Chapter 47. The Love Confession (+18)

During the car trip, Sienna kept on pinching her eyes straight on the road. She was wondering where Daniel would bring her. He had not told her yet even she had asked him multiple times.
On the other side, she felt quite nervous. Although she had settled about what she wanted, the moment she sat beside him in his car, it was all gone. She suddenly felt a huge dilemma. She was not sure if she wanted to follow her heart or her ego about her decision this time.
She just needed to confess to him about one more thing. And she had to do it properly.
The summer holiday was just about to begin a week ahead. She was about to turn nineteen soon. And she didn’t know if she would make such the right decision by meeting him again. And she didn’t even know if she would want to agree about his love offer to her or not.
After he drove for an hour in Vancouver, he finally let Sienna knew where he brought her. As soon as the car passed the black iron gate, she stared up to see the big mansion in there.
“Wh… where is this?” Sienna asked bewilderingly. And then she glanced at him, and started to make an assumption, “Daniel! Are you bringing me to your parents’ house?”
Once he pulled the brake as he parked the car in front of the terrace, then he glanced at her and chuckled.
“Carmelia, relax…” he was amused seeing her innocent face looked panicked, “We have to talk about what you want first. Then we can arrange the meeting with our parents soon.”
The moment he said *our parents*, her heart pounded fast restlessly. She could meet his parents anytime, but she wouldn’t allow him to meet her parents.
Before Sienna could ask him further about this place, he quickly got out of his car. She watched him well warily as he opened the car door for her.
As she got out of the car, she asked him again, “Daniel, tell me… whose house is it?”
He chuckled again. Somehow, he looked amused with her simple question. And of course, she had no idea after all.
“Baby, welcome to my new house,” he grinned as he presented the house to her.
She narrowed her eyebrows at him, hugely surprised.
“Oh, my God, you bought this big house?” She almost forgot that Daniel was a rich man.
Then he thrusted his hands to her and said, “Come on, I want to show you inside.”
As soon as they entered the foyer, she saw the gold vintage sofa and a glass coffee table in the living room. But this place still liked vacant without much furniture displayed here.
“I just bought this mansion last month. Everything is still new,” he told her afterward. “There is no fancy furniture yet. I just moved my bed and wardrobe from my parents’ house.”
She immediately glanced at him to ask, “You’ve been living here for a month? Alone?”
He smiled at her and nodded. “Yes, and I feel kind of lonely.”
She chuckled when he intentionally teased her.
When she looked around again, there was nobody in this house. She wondered when he said lonely, he really meant he was truly living alone in this huge place.
“No maids? No Bodyguards?” She asked curiously.
“No, I’m living alone here,” he informed her. “I told my dad and my mom that I want to start my own life. It’s just time for me to have my own place.”
“That’s amazing. You can buy such a big house when you’re only twenty-three,” she was amazed by his successful gain at such a young age.
His eyes slightly stared down and looked around the room. He seemed a little bit shy when Sienna complimented him. And he took her compliment with a big heart.
And then he stared back at her. “Let’s go upstairs. I’d like to show you my bedroom.”
Sienna instantly bulged her eyes out at him. She was surprised when he bravely invited her to his bedroom when she just got here.
“Your… your bedroom?” She murmured while blinking fast. “I’d rather wait here if you want to go to change clothes or whatever…”
Daniel chuckled as he caressed her shoulder gently.
Sienna got shivered when he touched the upper of her shoulder. She instinctively brushed off his hand from her shoulder.
He understood her uneasy feeling about it. He quickly told her, “Carmelia, I won’t hurt you and I won’t do anything without your prior consent. I just want you to look around this mansion. I want you to feel at home with me.”
She took a deep breath, feeling relieved after he explained what he meant. And soon, she nodded agreeably to follow him upstairs.
As they walked toward the staircase, she gazed out observantly. This house was built with beige walls and cream marble floor tiles. The high ceiling above was engraved with the ornament design of pretty flowers.
After she followed him walking on the second floor, and then he got stopped in front of a wooden oak door.
He turned to see her for a second as he smiled. “This is my bedroom.”
Her heart pounded faster when he told her. And then she nodded agreeably to enter the bedroom after him.
As soon as she stepped foot in there, Sienna crossed her arms for a moment as her eyes observed the navy-blue wallpaper and the warm wooden floor tiles in his bedroom. There was a king-sized bed in the middle of the room, and there was a high-end table beside the bed. His big wooden closet was located oppositely from the wide glass window. This bedroom looked simple and comfortable.
