Chapter 112. A Silent Miscarriage

A week ago, before she heard the news that Aunty Milla was being investigated in the police station, she went to see the gynecologist with Daniel.
In the hospital, Doctor Mia informed her that the baby in her womb was a girl.
However, Sienna didn’t know if she would feel excited or not to hear that. She simply didn’t expect to have a baby with Daniel.
And a week later, she tried to live as a good housewife at home. She was feeling pretty tired all the time. Her body felt heavier each day. The pain gnawed her from the inside.
But she didn’t want to stay quiet. She didn’t want to live uselessly. She already felt annoyed that Daniel didn’t allow her to open her flower shop. And Cora had been sending her a bunch of text messages, asking if she was feeling fine.
This was all just too much for her to bear alone. She really wanted to do something while she was staying in Daniel’s penthouse.
Therefore, on Monday, she forced herself to work in the kitchen and the dining room. She had been cleaning the rooms alone. She just wanted to do the chore as a wife.
After she had cleaned up everything, she was ready to cook something yummy. She tried to cook the new recipes she learned from Daniel’s mother. It was the Italian creamy pasta.
Daniel was very busied working privately in his study room upstairs, and thus, she ate alone at the dining table. And Daniel had told her that he wouldn’t go back to the office until the following month. He said he wanted to take care of her. And he really did though.
After her stomach felt full, she cleaned up the plate.
Afterward, she walked upstairs. But in the middle of the way when she was stepping her feet on the staircase, her head felt fuzzy suddenly. She didn’t know what was going on, but her head just kept spinning. The headache felt terrible.
She tried to hold on to the staircase’s railing, but she lost the balance.
She screamed out of pain when she fell from the staircase. Her body got rolled down until she hit the cold floor.
When her sight felt blurry and heavy, she saw Daniel walking downstairs. He looked shocked when seeing her body laid down weakly on the floor.
“Da… Daniel… it’s hurt,” Sienna muttered while resting her hand at her forehead.
He came running toward her as he shouted out worriedly, “Sienna! Oh, God! What happened to you?”
“Help me… it’s hurt… I can’t move my body,” Sienna said while feeling the terrible pain on her back.
“Oh, God, no! The baby…” Daniel muttered as his eyes were staring at her stomach.
She narrowed her eyebrows for a moment to contemplate what he was saying. Then she just realized what Daniel meant.
Soon after, she was panicking. “Oh, no… Daniel… will I lose the baby?”
Daniel caressed her head softly. He looked a little bit terrified when she asked that.
“No, we can’t lose the baby,” Daniel muttered anxiously.
Sienna was about to cry. “Daniel, I’m afraid…”
“Shush… Baby, shush…” Daniel tried to comfort her. “I have to bring you to the hospital. We have to tell Doctor Mia as soon as possible.”
Sienna nodded. “Daniel, please, help me… I’m in pain right now.”
“Baby, hold on to me,” he whispered as he immediately brought her in his arms.
And soon, while bringing her closely in his arms, Daniel ran toward the garage and got her into his black sedan car.

