Chapter 92. The Mega Dinner

Sienna was feeling on the edge about having dinner after-party with Nolan. And it was his idea though. He forced Daniel to treat him to an expensive dinner in the best restaurant in New York.
Nevertheless, they ended up visiting the restaurant where Daniel used to invite Sienna for dating him privately.
Her heart trembled nervously when Daniel intentionally brought Nolan to this mega restaurant. What was he thinking at the time? Did Daniel still feel the jealousy?
Sienna thought it was too much if Daniel did this only to give Nolan a bold reminder. This seemed like childish behavior.
As Daniel helped to drag her chair, he quickly kissed her cheek as she sat down.
Sienna got surprised by his action each second. Daniel was being a jealous prick was not such a good idea at all.
Sienna knew that Nolan was watching Daniel’s attitude against him. This was no fun. Daniel could have been better than that to compete with someone way younger than him.
As soon as Daniel sat down between them at the dining table, the waitress came bringing three books of the menu.
Sienna had been coming to this restaurant in the past. She still remembered the food and beverage cost pretty expensive for her personal wallet.
While reading the menu, Daniel said, “Baby, you should eat Wagyu Steak. You look too skinny. You need more beef.”
Sienna glanced peevishly at him. She was half pinching her eyes at him.
When Nolan stared at her, she could only smile awkwardly.
“Then I’d like the same menu as for her,” Nolan shouted out to the waitress.
Daniel bulged his eyes at Nolan for a second. There was obviously a competition here, but Sienna tried to ignore their childish behavior. This was supposed to be a good dinner with the gentleman, not with the kids.
As soon as the waitress left with their order, Daniel leaned closer to the table and stared at Nolan again.
“So, Wagyu Steak for three, huh?” Daniel muttered in disbelief.
Nolan chuckled out. “Well, yeah, I want to eat what Sienna will eat. And you also chose the same menu in the end, Boss.”
“First, I am not your boss, and second, you are my cousin. You can have anything you want. It’s my treat tonight,” Daniel murmured.
Nolan smiled widely as if he just won a big lottery from Daniel.
And then suddenly, Daniel’s phone was ringing loudly. He had to excuse himself to answer the phone call. As soon as he raised from the chair and left them, Nolan stared at Sienna. He looked friendly and nice to her.
“Sienna Wilson, huh?” He murmured. “So, we’re actually a relative now, right?”
Sienna chuckled shyly. “Well, yeah, technically, you can call me your relative.”
“When I first met you, I almost thought that you were unmarried and young and lonely,” he teased her.
Sienna chuckled again. “Huh, pathetic, but does my face imply those all criteria inside your head?”
“Pardon me, I don’t try to sound rude or anything, Ms. Wilson, I was just stating my infamous opinion to the beauty like you,” he teased her again, but at the same time admiring her.
Sienna tucked her hair behind her ear shyly. Then she stared back at him and said, “Please, don’t be mean. I am not as young as you think. I am a twenty-eight-year-old married woman.”
“Well, I know that you must be older than me. I just don’t think you are married to Daniel, especially. He is a hard man to get, if you know what I’m saying,” Nolan said.
Sienna followed to giggle along with him.
“He is a womanizer, huh? How could you be fallen in love with him? And how long have you married him?” Nolan asked away.
Sienna blinked nervously when he asked a bunch of questions at one time.
She took a deep breath and answered him carefully, “Well, I have been married to him for over nine years…”
“Hmm, such a very long time,” Nolan murmured.
“And as for how I could be fallen in love with a womanizer, I don’t know,” she smiled awkwardly as she shook her head. “Love just happened back then.”
But then suddenly, Nolan asked her daringly, “How about now?”
Sienna paused to stare at him for a second. She didn’t expect Nolan to ask her about that. And why would he bother to ask her anyway?
Her lips trembled. Her eyes looked around the room for a moment.
“Ms. Wilson?” He looked at her bafflingly.
And when she stared back at him, she said, “Please, just call me Sienna.”
“Okay, Sienna. You have not yet answered my question. Do you still love him now?” Nolan was still curious to find out.
Sienna smiled quietly. And then she nodded.
“Is that a yes?” Nolan wondered.
Sienna stared back at him and chuckled. “Please, Nolan. It’s between me and Daniel.”
“It’s a very simple question. I wonder why it’s hard for you to answer it,” Nolan muttered.
Sienna took a deep breath and shouted back, “I know, it’s not that hard to answer your question. I was just wondering why you should question it?”
Nolan smiled quietly this time. It was like he tried to read her emotion at the time. Sienna felt too awkward to continue this conversation with him.
And then she said, “Besides, I have told you that my marriage with Daniel is still private from the public.”
“Duly noted, Sienna,” he giggled. “I just want to get to know you better.”
“By asking about my marriage with Daniel, huh?” Sienna chuckled out.
Thereafter, Nolan shrugged his shoulders ignorantly.
After a while, Daniel had not come back. He was still busy taking a phone call as he stood in front of a glass window of this restaurant.
And the waitress just came to serve three orange juices on their table, while the steaks should wait for another ten minutes.
At the time, Sienna wanted to go to the bathroom.
And then she quickly told Nolan, “If Daniel comes back here, tell him that I go to the bathroom, okay?”
After Nolan gulped down his orange juice, then he nodded at her.
Afterward, Sienna walked away to search the bathroom that was located in the back of this mega restaurant.
It took her about five minutes to do her business in the bathroom. She was all alone at the time when she went to wash her hands in the public sink.
All of a sudden, she saw Nolan approached her from behind.
“Hey,” Nolan greeted her with his friendly face.
Sienna flinched when Nolan suddenly appeared here in the room.
“No… Nolan, why are you here?” Sienna wondered bafflingly.
Her body got shivered when he approached her a little closer and stood beside her at the sink table.
And then Nolan answered her, “I want to wash my hand before eating the steak, of course. I am a hygiene freak. Don’t you know?”
Sienna chuckled when she heard him joking.
“Well, I just know that you’re a total geek,” she shouted back. Then she stepped away to give him space and let him wash his hands.
“Thank you,” Nolan murmured as he quickly washed his hands.
Sienna wondered if he thanked her for stepping away from the sink table or for calling him a total geek. She would assume either way and chuckle out.
Nolan stole a glance at her from the mirror. The corner of his mouth turned upward. Then he murmured, “What’s so funny?”
Sienna smiled and shook her head. “Ugh, nothing.”
“Really?” Nolan still looked at her from the mirror with his disbelief stare.
“Oh, come on, forget it. I’ll be waiting for you at the table,” Sienna said.
Before she was about to walk away, Nolan shouted out, “Hey, Sienna, can you grab me the tissue before you go?”
Sienna sighed and nodded obediently. But she muttered as she walked to grab the tissue for him, “Can’t you just grab it yourself?”
As she brought the tissue to him at the sink table, he suddenly stepped closer and kissed the side of her cheek. Her heart skipped a beat almost immediately.
Once he looked at her in the eyes, she watched him well warily.
“Nolan…” she still couldn’t believe that he kissed her impudently.
“It’s an American way to thank a pretty woman actually. Don’t you know?” He giggled out as he grabbed the tissue from her grasp.
As soon as he wiped his hands with the tissue and threw it away to the trash can, he turned to see her once again and said, “Sienna, aren’t you coming?”
Sienna flinched at him. She was being all awkward by herself. While Nolan was acting like nothing was matter. But the sudden kiss on her cheek mattered.
“Hey, Sienna?” He murmured again. “Why are you standing like a statue there?”
“Yeah, okay, I’ll be right behind you,” Sienna said.
Thereafter, Nolan smiled and opened the door.