“Your bedroom looks…” and then she glanced at him, who stood next to his bed, “nice.”
“Thank you,” he smiled.
And then she approached the window to peep how the view looked out there. Thereafter, she saw the bright view of the big city and the blue sky behind the window.
As she turned to see him again, he was still waiting for her to start the conversation.
And then she said, “Okay, we should talk about it now.”
He nodded as he sat on the edge of his comfy bed. She slightly glanced at the color of the bedsheet he had there, it was the mix of ocean blue and navy blue. It seemed his most favorite color was dark blue. She could tell by the dominant color he had in his personal space.
“So, what do you say? Will you accept my diamond ring?” He was being on the point when asking the question to her.
She slowly walked toward him. She was still standing across the bed as she told him, “I do want to accept your love offer, but…”
He pinched his eyes bewilderingly at her. “What’s wrong?”
She knew that he looked kind of worried and nervous to hear what she would say next. Even it felt hard to say it all, she got to tell him properly, “I do want to marry you, Daniel. But…”
And then she quickly took out the ring box from inside her brown sling bag. As she opened the box to show him the diamond ring was still safe inside, then she spoke, “I can’t accept this.”
“Why? Do you want the bigger one? The shiny one?” He suggested the idea. “Just tell me. I will immediately replace the ring for you.”
She blinked, panicking when he said that. “No! Please don’t! It’s not what I meant!”
He pinched his eyes again at her. “Then what is it exactly do you mean?”
“I have a big trouble of thinking how the future will be like if I marry you,” she had to fess up to make it easier. She already felt overwhelmed by lying to her family and him. “I mean, I can’t tell my family about your marriage proposal.”
He slightly shook his head and blinked. He didn’t understand why she said that. And then he asked, “Do you think your family will be disapproved of me? I want to know the reason why.”
She took a deep breath restlessly when he started to question her. As she stared back cautiously at him, then she tried to explain, “It’s just better off that we don’t tell my family. They may be afraid since there is a rumor in the air that your family is the Romanian mafias.”
He immediately paused while still staring up at her pretty face.
“Romanian mafias?” He chuckled mysteriously. “Where do they hear the rumor from?”
“It’s actually my dad, who told me…” she spoke carefully. “When I mentioned about attending your seminar three months ago, and then my dad told me that he kind of had a source to know about your family background,” she was intertwining with her fingers when she talked nervously. “He is a content writer, working for a small newspaper company in the city.”
“What else does he know? Did he also tell you that our family has been doing an illegal business in the black market nowadays?” He wondered.
She was hugely frightened of the way he stared at her. Even he didn’t raise his voice when talking, there was still something that made her sometimes afraid of looking into his sharp eyes.
“I’m sorry, Daniel,” she stared down at her own flat shoes, feeling kind of terrified.
Afterward, he raised from the bed to approach her closely. Then he took her palm hand to caress her softly and whispered, “Don’t be.”
Sienna stared back quietly at him.
“I kind of could imagine the scenario if your parents wouldn’t approve of me,” he murmured. “If they found out about my family background.”
She blinked fast. She felt flustered when he said that. Was it the truth about him then?
“Daniel, are you saying that you’re…” she muttered nervously.
“I still want to marry you, even our parents wouldn’t approve of our wedding,” he said.
Her eyes popped out. She didn’t expect him to say that.
“I want to live happily with you. I have been falling crazily in love with you. I would do anything you told me, Carmelia,” it was like he would also surrender his soul to her entirely.
His gaze at her looked so bewitching, she couldn’t say no.
“I won’t question further about your family. Marry me, please. Runaway with me,” he begged her with his manly voice.
“Daniel…” she stared up at him, being completely hypnotized by his charm. And then she whispered to him, “I love you. I want you too.”
He had been stealing a glance at her dewy lips.
In that second, he whispered back, “I fricking love you too, Baby.”
And then suddenly, his lips landed hot at hers. Her heart skipped a beat. She didn’t see it coming at all that she would have her first kiss here with him. And right in his bedroom.
It was like he had been craving to touch her. He never did, until that day after they both confessed their love to each other.
He sucked her dewy lips harder each time. And he was pulling her body closer in his arms. She slightly moaned for the pleasure he gave to her.
As he let go of his lips from hers, then he whispered, “Marry me, Baby.”
She was breathless. She blinked numbly when seeing his handsome face closely.
And soon, she nodded fast. “Yes, please, Daniel.”
