Chapter 86. Ex-Boyfriend’s Farewell
When Daniel came into the bedroom, Sienna pretended like she had been staring out at the glass window. She tried to be careful around him. She didn’t want to wake the angry lion. She knew it wouldn’t be any good if he knew she was talking to her aunt. Especially asking about the truth of her memories.
“Baby, what are you doing?” His voice sounded yearning for her.
As she turned to look at him, she smiled widely. “Daniel…”
“I miss you,” and just like what she had predicted. He would say that.
As Daniel approached her and hugged her waist, Sienna murmured, “Daniel, can I go home today?”
He immediately froze when she asked that. Thereafter, he let go of his embrace to look at her face solemnly and said, “No, you can’t.”
Sienna took a deep breath and tried to beg him, “Please, Daniel, I really miss opening my flower shop again. It takes place in the garage at my family’s home.”
Daniel was still staring silently at him. but his expression clearly showed that he didn’t approve of her going away.
“And there’s my dad at home. We’ve been separated for too long,” Sienna reminded her.
Daniel shouted back, “And so we are.”
Sienna pinched her eyes at him, bewildered.
“Yeah, you heard me, Baby. We’ve been separated for nine years. I can’t just let you go,” Daniel reminded her firmly.
“Please, Daniel, just let me go home and open my flower shop,” Sienna begged him again.
For a moment, Daniel backed away from her. He leaned down at the window as his eyes gazed out at the bright view out there in the city.
“Please, Baby…” Sienna tried to look like an innocent girl, begging for candy.
When Daniel saw how seducing her expression, he quickly kissed her lips and smiled.
“And, so?” Sienna smiled back.
Daniel finally nodded to agree. And then he said, “Alright, just today. I let you go.”
Sienna was very happy to hear that. “Oh, thank you so much, Daniel!”
“Can you promise me not to run away again from me?” Daniel begged her.
Sienna instantly chuckled out. “Oh, come on, Daniel! After I have regained my memories that you are my husband and you still think of me that why?”
Daniel raised his eyebrows at her and nodded his chin for a second.
Sienna immediately rolled her eyes and snapped out, “I promise! I will not run away!”
“And I want you to call me Baby again,” he demanded her.
Sienna sighed and giggled. “Okay, Baby. I promise.”
And then he went to embrace her and tickled her, making her laughed out loud.
***
As Sienna arrived at home, she quickly greeted everyone. Her dad and Estelle were having breakfast in the dining room when she came home.
She was happy that they enjoyed life when she was away. At least, she didn’t have to worry about their wellbeing. And she had not seen her aunt yet.
Afterward, she called Cora to offer her a part-time job at her flower shop.
Cora came around eleven a.m. to help her arranging flowers for some customers. At the time, Cora asked her about casual things like; how are you? how have you been holding up? And Sienna answered her casually as well.
When Jonathan suddenly appeared at her flower shop, Sienna got surprised.
“Oh, Jonathan!” Sienna exclaimed out.
Cora stole a glance at that man wearing eyeglasses and a school teacher uniform.
Jonathan looked anxious when she came to greet them both. “Hi, guys…”
Sienna immediately approached him and said, “Jonathan, about us…”
He smiled awkwardly when Sienna was about to bring up the topic. “Yeah, about us, I actually want to talk about that with you. What a coincidence, you are home.”
Sienna nodded gawkily at him and said, “Yeah, I was not at home yesterday. I was…”
“Where were you?” Jonathan wondered. But his eyes looked at her suspiciously.
Sienna immediately turned to glance at Cora, who exchanged a quiet stare with her.
Then Sienna turned to see Jonathan again and said, “Well, I was at Cora’s place.”
When Jonathan glanced at Cora, she gave him a friendly nod and smiled.
Thankfully, Cora helped her out in this. Sienna didn’t have to avoid his simple question.
And then Jonathan asked her, “Well, Sienna, can we talk privately now? Just the two of us? Maybe you want to grab a coffee with me?”
“Ugh, actually…” Sienna rubbed he neck awkwardly. And then she said, “Can we just talk here? I’m just opening my flower shop. I can’t just leave Cora to handle my customers alone.”
Jonathan nodded. “Ah, right, so…”
Sienna licked her dry lips and shouted back, “I know. You want an explanation from me.”
“Yeah, I do. But I really want us to get back again,” Jonathan begged her. “I really want to make a family together with you…”
The moment Jonathan said the last words, Cora instantly glanced at them curiously.
