Chapter 12. Cousins’ Conversation

“Cuz! Come here! There’s a little package for yaa!” Estelle was shouting out loud from downstairs.
While in the bedroom, Sienna was brushing her long hair. She was ignoring her cousin for a few minutes, making Estelle annoyed. She had just done taken a shower. When her eyes stared out at the clock, it was already eight a.m.
She was feeling nervous since Daniel sent her a text message. But really, what was the odd that might happen later? She kept thinking about the coincidence that might relate to her strange dream last night. How could Daniel suddenly ask her for another lunch time?

**Daniel Wilson:**
*Dear Miss Moss, my deep apologies to you and Mister Brown. I was in a rush to attend the important business meeting. I’d like to repay you for my rudeness for leaving abruptly yesterday. How about another round for a good lunch with you both?*

Sienna sighed after she read his message again. She tried to decide if accepting his offer would be a good thing for her and Jonathan. But of course, because Daniel was Jonathan’s boss, that would be a good opportunity to make a good relationship with him.
Eventually, it was all about the business and stuff. She was just so not into this. Jonathan was the one that dragged her into this encounter with Daniel again.
How could she say no? That would hurt Jonathan’s heart for sure. She knew Jonathan’s sensitive personality trait so well. He would get hurt, even at a little thing like seeing a kid cried at school. He was just such a nice guy with a heart made of gold.
Soon, she heard Estelle yelled out again from downstairs, “Cuz! Seriously! Come down here! This delivery man wants your damn autograph!”
Sienna narrowed her eyebrows bafflingly once her cousin said that.
She quickly put down the brush and walked downstairs to see what was going on. Once she went into the foyer, she saw Estelle was holding a small brown box. She stood there at the doorsill, while a delivery man was waiting impatiently.
That was the same guy who delivered her package that was sent by Daniel. What would he bring this time? Sienna immediately stared again at the package that Estelle held.
“Look at the time, Missy! I have more packages I need to deliver!” He muttered peevishly.
Sienna quickly came between them. She looked at the guy, uncomfortably. Then she said, “Oh, hey, sorry… here I am.”
“Please, sign the receiver paper here, Miss…” he slightly read the paper to find her name, “Sienna Moss.”
“Yup, that’s me,” Sienna shouted after. Then she quickly signed the paper for him. But before he left, she needed to know one thing, “Hey, sorry, but… my cousin is the one who received the package, you can just ask her to sign the paper.”
The delivery guy sighed as he fixed his blue hat. Then he said, “Well, the sender paid me good money to make sure you’re the one who received the package, Miss Moss.”
Sienna pinched her eyes bafflingly at him. “What? That’s so unusual.”
“What can I say? I’m just doing my job,” he grinned and waved her goodbye. She couldn’t ask him for the next question since he seemed in a rush.
Once he left the terrace house, Sienna turned to see Estelle. That young girl was still holding the small box.
“What’s that? From who?” Sienna was deliberately curious to know.
Estelle immediately took a look at the paper that attached to the box. Then she read it out loud, “Here says from…” but then her eyes popped out widely. “Daniel Wilson?”
Sienna sighed heavily once she heard that name was being mentioned. She quickly took over the box from Estelle’s arm.
“Let’s see what does he send me now,” Sienna wondered as she tried to open the box.
“Wait… how… I mean,” Estelle looked hugely surprised. “How could he send you anything anyway? And he knows your home address, for God’s sake! That’s so unbelievable.”
Sienna paused for a second to stare wonderingly at her. “Why is it so unbelievable?”
“Well, because everybody knows who is Daniel Wilson on the internet! He is a famous billionaire. And you are a nobody to him!” Estelle suddenly sounded kind of sarcastic. She didn’t even pause to take a breath when talking to her. “But… I’m… I mean, I’m so confused. The last time we met him, we were just passing him in the photo studio. You were talking to his assistant, right? It’s not like you know him in person, right?”
Sienna chuckled, although she got bewildered why Estelle got so worked up about it.
“I just haven’t told you the entire story, gosh,” Sienna muttered, annoyed. “I’m not the one who knows him in person, by the way. He is Jonathan’s boss if you want to know.”
Estelle gawked for a second. She tried to process what Sienna just told her. Then she rested her hand at her waist and asked wonderingly again, “How come? Isn’t Jonathan a school teacher?”
“Sorry, Estelle… I haven’t told you everything, because my head is just so busied thinking how to earn more money to pay your bills and your mother’s bills,” Sienna said cynically in return.
Estelle quickly pouted and snapped back, “Well, what a good sarcasm, Cuz! You’re no fun.”
Sienna chuckled for a second. Then she glanced again at the box she was holding on. Once she opened the yellow ribbon that sealed the box, her eyes stared at the content.
“Sweet waffles again. As usual,” Sienna muttered. “He has been sending me three packages of these same waffles so far,” then she intentionally teased Estelle, “Isn’t he cute?”