Daniel was very worried about her condition at the time. He looked enormously terrified for whatever that Doctor Mia would tell him after the examination.
And he hoped, of course, for Sienna and the baby to be safe.
But when Doctor Mia came to see him with a bitter look on her face, Daniel felt nervous.
“How is it, Doctor?” Daniel asked worriedly.
He slightly glanced at Sienna that was sleeping on the patient’s bed in Doctor Mia’s office.
“Daniel…” she paused and held her breath for a second.
“Please, Doctor, tell me that my wife and our baby are alright,” Daniel muttered.
Doctor Mia sighed heavily as she slightly stared down at her shoes. And then she stared back at him cautiously, “Mister Daniel Wilson, I’m very sorry to inform you that your wife is seriously injured. She lost the baby.”
Daniel gawked in great astonishment the moment he heard that. “What? Doctor Mia, please… Is there anything you can do to save them both? I love them, please…”
Doctor Mia caressed his shoulder gently and said, “I’m very sorry, Mister Wilson. There is nothing I can do. Your wife experienced the silent miscarriage after she fell from the staircase.”
Daniel looked so weak. He lost hope. He was tremendously sad to hear this bad news.
And suddenly, Sienna woke up. “Daniel…”
He immediately approached her and took her hand in his grasp. “Yes, baby?”
“What does Doctor Mia say?” She asked.
Daniel stared gawkily at her. “Baby, it’s…”
And then Doctor Mia approached them closer. “Ms. Wilson, I am very sorry for your loss.”
Sienna pinched her eyes at the doctor. She didn’t understand at first until she looked at how sad Daniel at the time.
“Don’t tell me… the fetus… I mean, my baby,” she was stammering when talking.
Doctor Mia nodded weakly at her. “Your baby died when you fell. You have just experienced a silent miscarriage.”
Sienna flinched. She was hugely surprised by what the doctor just said.
Although Sienna despised the feeling of having Daniel’s baby in her womb, the moment she heard that she lost the baby, she felt numb. It was like something being taken away painfully from her. She felt the grieve.
And although she really despised Daniel and she still wanted to get a divorce, after the baby died suddenly, she wanted to cry.
Doctor Mia tried to calm her, “Ms. Wilson, there is still hope in the future to have a baby again. I wish you all for the best.”
This time, she was terribly crying. She just lost her baby. She lost something that was once alive inside of her body. And it felt like a cold pain. It was killing her from the inside.
Afterward, Doctor Mia gave her some medicines to ease her pain.

Daniel had been trying to comfort her as they went back home. But Sienna couldn’t stop crying. She was so sad to lose her baby.
“Oh, God, I shouldn’t work too much! I should have just laid down on the bed and watch TV or do something boring in the bedroom,” Sienna muttered emotionally.
Once they entered the foyer, Daniel bulged his eyes out when she said the first sentence. And then he snapped back, “What did you say? God, Sienna, who told you to work too much? And what were you doing back then, huh?”
Sienna stared back peevishly at him. Then she shouted back, “Well, I didn’t want to feel useless! I wanted to do something good! And I thought cleaning and cooking in your kitchen was a good idea after all!”
Daniel pinched his eyes in disbelief at her. “Seriously, who told you to clean up the kitchen and the dining room?”
Sienna immediately barked out at his face, “No one! It was my idea! Because I got bored in the bedroom, doing nothing. And you didn’t even let me open my flower shop!”
“I told you not to work because I care for your condition!” Daniel shouted back in rage.
Sienna took a deep breath for a second. Then she snapped back, “I hate you!”
Daniel flinched when Sienna suddenly cursed on him.
“Baby, please don’t make this so hard,” Daniel begged her. He softened his voice this time.
Sienna crossed her arms defensively against him. She was really in a bad mood to argue further with him. She already felt a bad headache.
And then Daniel stepped closer to her. For a moment, he caressed her cheeks softly. He also didn’t want to fight with her.
“I love you, Baby. I want what the best for you,” Daniel whispered to her.
Sienna stared back quietly at him.
“Maybe destiny said otherwise. Maybe it’s not the perfect time for us to have a baby,” Daniel said gently to her.
“Yeah, maybe because we are not prepared to have a baby yet,” Sienna murmured.
Afterward, Daniel hugged her in his arms. Sienna embraced him in return. They were quiet for a while.
“I promise you, we can make a baby again,” he whispered, and then he kissed her temple.
But then she pushed him away, making Daniel bewildered.
Soon, she said firmly, “I don’t want to. Maybe it’s better that you divorce me, Daniel.”
“Divorce? Are you crazy? Why would I divorce you?” Daniel snapped peevishly.
And simply, Sienna told him, “Because I think we are not meant for each other.”
