Chapter 63. Visiting Sienna

A week later, Jonathan visited Sienna at her house. He had been missing her so much. He was not able to visit her back then because Aunty Milla forbade him. He felt annoyed actually, but he didn’t dare to disobey what Aunty Milla said since he wanted to earn her respect.
He had been worrying about her wellbeing those days. He could only send her text messages and sometimes he called her on the phone to check on her.
In the afternoon that day, he brought a pretty lavender bouquet and a yummy fruit cake for Sienna.
He knocked on the front door and he hit the doorbell. Less in a minute, Estelle was the one that opened the door for him. She looked surprised when he came by.
“Jonathan?” She looked at him while grinning cheerfully.
He waved his hand at her and said, “Hey, I’m here to see Sienna. How’s she holding up?”
Estelle answered him, “She’s been well. Come in…”
Afterward, he stepped his foot inside the house as Estelle welcomed him nicely.
He looked well warily when his eyes explored the situation around the house. He was nervous whenever he imagined he would come across with Aunty Milla here.
“Ugh, is your mom at home?” Jonathan wondered.
Estelle smiled and said, “Yeah, she’s in the bathroom now, taking a shower.”
As she welcomed him to sit down at the dining table, they both went there together. Then Estelle immediately shouted out loud to notify Sienna that her boyfriend came.
Soon, Estelle said to him, “Do you want me to make you a coffee while you’re waiting for Sienna to come downstairs?”
Jonathan glanced at her, “Yeah, sure,” and then he quickly added, “No sugar, please.”
“Coming right up, Sir,” Estelle said wittily as she took out a yellow cup from a cabinet.
About ten minutes after Estelle served his coffee at the dining table, Sienna came downstairs. She had just done taken a shower and changed into a blue blouse and black pants.
“Jonathan!” Sienna shouted out surprisingly. “You didn’t tell me you’ll come.”
Jonathan immediately rubbed his head awkwardly. His eyes glanced around the room again to see if Aunty Milla would appear in any minute.
Once Sienna sat down with them at the dining table, and then she asked, “How are you?”
Jonathan giggled. “I should be the one who asks you that.”
And then he quickly handed over the lavender bouquet and the fruit cake to Sienna.
“Here are my little gifts for you. I hope you get better in time, Honey,” he said caringly.
Estelle secretly giggled between them. “Oh, look at these lovebirds,” then she glanced at her cousin and whispered, “Isn’t he romantic?”
Sienna nodded agreeably. “Yes, Jonathan can be a romantic man,” then she stared back at him and said, “Thank you, Honey.”
Estelle helped to bring a knife, a spoon, and a plate for Sienna. While slicing the fruit cake, Sienna was listening to what he said. And Estelle also glanced at him as she sat at the table.
“So, I’d like to tell you that I’m planning to resign from the Wilson Enterprises,” Jonathan finally told them.
Sienna and Estelle exchanged a glance at each other. They looked restless about it.
Sienna stared back at him and said, “Jonathan, I think you should reconsider about it.”
Jonathan narrowed his eyebrows at her. “I’m cool about this.”
“Besides it’s your dream job, but we should think that you are doing it at the right time,” Sienna told him carefully.
Estelle immediately nodded to agree. “Yeah, considering your boss kidnapped Sienna the last time, I think it’s better to make the right move. We don’t want to piss off a mafia gangster.”
Sienna nodded as well. “Daniel could be suspicious of you.”
“Well, Daniel just returned from vacation yesterday,” he informed them. “And at the same time, everyone in the office is invited to attend a business party in the city. It will be held by Finance World Magazine tomorrow on Saturday evening.”
“Are you coming?” Estelle wondered.
Jonathan shrugged his shoulder. “Well, I was wondering if I should go or not. But everyone in the office will be there.”
“Then you should go,” Sienna encouraged him. “I’ll be with you.”
Estelle and Jonathan immediately stared at her, surprised.
“Cuz, you can’t be there…” Estelle reminded her.
“Ugh, but I don’t think you want to be in the middle of the Wilson Enterprises people,” Jonathan muttered. “What if you came across with Daniel? Isn’t that a bad idea?”
“We’re going to show him that there’s nothing wrong, and hoping he would just let us go,” Sienna convinced him.