Estelle rolled her eyes, annoyed. “Yeah, he is so cute. But you have a lot to tell me!”
Afterward, Sienna walked toward the dining room. Estelle followed her from behind. And she was being so impatient when Sienna didn’t explain to her.
“Hey, come on. You need to tell me, Sienna!” Estelle insisted.
“About that famous billionaire? Or about Jonathan’s new job in his office?” Sienna muttered emotionlessly while she was sitting at the dining table.
Estelle dragged the dining chair to sit in front of her. Then she shouted out energetically, “Yes, both! Just tell me everything from the start, please! This is so fricking interesting, Cuz!”
As if there was such a drama to be told. Sienna shook her head in disbelief. Then she chuckled cynically and muttered, “Yeah, what a story to tell, huh? You’re just so damn noisy, Estelle. Don’t you know that?”
“Please, come on…” Estelle was not patient enough to hear the story from her.
Sienna stole a glance back and forth in the house. She wanted to make sure that there were just the two of them in the room.
“By the way, where is your mom? I just don’t want her to hear me talking about this,” Sienna was being careful. “You know how annoying she will be.”
Estelle slightly glanced at the bedroom’s door near the family room. That was Aunty Milla’s bedroom. Then she quickly returned to see Sienna and to whisper, “My mom probably is still in the bathroom right now. Come on…”
Sienna’s heart pounded quickly when she was about to tell her.
Estelle assured her, “It’s okay, go on…”
“Okay, so…” Sienna took a deep breath for a second before she continued telling her. She was just being nervous about it. “So, it was all started when Jonathan told me that he wanted to have a double job like me.”
“Yeah, and we know, you are a florist by regular days and a local librarian by the weekend,” Estelle shouted after. They both giggled for a second.
Sienna spoke again, “Well, yeah, and then Jonathan told me he has been learning about the stock trading business. I thought it was good for him to learn something new, but…”
“What? You thought? So now you have changed your mind about his decision?” Estelle stared at her in disbelief. “God, Cuz! If that’s good for him, you can’t disallow him! You’re not his mother!”
“Shush! Lower your voice down!” Sienna admonished her as she slightly stole a glance at the bedroom’s door near the family room. “You have to promise me that Aunty Milla doesn’t know anything about this story.”
Estelle pinched her eyes at her, wondering.
Sienna whispered, “Because if Aunty Milla knows, Jonathan will be so embarrassed if he doesn’t get the stable job at his new workplace.”
“What do you mean?” Estelle was confused.
Sienna licked her dry lips as she informed her, “The place where Jonathan works, it’s in the Wilson Enterprises. So, Daniel Wilson said he gives Jonathan the chance, but it is on trial. If he cannot achieve the target to success, he will fail and he won’t get the stable position in there.”
“Oh, my God. And that means, Jonathan will leave his job as a school teacher forever if he successes,” the corner of her lips turned upward when she said that. Somehow, Estelle looked happy to know if Jonathan wouldn’t be a school teacher anymore.
Sienna shook her head, annoyed. “What is wrong with being a school teacher, huh? He is doing a great job. And working in Daniel’s office will be just for a momentary time. Well, I hope…”
“You’re so weird, Cuz,” Estelle muttered. “Isn’t it supposed to be great if your boyfriend can have a more stable income? You will need it as well once he gets married to you. I mean, think about the future when you have a baby with him.”
Sienna narrowed her eyebrows at her. “What are you trying to say, huh?”
“Listen, I’m not saying this to disregard Jonathan’s job as a teacher. But I’m talking about the reality here with you. Look at what your dad has been through once he lost everything financially,” Estelle reminded her.
Sienna stared down at the cup of coffee at the table. She was speechless.
“See? You can even defend your boyfriend anymore once I said this to you,” Estelle added. “Money is everything while you’re living in this world, Sienna. It’s not about being superficial, but we are being logical here.”
Sienna chuckled afterward, “Gosh, Estelle, you’re so funny. You can bark at me with your speech once you can earn a stable income by yourself. And what about your mother? She doesn’t do anything to cover up her last month’s bills. I did take care of everything for you both.”
Estelle sighed heavily and said, “Sorry about that. I promise I will pay you back once I work my arse out there.”
Sienna grinned. “So, the photographer calls you again?”
Estelle nodded and smiled cheerfully. “Yup, I will work again with him. This time I will earn more money than the first time. Well, he has promised me though.”
“Oh, good for you, Estelle,” Sienna smiled happily for her.
Afterward, Sienna’s phone buzzed. When she looked at the screen, Jonathan was the one who messaged her this time. She was expected to attend the invitation lunch with Mister Wilson.
Before she went upstairs to change her clothes, she stared at her cousin again. Sienna made sure that Estelle kept her promise in not telling Aunty Milla about their conversation earlier. And Estelle nodded agreeably.
