Chapter 909 If You Disagree, Bite Her

Ethan was bawling his eyes out, looking pitifully at Phoebe. "Phoebe, I don't wanna move. I wanna stay with Hubert, Boris, and Noomi."

Phoebe walked over, grabbed a tissue, and wiped his tears. "Look at you, your face is all red from crying. We're not moving, I can't bear to leave either."

Ethan climbed into Phoebe's arms, sobbing uncontrollably.

Phoebe comforted him for a while until he finally cried himself to sleep. She got up to put him back in bed, only to find Ethan clinging tightly to her clothes.

She sighed, "It's clear he doesn't want to move to Donovan's house."

Ruby sighed too. "Mom thinks Ethan should move in with Donovan to build a bond, but he's so resistant..."

"How about you take him there during the day and let him sleep at home at night? Once he gets used to it, you can move in. Mom's idea is good, but since Ethan is so against it, don't force him. When he gets closer to Donovan, he won't want to leave." Phoebe suggested.

Ruby nodded, "That's what I was thinking too."

Phoebe gently removed Ethan's hand from her clothes, but the sleeping child started to stir. She laughed, "Looks like he's attached to me today. I'll take him to my room to sleep."

Ruby's eyes widened. "Is there enough room? Isn't Mr. Reynolds in your room?"

Phoebe blushed, thinking about Theodore sleeping in her room. Ruby must have noticed. She quickly said, "We just slept, nothing happened."

The room fell silent for a few seconds.

Ruby said, "I don't want to know the details."

"We didn't..." Phoebe started to explain, but stopped herself. She picked up Ethan, "I'll take him to my room. You get some rest."

Ruby couldn't help but laugh as she saw them to the door. Watching Phoebe carry Ethan to her room, she closed the door and looked at the empty bed, feeling a bit lost.

She hadn't expected Ethan to be so against Donovan.

Phoebe carried Ethan back to her room. Theodore was leaning against the bed, the dim light casting a handsome shadow on his face.

He looked at the child in her arms and raised an eyebrow. "Why'd you bring him here?"

His tone was displeased.

Phoebe climbed onto the bed, placing Ethan next to Hubert, Boris, and Noomi, and covered him with a blanket. This time, Ethan didn't grab her clothes.

She smiled, "He's a smart kid."

Theodore stared at her. Phoebe sat next to him and yawned, "He wouldn't let go of my clothes, so I had to bring him here."

"Where am I supposed to sleep then?" Theodore pulled her into his arms, asking fiercely.

Theodore's hot breath brushed against Phoebe's cheek, carrying a sense of pressure. She wasn't afraid, and she laughed lightly, "How about you sleep on the floor?"

"Dream on." Theodore lowered his head and kissed her lightly on the lips, then lay down, pulling Phoebe to lie on top of him. "Just sleep like this."

Theodore's firm muscles made Phoebe uncomfortable. She squirmed a bit, and a large hand wrapped around her waist, holding her tightly.

"Stop moving, or you'll start a fire."

Phoebe's face turned red instantly. She didn't dare move anymore and mumbled against his chest, "Let me down. Neither of us will sleep like this."

"No way. If we can't sleep, we'll do something else." Theodore's voice carried a hint of threat.

Phoebe knew he wasn't just bluffing. Some people were already on fire. She had no choice but to stay put, yawning, "I'm so tired. Let's just sleep."

Theodore chuckled softly, and Phoebe felt his chest vibrating. Then she heard his teasing voice, "Coward."

Phoebe grumbled. She was a coward, so what? Bite her if you don't like it.

The next morning, Phoebe woke up to find Theodore already gone. She stretched and looked at Hubert, Boris, Noomi, and Ethan beside her.

After a night, their sleeping positions were all over the place, but they looked adorable.

She got up, went to the bathroom to freshen up, and opened the curtains. She saw Theodore running through the gate in his workout clothes, drenched in sweat, looking incredibly attractive.

Phoebe couldn't help but whistle at him. Theodore seemed to sense it and stopped, looking up at her. Their eyes met, and Phoebe's face turned red.

She felt like a flirt.

She quickly retreated, changed her clothes in the closet, and went out, seeing Theodore wiping his hair with a towel in the hallway.

She smiled, "Up early for a run, Mr. Reynolds. Full of energy."

Theodore's gaze was deep as he looked at her, smiling darkly, "Yeah, too much energy. If I don't vent, some people might not be able to handle it."

Phoebe was speechless.

She couldn't compete with Theodore in shamelessness.

"You're all sweaty. Go take a shower, preferably a cold one, to clear your mind of those dirty thoughts." Phoebe said, then ran downstairs.

Theodore watched her back, a smile tugging at his lips. She was feeling smug now, but when he finally exploded, let's see if she could handle it!

After breakfast, Evelyn told Phoebe about helping Ruby move her things to Donovan's house. Phoebe said, "Ethan doesn't want to move. He cried last night."

"I heard. Let him play there during the day. He'll get used to it. Kids adapt quickly." Evelyn said casually.

Phoebe wanted to say something, but swallowed her words.

She called Lori, asking her to lead the morning meeting. She would go to the office in the afternoon. Lori assured her that she would send the meeting minutes afterward.

After hanging up, Phoebe went to help Ruby pack.

Ruby didn't have much luggage, just some clothes Phoebe had bought for her after she moved in. She leaned against the wardrobe. "You should buy more clothes when you have time."

Ruby shook her head, "I don't care about these things. It's fine. Besides, you bought me a lot, and some still have tags."

"Before Donovan came back, you didn't care about dressing up. But now you should pay more attention. Donovan is the company boss, and many pretty women are after him."

Ruby knew Phoebe was right and nodded, "Okay."

Donovan hadn't slept well all night, thinking about Ruby and Ethan moving into his house. He couldn't calm down.

He had seen Ethan in photos before. The child had his eyes but Ruby's face shape. Last night, he hadn't had a chance to look at him closely.

Thinking about Ethan being his son and living with him, his heart warmed. He got up and searched online for toys for two-year-olds.

He bought a bunch of random stuff and lay down just as the sun rose. Unable to sleep, he got up and went downstairs to wait.
