Chapter 15. Sleeping Pill (+18)

His words echoed inside of her head. She couldn’t stop his voice from haunting her mind.
*“You are my wife.”*
*“You are my wife.”*
*“You are my wife.”*
Why would he say something like that? What did he mean when he said that to her?
Sienna was in a tremendous shock after she got to process his words inside of her head. This was just beyond her understanding.
“Mister Wilson, pardon… what are you…” but then she paused from talking when the pain came crashing into her brain system. She felt a great headache throbbed into her head.
Afterward, her eyes stared at the glass of white wine in front of her for a second. She was drinking half of the content in one gulp earlier. She wondered if the wine she drank was too strong for her body.
When the pain aroused again, she rested her hands on her forehead. She closed her eyes for a moment to soothe the torment of the pain.
“Sienna…”
When she heard him calling by her first name, she instantly opened her eyes to see him. She narrowed her eyebrows in disbelief at him. Why would he dare to call her informally?
Daniel was clenching his jaw. Both of his hands closed tensely at the table.
Sienna half-opened her mouth. She wanted to shout back at him, to release her anger, but the pain grew wilder. It was hard for her to concentrate.
In a blink of an eye, she immediately realized what just happened. She stared again at the glass of wine at her table. Her suspicion got the best of her this time.
Her hunch might be telling her the truth since the beginning. And when the thing had turned out like this, she regretted when she didn’t listen to her omnibus intuition.
“Oh, God…” she muttered in a weak voice. “What did you… do…?”
“I did what I should do, Sienna,” he said inconsiderately. “You are my responsibility.”
“What… responsibility?” Sienna asked away. But the rhythm of her heartbeat felt rough, making it hard to speak more.
And then she looked at him raising from his chair. She watched him, terrified of the next thing he wanted to do to her.
Before he got anymore closer to her, she shouted out alertly, “Did you… did you put something in my drink? How… how dare you…”
“Did I?” Daniel teased her. He chuckled out, amused when looking at her struggle to open her eyes and to concentrate. And he murmured, “Well… maybe I did.”
“Oh, God, I feel so dizzy,” Sienna kept pressing her temples when murmuring weakly, “This is… painful”
Daniel walked slowly to approach her. She could hear his quiet footstep coming closer.
“Don’t… don’t come anywhere near me!” She tried so hard to exclaim out, although she was out of breath from feeling the racing of her heartbeat. “Please… don’t…”
Soon, Daniel stood right next to her. Then he bent down to whisper to her ear, sending her a tickling shiver down her womanhood, “Sienna…”
She froze. She couldn’t move her numb body for a moment. She was panicking. She didn’t know what just happened to her whole nerves systems. Why her body didn’t want to integrate with her mind?
Maybe it was the effect of something that Daniel put in her drink. Was it a poison? Did he want to kill her? The terrifying thoughts gnawed her head for a second.
She wanted to scream out for help. She was hoping the waitress would come into the room and saved her. Because she couldn’t trust Hamuza, he was still Daniel’s loyal minion. She wouldn’t expect that big man to save her anyway.
Then the flash of Jonathan’s face crossed her mind. She wanted to tell him. She wanted to warn him to be careful. And she wanted to scream out for his help as well. But he was so far away and unreachable.
Afterward, Daniel slowly caressed her hair. The tip of his lips kissed the strain of her dark brown hair. She could feel his warm breath crashing on her cheek.
Then she heard him whispering again, “You’ll be fine, Baby. I will make sure of that.”
She felt the shiver haunted her whole body this time. She was terrified of him. This man could do anything he liked. He could be a true psycho behind that handsome face. Or maybe he wanted to tease her, to play with her like some kind of a shiny toy.
And then he said to her, “I will take care of you. Like I always used to do.”
Sienna tried so hard to talk back. She gathered all the strength that was left in her to say, “No… you don’t. You’re a bad man, Daniel.”
He quietly chuckled and whispered, “Why are you running away from me, Sienna?”
She slightly backed away from him. And she avoided eye contact with him as she snapped, “You’re a lunatic…”
“You do realize who is the bad one here, right?” Daniel said firmly in her ear. “You’ve been such a bad wife. And you will have to repay your debt to me after all this time…”
“No!” She yelled out.
He caught her oval jaw to drag her closer to him again. She instantly moaned at his strong grasp. She could feel his warm breath in her ear. Suddenly, he kissed her temple, pressing down his lips on her skin.
“I love you, and I always do. But you’ve been testing my patient for the worst, Sienna,” he whispered quickly in her ear. “And right now, you’ll come with me!”
“I don’t want to…” she talked back. “Please!”
But she didn’t have the strength to push him away when he pulled her up from the chair. And then he carried her in his arms.
