She drank a lot of red wine, and even though it was low in alcohol, she felt a bit dizzy.

She told Mary and Cindy she needed a break and headed to the restroom.

However, the second-floor restroom was under maintenance. She frowned and went up to the third floor.

After washing her face, she felt much clearer. She decided to wait until the alcohol wore off before going back downstairs.

Leaning on the railing, she admired the stunning crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling like a waterfall.

Looking down, she saw the oval-shaped second-floor corridor.

In just a few minutes, she saw several couples leave the party and start kissing passionately before finding a more private spot.

Phoebe was amazed.

Parties like this were breeding grounds for affairs.

She shook her head and turned to leave, only to find a man standing behind her.

Their eyes met, and Phoebe frowned, trying to walk past him.

The next second, he grabbed her wrist.

Edward's voice was filled with pain. "Phoebe, are you cutting ties with me?"

Phoebe tried to pull her hand away, but couldn't.

She glared at Edward, "Edward, do you want me to list all the despicable things you've done?"

Edward looked at her in agony, "Who pushed me to that point? Phoebe, you can't be so heartless. We promised to grow old together, but you broke that vow and married someone else."

Phoebe closed her eyes, not wanting to argue, "Edward, I have nothing to say to you. Let go!"

Edward pulled her into his arms, holding her tightly. "Phoebe, I loved you so much, I couldn't bear to touch you. Then you got together with Theodore. Do you know what I regret the most?"

Phoebe realized what he was about to say and became furious. "Edward, let go of me. For the sake of our last bit of dignity, don't do something we'll both regret."

"Regret?" Edward's voice was harsh. "My biggest mistake was saving your first time for our wedding night, only for Theodore to take advantage."

Phoebe snapped, "Edward, shut up!"

Edward sneered, "I won't. Tonight, I'll have you, and we'll see how much Theodore loves you when he finds out you cheated."

With that, he leaned in to kiss her.

Phoebe smelled the alcohol on him and struggled, biting her lip to keep him away.

Edward didn't insist and bit her neck instead, leaving a bloody mark.

Phoebe couldn't believe Edward would do this. She slapped him hard, making him stagger back.

Edward's cheek burned, and he glared at her, about to approach, when a cold voice interrupted.

"Mr. Vanderbilt, that's enough!"

Phoebe looked up to see a tall figure emerge from the shadows.

It was Patrick who stepped between them, shielding her.

Edward sneered at Patrick, "I thought it was someone important. Just Theodore's lackey. What, Theodore's not here, so you have to meddle?"

Patrick looked at the disheveled Edward and mocked, "I've played many unrequited roles, but I've never seen someone as shameless as you, Mr. Vanderbilt."

Edward's expression changed. "If it weren't for Theodore taking advantage, Phoebe and I wouldn't be here."

"Taking advantage? You broke up three months before they got together. Don't act like the victim. Weren't you the one who let go first?"

Edward was too angry to speak.

Phoebe held her aching neck, feeling like Edward had tried to sever her artery. She never imagined he hated her so much.

She closed her eyes, "Mr. Winston, there's no point arguing with him. Let's go."

Patrick saw her holding her neck and draped his coat over her shoulders, "I'll take you home, so he doesn't bother you again."

Phoebe didn't look at Edward again, letting Patrick escort her to the elevator.

Edward's eyes were cold, like a venomous snake, watching them leave.

He wiped the blood from his lips and looked into the shadows.

Soon, someone with a camera approached, "Mr. Vanderbilt, I got it all. Want to see the footage?"

Edward took the camera and reviewed the photos.

Each one, due to the angle, looked like they were having an affair.

He narrowed his eyes, "Print these out and send them to the Reynolds Group tomorrow. Let Mr. Reynolds see."

The man glanced at Edward's sinister face and felt a chill, quickly nodding, "Okay, I'll send them first thing tomorrow. No delays."

Edward smiled darkly.

He bet Phoebe wouldn't tell Theodore about the bite mark on her neck. She'd hide it, not letting him know.