Sienna pretended to clear her throat and blinked fast. She felt too awkward to have this adult talk with Jonathan. She felt a huge dilemma since she had regained her memories about Daniel being her legitimate husband. And how could she manage Jonathan’s feeling this time?
She didn’t want to be selfish. She was not this selfish person. She wanted to explain what was right for her relationship with Jonathan.
And therefore, she said, “Jonathan, I like you, a lot…”
He smiled widely when she admitted that.
But she had not finished talking yet. He had already felt the butterfly on his stomach. She just didn’t want to disappoint him more. She didn’t want to sweet-talking him. She wanted to give him the reality of life.
“But, Jo, I like you as a friend,” Sienna finally confessed.
“What?” Jonathan looked at her in huge disbelief.
Sienna nodded and said, “I have been thinking about our relationship these days. I think it’s best for us to stay as a friend.”
“Why, Sienna? Tell me that you’re not seeing someone else,” Jonathan confronted her. “Are you cheating on me?”
Sienna immediately shook her head. “Oh, no! Absolutely no, Jonathan! I will never cheat on you, but my circumstance is now very complicated…”
“Please enlighten me. I want your truth. Don’t make me think strange about you,” Jonathan muttered.
However, Sienna could feel his disappointment almost immediately. This conversation was no good, but she had to finish it with him. She had to make him understood.
“Jo, I am not cheating on you at all. I swear to God,” Sienna said firmly. “And if you don’t believe me, Cora can tell you that I am not lying to you.”
Jonathan quickly glanced at Cora at the desk.
Cora immediately waved her hand at him. “Hi, Jo, what’s up?”
Jonathan waved back awkwardly at her. And then he turned to see Sienna again.
“Are you sure you’re going to ditch me like this, Sienna?” Jonathan asked disappointedly.
Sienna sighed heavily and said, “Jo, forgive me. I have changed my mind about you. We just can’t be together again. It’s going to be complicated…”
“Tell me why?” Jonathan confronted her.
“It’s because…” but she couldn’t bring up her husband's name to him. How could she even explain to him that she had been marrying a mafia? And that mafia was his ex-boss. This was all too awkward and uncomfortable.
“So, are we breaking up for real now?” Jonathan wondered.
“Jo, we broke up last week. I’m sorry,” Sienna reminded him.
Cora overheard their last conversation at the time. She witnessed when they broke up.
“Before I go, can you tell me your reason?” Jonathan still wanted to know the truth.
Sienna stole a glance at Cora. She was too scared to tell Jonathan about this one.
It was like Cora could read her mind. She immediately approached them in the yard.
“Hi, Jonathan, about Sienna…” she licked her lips nervously. Cora was also feeling on the edge to tell him the truth.
When Sienna nodded to give her the green light, Cora smiled sadly at her.
And finally, Sienna said it out all by herself, “I’m married.”
Jonathan instantly bulged out his eyes at her. “What did you say? When? You never told me…”
“That’s because I lost my memories for nine years,” Sienna told him bitterly. “And I have just regained my memories nowadays.”
“Yeah, and Sienna’s husband is Daniel Wilson,” Cora quickly told her.
Sienna bulged her eyes at Cora. She was surprised that Cora would say that carelessly.
And obviously, Jonathan almost got a heart attack when he heard that.
“Tell me this is not the truth,” Jonathan muttered.
Sienna sighed and said, “No, this is the truth. I know it’s weird. It’s strange for you. And so, it does for me.”
“You get married to Daniel Wilson? The owner of the Wilson Enterprises? And he was my ex-boss? This coincidence gives me goosebumps,” Jonathan muttered in disbelief.
“I know, it’s a lot to take in one time,” Sienna said sadly.
And then Cora added, “Sienna is saying the truth. And right now, she’s trying to make it up to Daniel.”
“That’s why he kidnapped you back then in Canada? That’s because you’re his wife?” Jonathan gathered the puzzles clearly.
Sienna nodded weakly at him, while Cora looked at her in huge surprise.
“What? Daniel kidnapped you?” Cora asked bafflingly.
“Yeah, maybe Sienna can spin a yarn for you, Cora,” Jonathan said bitterly. “I have to go now. I can’t deal with this. It’s been nice seeing you. But right now, goodbye.”
The moment he said his farewell, Sienna felt his deepest pain.
