Chapter 78. Family Call

After Daniel had taken a shower, he demanded Sienna to take a shower too. He would be making Sienna breakfast as he promised.
As soon as Daniel walked out of the door, Sienna was left alone in the bedroom. She tried to take a deep breath as she tried to calm herself for a while.
She actually felt panicking to be stuck in this big house with him. She really did want to go home and check on her family.
She walked back and forth in the room while crossing her arms. Sometimes, she rubbed her chin while thinking deeply about her future plan.
She wanted to run away. And the moment she thought of running away, she felt déjà vu. She had done this before when Daniel kidnapped her in Canada. And she felt speechless the moment she just remembered about it again.
“Gosh, this has been the most terrible thing that happening in my life!” Sienna muttered peevishly as she messed up her hair.
And then she walked to the glass window. For a moment, she looked at the bright view outside. She could see Manhattan from up here.
And then her eyes caught her reflection on the standing mirror beside her. She was still wearing the black lingerie. The more she looked at her reflection wearing that lingerie, she felt disgusted with herself.
She hurriedly wanted to take it off from her body. She had to throw it away as far as she could. She felt the creeps by the sight of that lingerie.
But then she just realized how stupid she was. She would be naked if she took it off. And Daniel could walk into the bedroom at any second.
“Damn it!” She cursed on it. “I hate this lingerie! And I hate this place!”
She thought she would be happy when the memories returned inside her head. But instead, she felt the goosebumps all over her skin whenever she remembered the nightmare that happened nine years ago.
The accident that almost killed her on the boat left so much wound inside of her heart. She was involved in such a nightmare because of marrying Daniel. And if she didn’t fall in love with him in the first place and got married to him, she would have been having a peaceful life with Jonathan this time.
But everything was not always occurred according to what she wanted. The universe didn’t let her own way in life. She had to face the fate that came to her.
And that fate was meeting with Daniel all over again.
But if she didn’t lose her memories about him, she wouldn’t know that Daniel was such an arrogant egomaniac person and a bossy control freak. And this time, she was stuck with him.
She was too tired to fight him off. She thought she had made it by offering him what he wanted last night. But it was not enough. She had to make more effort to survive this situation.
Thereafter, she turned to walk into the bathroom. But when she was just about to reach out the handheld door, her phone was ringing loudly.
She immediately took her phone out from her sling bag. When she checked on it, her eyes popped out widely. Estelle was calling her phone number.
Without a second thought, she hurriedly answered the phone call, “Hello! Estelle!”
*“Sienna, how are you today? Is Cora’s place awesome? Let me know…”* She asked curiously.
“Hey, I’m… fine here, Estelle,” Sienna slightly stole a glance at the bedroom door. “Yeah, it’s awesome. Cora’s place is just fine. I’m doing well here. How about you and Aunty Milla?”
*“My mom’s doing just as usual. She’s been wondering how are you doing there, and…”* there was a pause before Estelle told her, *“So, your dad is about to return to New York next week, I was wondering if you can come home that day and we can pick him up in the airport together. What do you say?”*
“Oh, of course. I will definitely be coming to pick him up. He is my dad after all!” Sienna shouted out energetically. She didn’t want to sound hesitating. Estelle would be suspicious of her if she didn’t respond well.
Then Estelle said, *“Great, so, I will be waiting for you to come home soon. And we all will have a family reunion.”*
“Okay, see you soon, Estelle. I can’t wait to meet everyone,” Sienna murmured.
Afterward, they hang up on each other’s phone call.
And soon, Sienna went into the bathroom to take a shower and changed her clothes.

After Sienna had been staying for a few days in Daniel’s big penthouse in Manhattan, she suddenly regained her memories of marrying him in the past.
She was truly his wife. However, she was still acting like she didn’t remember at all.
She didn’t want Daniel to find out that she already regained her memories of him being her husband. She wanted to be careful. There were people she loved that she should protect. If she knew that Daniel was this crazy and obsessive-compulsive, she wouldn’t want to engage with him in the first place.
She was terrified to know that Daniel’s true color was as scary as the rumor said about him. That he was born in a Romanian mafia family.
He was different. He was not the person that she knew nine years ago. He was rough and devilish when he didn’t get what he wanted.
Therefore, her feeling had changed toward him. She didn’t feel the same sparkled as in their early married life before.
It was all started because of Daniel’s harsh attitude toward her. He always forced her. He didn’t want to be rejected. He had always won. He should always get what he wished for.
But some fraction memories sometimes hovered on her mind. There was a blurry vision when she was waking up in the hospital. She remembered the story that Aunt Milla told her when she just woke up from a severe acute comma.
And the only memory she remembered clearly was Aunty Milla saving her in the past. While she was losing her memories, her aunt just suddenly picked her up in the hospital and took good care of her.
And this time she had to live again with Daniel. She had returned to his arms. But she couldn’t feel the same love again toward him. Everything had changed and she knew it for sure.
On Sunday, when she was about to prepare her suitcase and went home quietly, she got a phone call from Estelle.
Her heart was beating nervously when she heard the news from her cousin. She didn’t expect it. But it happened anyway.
“Estelle, tell me clearly, please…” Sienna demanded her while speaking on the phone. “Are you saying the truth?”
*“Yes, I am! Your dad is not feeling well. He said he almost fainted while in the airplane,”* Estelle told her worriedly. *“I hope he will be fine when he arrived at the airport by tomorrow morning.”*
Sienna held her breath and muttered restlessly, “Oh, my God.”
*“Didn’t I tell you to come home soon?”* Estelle admonished her. *“What have you been doing in Cora’s place, huh?”*
Sienna tried to find a reason to convince her, “Ugh, I’m sorry, it’s a girl thing. Holiday break and stupid gossip all going on. I almost forget about my duty as a daughter.”
Estelle immediately shouted out peevishly to her, *“Gosh, Sienna! You have to come home soon! My mom is annoyed at you! She will think that you’re abandoning your father…”*
“I know, I know, I’m sorry, my bad,” Sienna apologized to her. She felt really bad that she couldn’t be honest with her about the circumstance she had here. She just couldn’t tell Estelle that she was actually not staying in Cora’s place but Daniel’s big house here in Manhattan.
*“You should be here today, Sienna!”* Estelle admonished her once again on the phone.
Sienna sighed heavily and shouted back, “I will! I am preparing my suitcase now! Please don’t give me a headache by keep yelling at me!”
*“Okay, good. I will be waiting for you here at home with my mom,”* Estelle told her. *“We should be preparing ourselves for tomorrow. Your dad needs you!”*
“I know, Estelle. I’m mature enough to know about my obligation!” Sienna muttered.
After they hang up each other’s phone call, Sienna immediately threw out all her clothes into her suitcase.
At the time, Daniel was not in the bedroom with her. That man seemed busy these days. He had been working in his office room. And sometimes, some guests came to meet him in the living room.
Just when she closed her suitcase and dragged it with her, the bedroom door was opened.
Her eyes bulged out at the doorsill, where Daniel was just entering the room.
On the other side, he was watching her for a second, surprised. And then he asked her firmly, “Where do you think you are going, Sienna?”
She gulped down her saliva anxiously when she got caught by him. She was planning to sneak out from his penthouse. But he was already standing there, watching her carefully with his fiery brown eyes.