She could only moan again. She was too tired to fight back.
The painful headache made her wanted to go to sleep. She didn’t feel well at all.
And eventually, once her eyes closed, she fell asleep in his arms.

She was still feeling tired. As if she wanted to sleep forever, she wanted to keep her eyes closed for so long. But then she felt her legs were exposed to the coolness of the air. It was freezing. The room’s temperature was too cold for her thin body.
Finally, the cold made her regained her senses. She had to open her eyes again.
The first thing she saw was a wide ceiling above her. she was laying down on a very comfortable bed. She knew for sure that her bed didn’t feel as comfy as this one. And the mix of sandalwood and fresh coffee aroma in the air kind of made her felt relaxed.
Then slowly, she tried to process the environment in this unfamiliar room.
She asked herself; *What just happened? Where am I? Why am I in this room?*
The room looked like the one in an expensive penthouse. The interior looked antique with the mix of golden and cream wallpaper.
The curtain half-opened in front of the bed. She could she a slight mellow color of the night sky out there through the glass window.
The sleepy feeling was just too strong until she forgot about everything. She just basically forgot where she left off after she had fallen asleep. She just hoped she wasn’t being kidnapped by a stranger in the street.
But then suddenly, the flash of that man’s face came into her mind. She paused from breathing, feeling a great surprise.
“No… this can’t be…” she muttered to herself.
Then she quickly checked on what she wore. She was still wearing the same black dress as the last time. She felt relieved. But she didn’t recognize the dark purple silk robe that lingered on her skin. She wondered who put this robe for her.
But when she carefully glanced to her left side, she finally saw a man was sitting across from the bed. She bulged her eyes out when she saw him. And he was half-naked.
Daniel Wilson sat down on a gold vintage chair while gazing out at her. He unbuttoned his white long sleeve shirt, slightly showing his stomach muscles. But she was glad that he was still wearing his black long trouser to cover the bottom part of his body.
She quickly stacked her elbows on the surface of the bed to hold her body. Then she blinked nervously at him.
“Where… where am I?” She shouted out, terrified with the feeling that haunted her.
Especially when his dark glossy eyes kept gazing at her, she gulped down nervously. His stare felt so intimidating. She already felt defeated by the way he looked at her so deeply.
He was seated there with his body bent down and his hands rested on his knees. His eyes were watching her cautiously.
Sienna felt more terrified when he didn’t answer her question. The room was quiet. She didn’t hear anything, except the breezing Air Cooler that was placed on the corner of the ceiling.
“Please, don’t hurt me,” Sienna begged him.
Daniel quickly raised from the chair. He stood a meter away from the bed and paused.
“Hurt you?” He murmured, slightly raising his eyebrow. “You’re the one that hurt me.”
Sienna narrowed her eyebrows, baffling. She wondered what was his problem? What did he want from her? Why did he do this to her?
“Did… did you toss a sleeping pill in my drink?” Sienna finally remembered.
For a second, he paused. He half-opened his mouth and sticking his tongue out to the side. He looked defensive. But eventually, he admitted so boldly to her, “Yes, I did.”
Sienna bulged her eyes out even wilder. She couldn’t believe a well-respected man like Daniel Wilson would ever do such a thing to her.
“Oh, God, that was…” she almost lost in words. “It’s a crime! And now you’re kidnaping me? Wow, you’re surely a dangerous man, Mister Wilson! I can’t believe this…”
The last words that she said herself suddenly haunted her mind. She remembered the first impression she had toward this man was dangerous. And this time, her hunch was proved on the point in telling her the truth.
“You would just run away again if I didn’t do that,” he muttered. There was a wave of anger that he held back when talking to her. It was like he had an unresolved emotion toward her.
“I will call the cops! I will tell Jonathan!” She yelled out, madly.
Daniel chuckled cynically and he talked back, “Jonathan? Isn’t he such a loser, Sienna?”
Sienna closed her lips altogether for a second. Then she snapped out, “How dare you.”
“No one will know that you are here,” he said. There was a real threat within his firm voice.
“Please… don’t do this. Just let me go!” She begged him pathetically.
When he walked slowly toward the bed, she quickly moved backward. She wanted to stay away as far as possible from him. But before she could raise from the bed and run away, he jumped into the bed to embrace her body.
“No… please!” She moaned, terrified. “Let me go! Don’t hurt me!”
She tried to break free from his grasp, although she was struggling.
“Do you have any idea how much torture you put me through? That is the real pain,” Daniel muttered angrily to her. His eyes were on fire.
“No!” Sienna kept fighting him off.
“I’ll never let you go,” he whispered, tickling her ear.
Once he said that, she felt defeated in everything, even her senses to live.
And he made sure of that, “Never."
