Chapter 877 Turmoil in the Film Crew

Phoebe's visit to the set was full of unexpected events. It was unclear whether it was a coincidence or someone did it on purpose, but just a few hours after she arrived, Vanessa also came to visit with her entourage.

It seemed that Vanessa had found out in advance what they had prepared for the visit. The afternoon tea Vanessa brought was made by a famous chef from a well-known hotel in Suncrest City.

The snacks were exquisite, made with various expensive ingredients that were shockingly luxurious.

In comparison, the food Phoebe brought seemed quite ordinary.

Phoebe didn't get upset about being overshadowed by Vanessa, but Lori was indignant, "What does Vanessa mean by this? If we didn't come to visit, they wouldn't either. But as soon as we come, they follow like rats smelling cheese and bring such high-end afternoon tea, clearly trying to outshine you."

Phoebe was worried about Theodore seeing the news headlines and suspecting that her business trip was actually a "rendezvous" with Evan. She was anxious, wondering whether to send a text to explain.

But she and Evan were innocent. If she sent a message to explain, it would seem like she had a guilty conscience.

Hearing Lori's words, she said, "It's nothing. The entertainment industry is like this. Everyone wants to make a splash. The first to arrive always loses out. It's okay; it's the thought that counts."

"What thought? I just went out for a walk and heard a lot of rumors." Lori was frustrated. Vanessa was clearly there to make trouble for them.

Phoebe didn't want to hear the rumors, but Lori couldn't keep her mouth shut.

"They said our afternoon tea was shabby compared to Queen Entertainment's. It's outrageous." Lori got angrier as she spoke.

If they had come to visit on different days, they wouldn't be looked down upon like this.

She even wanted to pay out of her own pocket to order afternoon tea from that big hotel to embarrass Vanessa, but she wasn't that extravagant.

Phoebe propped her chin and said, "Such things are common in the entertainment industry. If you get angry every time, you'll be furious all the time."

Lori stomped her foot in anger, "Ms. Ziegler, I just can't stand her always trying to outshine you."

"Even if she shows off, the crew benefits. They've worked hard and deserve such a reward. It's okay, she has money, we won't stoop to her level." Phoebe was indeed open-minded and didn't want to compete with Vanessa over this matter.

She came to visit with her good intentions, and as long as her intentions were clear, it didn't matter what others said behind her back. She couldn't control their words, so let them talk.

But even if she didn't care, someone else did.

Wesley naturally thought highly of Phoebe and couldn't stand others badmouthing her, especially Finnegan from Queen Entertainment.

Finnegan had almost been kicked out of the crew due to Queen Entertainment's scandalous photos. He had been keeping a low profile, trying to reduce his presence.

But once Queen Entertainment regained its power and moved its office to a prime location opposite the TV station, he straightened his back again.

The crew members, who tended to flatter the powerful, no longer made things difficult for Finnegan, seeing that Queen Entertainment had influential backing.

Finnegan, knowing that Vanessa's afternoon tea was luxurious and overshadowed Superstar Entertainment, felt triumphant.

He spoke arrogantly to vent his frustration from the past days.

That afternoon, he had a scene with Wesley. While waiting under the shade, Finnegan mocked Wesley.

"Ms. Ziegler claims to care about you, but she only brought such cheap food for the visit. Clearly, she doesn't value you much. Why don't you terminate your contract with Superstar Entertainment and join our company?"

Wesley rolled his eyes. "Our Ms. Ziegler is always practical, unlike some people whose company is on the verge of bankruptcy but still put on a brave front. The more they lack, the more they want to show off."

Wesley, usually quiet, never lost when it came to retorts, often hitting the nail on the head.

Finnegan's face turned pale with anger. Wesley's mockery targeted not only Queen Entertainment but also Finnegan himself.

Finnegan, from a poor family, liked to present himself as a wealthy young master. However, his fans had exposed that his jewelry and clothes were second-hand, which was quite embarrassing.

"Wesley, what are you so proud of? In the end, you only got the role of Nicholas by seducing Ms. Ziegler. Why pretend to be noble in front of me?"

Wesley respected Phoebe, despite their close age. When he heard Finnegan slandering both of them, he couldn't stay silent and immediately retorted.

"Some people get roles through sexual favors and think everyone else is as useless as they are. It's truly laughable."

Wesley's words left Finnegan with no dignity. Enraged, Finnegan attacked Wesley.

Wesley, who had been working out in the gym and learning boxing and martial arts for his role, easily overpowered the weak Finnegan. Unable to fight back, Finnegan resorted to scratching Wesley's face, a tactic often used by women in fights.

Hearing the commotion, Hank rushed over with people to break up the fight. It was difficult to intervene without getting hurt, but eventually, a few strong crew members managed to separate them.

Phoebe arrived upon hearing the news and heard Hank scolding loudly from a distance. As she got closer, she saw the injured Wesley.

Wesley knew that hitting someone's face would affect the filming schedule, so he avoided Finnegan's face during the fight.

However, Finnegan wasn't as considerate. He resented Wesley's handsome face, believing it was the reason Wesley got the role of Nicholas. He had been holding a grudge for a long time and wanted to scratch Wesley's face.

Now, he finally had the chance and didn't hold back.

So, when Phoebe saw Wesley's scratched face, she was shocked. She looked at Finnegan, knowing that men usually fought with fists and kicks, not scratching faces. Finnegan's tactic was disgraceful.

Hank, even while on set, heard about the happenings in Kedora, especially the investors' private lives, which had spread to the crew.

He knew Theodore had moved into Phoebe's house, and they would eventually reconcile, so it was unwise to offend Phoebe.

Just as Phoebe arrived, Vanessa also showed up with her entourage.

Before Phoebe could speak, Vanessa spoke first, seemingly oblivious to Wesley's scratched face. She exclaimed, "Finnegan, what happened? Who dared to hit you? Do they think Queen Entertainment is powerless now and don't respect us anymore?"