“You’re weird, Cuz,” Estelle muttered. “What if he doesn’t take the hint and just wants to pick a fight with you two? Didn’t you remember about the mysterious letter that we received last week?”
Jonathan blinked, confused. “What’s the mysterious letter? Did I miss something?”
Sienna rolled her eyes, annoyed.
“Come on, Cuz! I got the feeling it was from him,” Estelle confronted her.
Sienna paused to think for a second. She didn’t want to hide it from Jonathan anyway. Thereafter, she immediately took the black envelope that she kept inside the table drawer in the living room. And then she approached them at the dining table again.
“Here you go. See it for yourself,” Sienna said as she opened the black envelope and showed him the folded white paper.
As soon as he held the paper in his hand, he opened it to see the bold ink handwriting that was written with words;
***You’ve been warned. This is a warning letter. Come and surrender yourself. And please, enjoy this tasty premium white wine that we bought specially for you.***
“Well, this is certainly creepy, huh?” Jonathan muttered in disbelief. “And do you think this is Daniel who sent you the letter? And where is the wine?”
“We don’t dare to drink the wine. We just put it there in the living room with its box,” Estelle said as her chin nodded at the room behind him.
He slightly followed her nod to see the dimmed living room behind him. And when he glanced at them again, he sighed. “Well, I’m confused.”
And then the three of them went quiet for a second.
When Aunty Milla just walked out of the bedroom, she looked surprised to see Jonathan already sat down nicely with Estelle and Sienna.
She approached them in the dining room. Then she said, “What’s up, everyone?”
Estelle immediately shouted out to tell her, “Ugh, Sienna will be accompanying Jonathan to attend tomorrow’s business party. He said it’s the Fish World what…”
“It’s not Fish World,” Jonathan corrected her, while Sienna instantly giggled.
Aunty Milla looked at them, bewildered.
Then Jonathan told her, “It’s the annual business party by Financial World Magazine.”
“I used to work there,” Aunty Milla murmured. “I also got an invitation yesterday.”
“So, what, Mom? Are you going to attend a business reunion with your ex-coworkers there?” Estelle wondered.
“Well, it’s been a long time. I think it will be a good idea to see them again,” Aunty Milla said happily. “And what about your boss’s company? Is everyone invited as well?”
Jonathan nodded. “Ugh, yeah. But I’m actually hesitating to go, but Sienna said…”
“Yeah, I said we should go together,” Sienna snapped.
“You should be careful, Sienna,” and then Aunty Milla glanced at Estelle, “What do you say, Estelle? Do you want to accompany me there?”
“If you all go to the same place tomorrow, then I’ll be coming too,” Estelle half-smiled.
Aunty Milla clapped her hands and shouted out, “Great, then we should prepare ourselves tomorrow evening.”

The following day, Sienna dressed in a sleeveless ocean blue satin that she borrowed from Estelle. It was a long dress that showed her curvy body. She was ready to go and show the world that she was fine.
When she walked downstairs, she saw Aunty Milla dressed in a black lace dress while Estelle dressed in a green lace dress. They both were wearing masks.
Sienna immediately wondered, “Why are you wearing masks? Is there any particular dress code to attend the party?”
“Didn’t your boyfriend tell you?” Aunty Milla muttered.
It was the right time when Jonathan arrived with a yellow cab taxi outside their house. And then he went to pick her up. Jonathan forgot to tell her that the dress code was an opera theme. Before she was panicking because she didn’t have a mask, he gave her a black butterfly mask that he bought from a Halloween store. He also wore the same mask.
Thereafter, Jonathan had called for two taxis. They would go in a separate car.

As soon as the car arrived in front of the terrace building of the Finance World Magazine, they immediately got out of the taxis.
For a second, Sienna stared up at the high tower of this place. And it was pretty crowded. A lot of people came to attend the annual celebration party.
“Come on, Honey, let’s go inside,” Jonathan said as soon as she paid the taxi and closed the car door.
Soon, she nodded and walked inside with him and the others.
